CvP Primary Declared Void, Official CvP Press Release
Today, June 28th, 2009 the CvP Primary has been canceled by the CvP Senior/Upper Council. This may come as no surprise to some of you and it may be a large one to others. This article explains why this decision was made and how we plan to deal with an endorsement.
Reason for Cancellation and Investigation
The CvP primary is a very ingenious system in which any citizen eligible to be nominated for POTUS can be put up for the Primary vote in the nomination stage after being approved by two other citizens. This month's Primary was very interesting with Gaius_Julius and Ajay Bruno being the front runners. The Primary was going smoothly until Ajay Bruno gained 30 votes in less then an hour after nobody had gained any votes for over a day. This caused some speculation among CvP members, especially the CvP Council. The 30 votes were immediately discounted as they were all made by one person who doesn't even exist in eRepublik. This made us think that there might be more to the votes then what meets the eye. This launched an investigation in which all votes were went through and investigated to make sure that it was indeed that person who voted in the primary. After many hours and hours of going through all the voters they found something interesting.

While the following is not a direct quote from Matt because it was too long and some parts of it were off-topic I will summarize it as the following:
1) Somone was caught ballot stuffing by using citizen's names and voting for himself.
2) Ajay Bruno is no longer an official CvP member and that he is shunned upon by CvP Leadership and members. This is because he broke a deal made with Matt and the party council recently.
3) The CvP will be endorsing me, no jus kidding, we will be endorsing absolutely nobody for POTUS.
4) Another Primary will be held with a new rule, you must PM a to be announced citizen or org after you vote to confirm it.

I in no way cheated. Anyone who looks at those screenshots will see that this proves nothing. I beat Gaius fair and square. So much for your democratic "primary" system.

Does this mean there will be a second primary?
I don't really find myself shocked or surprised. I thought that if it were to be legit (which I warned various members of the CvP to investigate it), that Ajay had targeted or PMed 2-clickers asking them to vote for him in return for a promise or something. I, in no way, ever thought this was a scandal-free election. I'm glad the CvP caught on before the real deal and I am looking forward to seeing the results of their primary do-over!

Too bad. With Ajay running, people with vastly different views were finding common ground. Sure, that common ground was their opposition to Ajay, but it was still common ground.
