Country Top Tens #11

Day 2,271, 01:26 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Equalist

Major changes continue in the top 10 as the search for a new stable alliance continues. In the population category, changes that have never been seen since I began records occurred.

After many cases of countries falling and becoming empires again in a matter of minutes, the numbers as of last night were the following. Serbia was on a roller coaster ride but as of now ended up much more powerful than the previous week. Major gains were seen with Romania and the United States, with considerable gains by Taiwan and Argentina as well. Hungary was the biggest loser, losing almost 1,000 points and its empire status. Meanwhile, the UK continues to climb the rankings after further success in Scandinavia.

It would appear that the downward trend that has been seen over the last few months is coming to an end. Populations are beginning to grow in most countries and those that still lose are not losing at a major rate. Eight out of the top ten countries grew in population, which is the first time since this series began that a majority of the countries grew. It will be interesting to see if the trends continue to shift towards increased populations, or if this week is just an outlier.
