CP Debate / February elections Pt. 1

Day 803, 19:42 Published in Canada Peru by Sexin

Here is the debate held on January 31st between Chamrajnagar, jbdivinus and jefflav. Jeff had to leave early and wasn't able to participate in the full debate.

Canadidates started with opening remarks, followed by 10 questions, an open debate and then closing remarks.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Welcome everyone to the February, 2010 debate for eCanadian CP. I'll be your sup-awesome moderator tonight. The debate will consist of opening remarks followed by a question/answer period for candidates and then a free debate on topics. It'll then be followed by closing remarks

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Candidates are to answer questions directed only to them and not interrupt any one else's answers
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Candidates are to complete their answer using the word "END" all in caps
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Please PM me your questions and/or topics of debate
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith First up is Chamrajnagar for his 5 minutes of opening remarks
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Cham, whenever you're ready
Chamrajnagar I'd first like to thank all of you for coming out to the debate.
Chamrajnagar My platform sits on two major goals: player retention and preparing eCanada for v2
Chamrajnagar These two main goals are supported by many smaller goals, all of which are designed to work to increase our active player base, and make eCanada a strong contender in the future
Chamrajnagar Militarily, eCanada is quite strong for a nation her size. It is important, both for player retention and preparation, to support our military.
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 1minute
Chamrajnagar Economically, we need to increase Canada's reserves in order to be prepared for v2. As well, we need to make sure that we have a strong, healthy economy where players are going to want to both work, and invest in companies.
Chamrajnagar I'd like to increase the Minister of Heritage's purview, to include social activites to increase the inter-relationships in our society, and further improve on the Ministry of Education's work to reach out to new players, and intice them to stay past their first few days.
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you Cham, next up, jefflav. You have 5 minutes
jefflav Goodnight everyone thanks for coming to this debate
jefflav well my platform can be different in many ways then some of the other candidates platforms
jefflav because i cover almost every issue that eCanada has problems in or need improving
jefflav i have 3 goals that are important for eCanada to make changes in they are our Military issues , economie issues and are foreign affairs issues
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 1minute
jefflav so i saw that our economie in gold count is low and i want to make a change in making it higher
jefflav and i think we should create a military group like the crismon canucks and the rangers
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jefflav, your time has expired.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith next up, jbdivinus. You have 5 minutes
jbdivinus Thank you Shaun
jbdivinus Thank you Chamrajnagar and jefflav. Now, I expect many of you have read with interest the platforms provided by my opponents and myself over the past week. For those of you who may have taken the tl;dr approach, or woud like a refreshment, I will briefly outline what my platform focuses on, and then turn to what differentiates me from the other candidates for
jbdivinus the prestigious office of Prime Minister.
jbdivinus My primary goal is to increase our gold reserves significantly, to be able to support military costs, and to prepare eCanada for investment into whatever V2 brings us. This will be accomplished through several methods. My economics team will be constantly examining different approaches to investments, but we will begin with simple, highly effective policies.
\ jbdivinus This will include continuing to sell CAD in order to stabilize the value of the dollar, continuing to collect and repay victory bonds if the market permits, investing in foreign currencies, and looking into creating our own government bank, something many people have expressed an interest in.
\ jbdivinus Secondly, I plan on expanding the capabilities of our military. This includes not only the efficiency and strength of the CAF, but also foreign intelligence, economic warfare, and the controversial issue of funding for private armies. I am certain questions will be asked on this topic, so I will not comment further now, except to say that I support the
jbdivinus funding of private armies
jbdivinus Finally, as has always been my #1 interest in this game, I will be focusing on the activity levels of our younger citizens. This includes focusing on getting ads and articles out and voted up in the media frequently, PMing new citizens and helping them understand the game, providing mentors and products to help them get along.
jbdivinus What differentiates me from the other candidates though? Both jefflav and Chamrajnagar have unique approaches to the presidential office. I have one as well, and this may surprise you, but it has little to do with my abilities to understand erepublik.
jbdivinus My strength as a leader is in building and supporting my team.
jbdivinus I have reorganized cabinet so that we have talented individuals leading every aspect of our country. I will be supervising, and guiding them, I have clear goals and I know how to bring them about. But I do not believe I can do everything myself, and I won't try to. I have created a cabinet designed to be self-sufficient, so that when I am focused on one issue
jbdivinus things will run smoothly in all areas.
jbdivinus My team is my strongest aspect, and in my opinion, the backbone of any accomplishments a Prime Minister can achieve
jbdivinus Thank you for your patience, now let the debate begin!
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jbdivinus for rewriting the dictionary
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 😉
jbdivinus I would like to request that the order in which candidates answer a question be posted along with the question. Please and thank you
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you to all candidates as well...Now lets move on to the question period. We'll rotate who will answer the questions first

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #1: To both candidates, where do you see eCanada fitting in the World Order and how do you see eCanada getting involved in foreign affairs?
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith From DerekHarland
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav, jbdivinus, Chamrajnagar in that order. Jeff, you have 3 minutes
jefflav Well ecanada needs to get there ambassadors more involved with the other countries ecanadian ambassadors they should have weekly meetings to keep udated and know how the other country is hloding up me on the other hand will have weekly meetings with the other countries president to also talk about tyhe important issues
jefflav END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jeff, jb

jbdivinus Thank you
jbdivinus Canada has a very specific role at this point on the world stage. I would like to see our recognition increase, and I have a few goals and plans to that end. First of all, with the OSS and the PR for the CAF I plan on increasing the size and strength of our military considerably.
jbdivinus I also plan on re-energizing the ambassador corps, and making sure we only have active ambassadors working for and with us to promote our country and our diplomatic needs.
jbdivinus With the idea of a bank of Canada, this can also be expanded to include the idea of a 'trade alliance' between many countries, where we can unite and mentor money market players of the world. The launch of the eUniversity will also help promote Canada on the world stage. I will promote any and all organizations which will increase our domestic or
jbdivinus international value,recognition, and respect.
jbdivinus Finally, I think our involvement in EDEN command, and EDEN command in general, needs to step it up a notch. Needless to say, affairs have not been going as well as we could have hoped recently, and I plan on being as stubborn and loud as I need to be to make sure Canada and EDEN succeed.
jbdivinus END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jbdivinus. Cham, you're on the clock

Chamrajnagar eCanada has the potential to do many different things in the realm of Foreign Affairs. As most Foreign Affairs plans go, mine is fairly straight-forwar😛 stay close with our allies, increase relations with neutral nations, and work to sway our enemies over to our side. From my time in the Ambassador Corps, there was a lot of inactivity. I know this has increased in the past little while due to exceptional efforts by our Foreign Affairs
Chamrajnagar This will help weed out inactive Ambassadors, and replace them with new fresh talent.
Chamrajnagar eCanada is a force to be reckoned with, and we need the communication lines open so that every other country knows it.
Chamrajnagar As for EDEN, like jbdivinus said, we need to push for some change. There is a breakdown somewhere along the lines, and as the leader of eCanada, I will push to find it.
Chamrajnagar END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you cham

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #2: Describe, with as much brevity as possible, why you believe your opponent(s) are less qualified than you for the job of President. You must answer directly; you may not reference your own strengths, as you are commenting on the weaknesses of your opponents
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith From Saltydog
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus, Chamrajnagar, jefflav
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jb, you have 3 minutes
jbdivinus Interesting question, thank you saltydog
jbdivinus I think in principle why my opponents are less qualified than me would be directly related to what I offer. However, I will try to keep my answer in line with the spirit of your question
jbdivinus jefflave is a very young citizen, he does not bring the experience or knowledge base that I have had the ability to earn throughout my time here. He has not been very involved in political successes in this game, and I do not think he is necesarily ready to take the most prestigious office this nation has to offer
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 20seconds
jbdivinus Cham, on the other hand, is an extremely qualified candidate. However, I am unsure of his leadership abilities, he is not very vocal in the media or in the everyday life of the average eCanadian. Also, he has not been in a large variety of cabinet positions and has mostly dealt with economics. From a view purely related to past experience
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jb, your time is up
jbdivinus he may not be ready. However, I do not doubt his abilities
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav
jefflav my turn
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith yes, 3 minutes. let's all respect the time limit
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 20 seconds
jefflav ok so Jbdvinius know alot about politics but he not ready to become CP because he should of been CP a long time ago because he is old and approching retirement and he don<t spend so much time on erep as he use too and cham im unsure also of hes leadership
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith i'm sorry jeff, your time is up. cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith woops, my bad, i've already screwed up the order
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith I will give jeff another minute after cham's answer to answer the question. Sorry about that jeff

Chamrajnagar While I have the utmost respect for jbdivinus, and his ability to lead this country, and appreciate jefflav's enthusiasm, having asked him to be in my cabinet as a deputy minister prior to his decision to run, I have answered the question to the best of my ability:
Chamrajnagar jbdivinus: Has the tendency to get a little hot-headed, and to lash out, letting his emotions get the better of him; brings baggage into office with him, in the form of attacks on the CPF, and attacks by CPF members that are unfairly attributed to the CPF as a whole;
Chamrajnagar jefflav: Is a bit unaware of the current situation of eCanada except in the broadest terms; is quite vague on HOW he plans to implement his ideas; is a relative unkown, difficult to say whether he has the ability to lead;
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you cham. Jeff, please finish your answer to this question
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith once again, my apologies
jefflav i was about to finish just say to them cham as not particpated in so much elections and he has not much experience has a leader and he is also not the most known person of ecanada so ...
jefflav ENd
jefflav END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jeff.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #3: What are you opinions on the events taking place within the Canadian Empire Party? Cham, jeff, jb in that order
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar, you have 3 minutes
Chamrajnagar I believe that this can be taken from two different viewpoints
Chamrajnagar First, ideology, second game mechanics
Chamrajnagar As an ideology thing, I think it was very foolish of Oct_F to "arrest" Craig. That's not how democratic parties operate...even if he was a spy, he should not be removed from the party. I do disagree with the methodology of which every grievance was publically aired by both sides.
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 20 seconds
Chamrajnagar Game mechanics: Oct_F can technically do what he wants till Feb 15th :/
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you cham, your time is up
Chamrajnagar And as admin on his forum, he can deny access to who he wants, it's unfortunate, but he has the power
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav, you're up
Chamrajnagar sorry :/
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav incidentally, can only stay for another 15 minutes
jefflav ok so i think that the citizen that made the arrest should of notify the autorities before proceeding to the arrest and then if he had the concent of the autorities could of then proceed to the arest or he could of just brought the citizens who commited the crime to court and solved it with justice
jefflav END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jef

jbdivinus recent events in the CEP have been very controversial, and the CPF, my current party, has been heavily involved in the brunt of the attacks and smears that have been going on, from all sides. Firstly, the CEP is not in any way a 'bad party' in fact, it has some very capable members who have a very valid and valuable ideology which would benefit eCanada if
jbdivinus a proper approach was used to implement these ideas.
jbdivinus Octavian_F is very similar to this description, likely because he is in fact PP of the CEP and is the source of its current image. There is no question that he does have ideas, and could contribute to our country. There is also no doubt that his approach to this goal has historically been misguided, to say the least. In his recent interviews with Acacia, he
jbdivinus has professed to have acknowledged this and has promised to change. For my part, I greatly appreciate this. I have always tried to encourage him by commenting with criticisms of his articles rather than trolling comments, as many do. Seeing him promise to reciprocate this makes me have confidence in Octavian_F, the CEP, and eCanada as a whole.
jbdivinus As to the issue of Craig Norman, I think it is obvious to all that he is a very talented politician and writer. His citizen's origins are irrelevant to me, it is the knowledge and viewpoint that he brings which I value and support. Wherever he ends up, I believe he will be successful. I look forward eagerly to see how he defines the CEP in the future.
jbdivinus I would like to see the CEP reach its potential, and develop greater relations with other parties, as well as a few more vocal members.
jbdivinus END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jb

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #4: How will the candidates tackle the division in EDEN?
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jeff, jb, cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav, you're up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question is from XinSheng
jefflav ok well we should try and keep all of our alliances strong and stable with other countries and we should try and convert our ennemies to be our allies
jefflav we could also try and get our military prepared for any surprise attack by any country
jefflav by making them stonger and bigger
jefflav END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jeff, your time is now up. jbdivinus, you're next
jbdivinus By example. I will be a loud voice, I will represent the interests of Canada first, but I will keep in my the interests of other EDEN countries. I will develop personal relationships with members of EDEN command, and try to work together for a common goal, rather than solely in the interest of any one country. Abuse of power, corruption, greed, and
jbdivinus selfishness will tear an alliance apart, as we have seen in the past, with Atlantis and PEACE. I do not expect it to be easy, but I plan on representing Canadian values such as honesty, virtue, strength, and honour in EDEN command. The contacts that I have developped and will develop will be a great aid in uniting EDEN to a common cause. Chucky Norris and
jbdivinus Scrabman, as well as Derek Harland, Goran Thrax, and Sara Droz, will all be involved in the foreign affairs section of my administration, in military decision, and relationships with foreign groups, including EDEN.
jbdivinus Again, my team is one of my greatest strengths.
jbdivinus It is what we fight for that makes EDEN strong, and I pledge to remind EDEN command exactly what that is.
jbdivinus END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thanks jb

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith you're on the clizzock
Chamrajnagar First thing I would do is contact every President of an EDEN country, and ask whether they thought their country is currently misaligned by EDEN. If they aren't, then success! If they are, then I would call for a conference of every EDEN leader and their MOFA, and sit down and revisit both the founding principles of EDEN, and each member's commitment to them. If we are required to reform our alliance, then I will spearhead the changes I
Chamrajnagar eCanada will, and should be, a shining example of what a member country in EDEN should be. We will always give help to any ally that needs it, unless it is tactically unwise to do so. Having member nations keep their original territories is something I feel strongly about, having lived through the destruction of all of ours. With as much flexibility is allowed with EDEN directives, original territory defense will be my first priority.
Chamrajnagar END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thanks cham

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #5: What is your opinion on Private military funding and what do you see the role of militias as? jb, cham, jeff
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus, you're up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith from gofarman

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith we'll have 4 more questions, then a couple of open debate topics and then closing remarks
jbdivinus Private military funding is one of the most effective types of funding that exists in the game. This can be easily seen in systems such as those employed by Romania, where nearly their entire army is based on private groups. In Canada as well, they provide large amounts of damage for a low cost, and are especially good for player retention and mentoring.
jbdivinus I strongly support funding for these groups, and I see their role as exactly what I have described. An alternative source of military strength and player activity, a very positive influence on our culture.
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jb. Chamrajnagar, go
Chamrajnagar I am personally in favour of private militias. They fight for Canada and her allies, for very little cost, and are quite good at player retention. I had originally thought that a merit-based funding system would work best. However, Gofarman raised a very interesting point earlier today, causing me to rethink my "pay-to-play" strategy. I view them as a very integral part of my player retention strategy and assign a high priority to both
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 20seconds
Chamrajnagar I'd propose a hybrid fixed-cost and performance bonus funding system to militias, and am considering grants to support very young players in militias.
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jeflav, you're on the clock
jefflav im in favor in creating more militas groups and i think that we should have alot of fund go towards this cause and this is very important in keeping our military organised so the more groups we have the better !
jefflav END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thanks jeff

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #6: What is your level of commitment to the maintenance and improvement of our social services programs?

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith from Zeblewski. Cham, jeff, jb
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar, youre up
Chamrajnagar I am highly commited to these programs
Chamrajnagar The entire purpose of our social services programs are to make eCanada better for our citizens
Chamrajnagar This makes eCanada an attractive place to immigrate to, and hopefully to stay in for young players
Chamrajnagar I believe that our social services are one of the key things that differentiate eCanada from many other nations, and am quite proud of all our services.
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav, you're up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Please send me topics you'd like to see debated between the candidates
jefflav im really commited to these programs also. That why i have put together a charity with my organisation to help newly created citizens in financialling there activities and in helping the other citizens with financial problems. I aslo want to help all immigrants to get involved with our culture and yeah that mosly it END
jefflav *mostly
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jeff
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus

jbdivinus I am proud to admit, back in beta, I was 'the Social Services guru' similar to what Emilio Sanchez has become. I don't mention this to bring credit to myself for any accomplishments, but to emphasize what my primary interest in this game is. For months, I have spent more money on other citizens, providing them food, gifts, and guns, than on myself.
jbdivinus Just the other day, I PMed hundreds of citizens offering them advice and mentorship, and a friend request. The social aspect of this game is the one that appeals most closely to my hear, and is one that will forever remain a priority for me.
jbdivinus As Prime Minister, I will not be there to personally focus on every social service available, but I can promise many things.
jbdivinus First of all, I will increase both the number of ads and articles that are released by the government, with the aim of getting the word out to more citizens. I will encourage PM drives, to get to as many citizens as possible. We need an informative and *friendly*! welcome message for every new citizen. We need to launch immigration campaigns to bring in
jbdivinus experienced citizens as well.
jbdivinus Finally, we need to recognize our experienced and helpful citizens, and promote them in eCBC and other sources of media, such as CBC radio/podcast. Getting the word out there that there are many people willing and able to help is the most important part of improving our country
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jb
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith your time is up
jbdivinus If we can get the baby boom started by Fram to work effectively, we will be prepared to adapt to the large influx of citizens we will be receiving. An active and aware Canada is the greatest achievement we could hope for!
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #7: In the last term, Jacobi gave Derek Harland command channel access and the Prime Minister mask to keep him up to date in case of impeachment/banning. Would you commit to do the same to the person who finishes second to you?

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jeff, jb, cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jefflav, you're up.
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith candidates, please respect the 3 minute time limit
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Those who continually go over their 3 minutes will risk having their answers chopped off in the published version of the debate
jefflav Yes because i think that the runner up should be notified in what going on
jefflav and he could eventually help the CP in making some decision
jefflav it could be a bit like a Vice president so yeah
jefflav END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thanks jeff, jbdivinus
jbdivinus I absolutely agree with this policy. Deputy Prime Minister is a great position in principle, but if impeachment were to occurr (and its attempt is something common in almost every Prime Minister's history in this country) then the candidate who finished in second place would become the Prime Minister. They need to be ready for action and not be stuck in a
jbdivinus stage of transition.
jbdivinus Too, they will likely represent a large number of canadians to finish in second, Derek Harland for example received hundreds of votes. It would be a shame to ignore the advice of someone who is so clearly recognized and admired by the country I love.
jbdivinus I am a candidate in this race to improve the country. So are my opponents, and I do not believe in excluding them simply because they are running against me. Their difference in opinion and values will be very helpful in expanding my opinions and initiating debate, which is the source of progress
jbdivinus I wouldn't have it any other way.
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thanks jb
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar
Chamrajnagar Simple answer: Yes
Chamrajnagar It was a very smart move by Jacobi, and I for one will learn from it.
Chamrajnagar I'm going to not paste what I've written, as it'll look like I copied what jb wrote...but in essence I agree with his point to the letter.
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #8: Dishmcds has stated that he is open to peace negotiations in the article &quot😉eclaration of Intent". Are you (i.e. the candidate) mutually open to such negotiations, and how will you communicate with other EDEN countries on this matter?

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith from Pifreak
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jb, cham, jeff
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus, you're up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith 2 more questions and then the open debate
jbdivinus Our attack on the UK was a block in the first place, to help a fellow EDEN country, as they have helped EDEN time and time again. I trust our allies to help us if the UK is foolish enough to attack Canadian soil. It has been done before, and we returned stronger than ever. However, avoiding being invaded would be something I think we can all admit is what
jbdivinus we should be aiming for. We need to bring the attack to them
jbdivinus However, if necessary, it is important as a leader I am able to put aside my pride and do what is best. For Canada, first, and then for EDEN. Whatever that means, I will do.
jbdivinus At this point, I do not believe negotiating with the UK is in our interests, and I would not engage in them now. I do not know how the future will play out, but as a leader I need to keep all my options open, always. Know that I will not hesitate to make the important decisions. But until I need to make one, I will consider everything.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jbdivinus, your time is now up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar you're up
Chamrajnagar I am open to all negotiations, of course. However, it is not in my interest to close the war with the eUK at present. As a strict roleplayer like I was back in October, during my last run, I would be adamant against leaving such a war open, with 14 strong MPPs against us.
Chamrajnagar However, learning more of the actual game mechanics, I am not as worried about it. If absolutely everything goes against us, as it did last summer, we do have the strength of both body and heart to rise up. Closing the war would also mean that we would be unable to block the eUK, which is essential to our allies.
Chamrajnagar So I would be certainly willing to listen to what Dish has to say, and even bring it to our allies for consultation. However, my opinion right now is no peace with the eUK
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you Chamrajnagar, your time is now up
Chamrajnagar END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith from jefflav: I think that we should have weekly meetings to dicuss this matter and that we should get our army stronger and bigger like i said a bit higher and i agree with the point pointed out by Jbdvinius
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith END
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith He is leaving us now
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith the debate will continue with 2
* jefflav has quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #9: As president, what do you plan to be your priorities to do? Do you plan to focus mainly on Economics? Domestic Situations? Military? Diplomatics? Something Else? And Why?
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith cham, jb
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar, youre up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith that question is from AngryMobMan
Chamrajnagar My main goal will be player retention.
Chamrajnagar This, however, requires plans in all aspects of life. Player Retention is, in my opinion, the biggest influence on a country's wellbeing
Chamrajnagar With more active players, our economy, military, and social aspects all increase.

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you cham, your time is now up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus
jbdivinus Cham has the right idea on this, but I think that we need to focus on other issues, which will have a cascade effect and bring in new citizens, as well as increase retention rates
jbdivinus These issues are our economy, and our military.
jbdivinus My primary goal, as I have mentioned, is to increase our gold reserves through several different methods, involving the monetary market, selling products, adjusting tax laws for optimal efficiency, and creating an accurate budget, and I will also be looking at the creation of a bank, among other things
jbdivinus As for our military, I will be having regular meetings with High Command to talk to about CAF PR and internal affairs.
jbdivinus I have decided to have an Office of Strategic Services to overview military affairs not pertaining to the CAF
jbdivinus This will expand our military potential, and as seen with the success of crimson canucks, increase player activity and retention.
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Thank you jbdivinus, your time is now up

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Question #10: To both candidates, what role will their VP play in their government and how will they be used?

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith jbdivinus, you're up first
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith should anyone have any debate topics they'd like to see the candidates discuss, please send me a PM
jbdivinus As I have shown in my cabinet, I do not have an assigned VP. Rather, I have a Senior Advisor (Scrabman) a National Policy Advisor (Adasko) and a newly introduced Chief of Staff (Fram) They will have rank in the order I mentioned, if the situation arises where this is important
jbdivinus Also, I have a 'department head' for the military, economy, and domestic affairs, being Chuck_Norris, SirShaun, and Wilhelm Gunter.
jbdivinus As far as a 'VP' goes, it would have to be my opponent who comes in second place, as they will be second in line should I be unable to continue my duties ingame
jbdivinus They will be responsible for discussing all policy decisions with me, and for helping organize the rest of cabinet
jbdivinus I plan on giving responsibility to many of the proven leaders in my cabinet, not only the VP. My administration will truly be a team of equals.
jbdivinus END

SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you jb, your time is now up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith Chamrajnagar, you're on the clock
Chamrajnagar My VP, Acacia Mason, is my right hand man. He will be helping both think of and implement new ideas
Chamrajnagar As stated previously, my runner up would recieve both a PM mask, and command channel access.
Chamrajnagar He would essentially be my left-hand man.
Chamrajnagar Able to put forward his own ideas, and to help me implement mine.
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith thank you cham
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith your time is now up
SirDeLaShaunRonSmith this concludes the question portion of the debate
