Country Merging (My thoughts)

I think I will vote for you. What do you think about trying to do a peaceful merge with Malaysia or Thailand or both in order to fill jobs and grow territory. This way we will be less vulnerable, have a larger workforce, and help these nations' economies.

This is a good question Cid. What exactly are my thoughts on this growing Issue.


The Pro's:
The pro's of this kind of thing are that we would get a bigger workforce, a bigger defense force and in general more land and citizens. This would allow us to gain more money for our treasury via taxes on the new citizens and the new companies and goods sold.

The Cons:
It makes Political Take Over's a very very real threat. Not only do we not know who their citizens are, we dont know who their PTO forces are. We do not know which of their political parties are loyal to their country or which are just PEACE forces in the guise of citizens.


My Thoughts:

After weighing the Pros and Cons, at this time unless we could assure that no PTO forces are in the countries we are talking about merging with, we might want to hold back. Sure the idea of expansion is an attractive one and has me very interested but the risks are really NOT worth the problems it could bring. Maybe once I know more details about the two countries we are thinking of taking over or merging with, I would be more at ease. If someone feels like giving me more of a detailed overview, I might even change my opinion but I will not blindly march down the path of war or expansion unless I know for sure what we are looking at.

Now, if details show that we could safely merge or safely occupy one of these countries and that it would not open us up to a huge risk of PTO/losing control of our decently run country, then I would agree to go into at least one of the countries and would even lead the charge with my SDF platoon if given the honor.

The last thing I want is for us to invade a nation, make waves in the international community and be forced into one of the big two alliances.

Anyway, like I said, Pending details, my initial thought is no but if given some details or more information, my opinion may change.
