Cry me a river! The Mastercard myth dispelled

The Phoenix crybabies keep blaming Mastercard, Visa and on occasions American Express for their continuous string of losses. So far only Dinners Club and JCB managed to avoid the Penixoid wrath.

On the other hand EDEN and the Brolliance have always claimed their successes on the battlefield are due to superior organization and coordination.

There's a very simple way to check who is right by looking at the game mechanics.

Any player can use up to 300 health points from food per day for fighting. That food needs of course to be purchased. There are two non-credit card payment sources in the game: wages and medals.

The higher the ratio [net wage]/[price of q1 bread] the more damage (influence) a player can deal. In other words, the ratio shows which country gets more bang for the buck (BFB ratio).

Since there is a strong correlation between the work skill and the military skill we'll calculate the BFB for a Guru* wage. Guru* people have also the ability to deal significant quantities of damage and thus influence the outcome of a battle.

Well, guess what?

- The average BFB for the top 8 EDEN countries is 24.71

- The Average BFB for the top 8 Phoenix countries is 22.65

- The top 5 BFB EDEN countires are:

1. Spain - 32.5
2. Romania - 30.86
3. Croatia - 26.46
4. Greece - 26.34
5. Poland - 24.91

To that we can add USA with a BFB of 25.17

- top 5 BFB Phoenix countries are:

1. Serbia - 27.56
2. Brazil - 25.84
3. Hungary - 25.15
4. Germany - 23.52
5. Indonesia - 22.94

Bulgaria, otherwise not yet a major Phoenix power, gets a very honorable BFB of 25.71, better than Hungary or Indonesia.

What can we see from looking at the BFB scores:

- USA doesn't need to use credit cards to trash Hungary. An American gets more bang for the buck simply by clicking the Work button and buying American products;

- Out of the Top 5 BFB scores for Phoenix, 2 are Brazil and Germany, two countries not exactly famous for their eRepublik military successes. Stronger Phoenix armies than the German and the Brazilian ones are crippled by the inefficiency of their respective national economies;

So dear Phoenixoids, it's time to face the truth. You screwed your own economies. That's the main reason you can't provide enough damage on the battlefield. Not Visa or Mastercard.
