CP Update - Chile Training War And Region Rent
Aus Prime Minister Office
Hello eAustralia,
A follow up on the Training War with Chile.
The training war hasn't gone as either us or Chile would have liked. This was partly due to some of their allies treating it like a real war, partly due to our attention being on holding Indos last 2 regions until aftre cp elections and also due to our unwillingness to use our reserves on a training war.
We will be wrapping this up in the next few days and may end up with a temporary wipe of us by Chile. To make this clear this will be TEMPORARY!
Resistance Wars will be started directly after the Natural Enemy is closed and 5 of our 7 regions released as soon as possible.
The 2 regions Chile is requesting to rent is Tasmania and Victoria. These are regions with food bonuses they need. We have the same resources in other regions so is no loss to us. Also to make it clear this will not affect our congress numbers we will still have 40 seats as normal. The amount of rent is 20 000 cc a month and yes we will be asking for back taxes on them to be paid for the period they've been held up until they are rented.
And for those of you not sure how congress numbers work heres the wiki page for you:
Congress Division
And as per normal, any questions, please feel free to ask them or comment below.

Has anyone actually spoken to our allies about renting regions to Chile? Should we just load the anti-aircraft batteries against a European AS now? Are we officially changing sides?
The whole thing looks like "it was too hard, so we're just doing what they want".
Why would it effect what our allies think? We have excess regions, none of our allies have approached Australia about renting them. Peru still owes back taxes.
Any agreement should be signed in regards to rent would not effect battles or war.
Plus this is not 'its too hard', Chile has always been interested in renting regions ever since the resource wars back in February
Renting regions is not changing sides Ilene.
Chile unlike some nations actually pay the rent they owe, and we are not using them. I know this from experience and its good cash coming into our coffers.
And anyone having a problem with doing it like this can put their money where their mouth is and put cos up.
We can also look at Norway and the UK, they had region rent deals that crossed over the alliance lines. However it worked with no issues.
We currently have a NAP with Chile which means no direct attacks (yeah as if Australia could NE Chile anyway, so it is to our advantage), these agreements are just 'one on one' ones. I am pretty sure our allies and Chile know, if we or they hit elsewhere, we would be fighting against each other in directly. Like the Indo conflict, Chile fighters where hitting for them. And like the recent South American conflict, we had fighters hitting against Chile
I take it you're both in favour of the agreement then?
I realise I don't get a vote. Just being the devils advocate to avoid groupthink problems...
You do get a vote, it's in congress
Yeah... I gave up that and don't regret the decision.
I don't like the way this looks, first they wipe us during a TW and then they ask to rent some regions...
The request has been there for months.
If they pay rent or Aus get some territories which we need, why not?
Don't look 2 much to Europe, Australia should craft own destiny.
What if Chile respect our NAP without the region rent agreement?
? Unsure what you mean. They have been respecting our NAP since it was signed. And there was no region rent then
I offer to pay 2*20K cc from my personal funds for keeping the extra Australian bonuses. If Chile respect our NAP they will release all regions.
The region rent tends include protection clauses. Are you going to offer that as well?
