Conversation in Iran with SEAL Team 6's Josh Frost

Day 692, 17:51 Published in USA Albania by KOSOVA Batoa

This interview was conducted in Iran during the last hour of the final winning RW in Northern India. When the wall was still at +100k.

First off. A salute to the efforts of all who participated in the recent “ TRI-RW.“ A gallant effort to liberate the oppressed people living in lands occupied by a hostile Iran. And a congratulations on the win!

This, at the very least, unequivocally demonstrates eAmerica's dedication and commitment to it's Allies.

Now down to business. I tried to keep this concise as possible.

Mizu: Josh Frost. Creator/Leader of SEAL Team 6. Who is he? What is his background?

Frost: Well, I was a Lt., Division XO, and then a Brigadier General in the Airborne. I was also the XO of the Air Force which I helped build from the ground up. It was a PTO/Anti-PTO force. After that I served in the eUSA Marines. I have served two terms in Congress and served two terms as Secretary of Defense. I probably made my first big splash in erepublik when I paid for American voters to go over to Spain to help stop a Hungarian PTO. That was a huge amount of fun at the time. After that I tried to get involved in as many things as I could.

Mizu: What eMechanics, ePolitical or eSocial Issues would you say you feel passionately about?

Frost: First, I feel that all nations in erepublik should be returned to their natural in-game borders. I'm tired of looking at a map with little splotches of Iran, Indo, Russia, and Hungary all over it. I also feel passsionately about new player education and military training for the newer players, which is why about 40% of the SEALS roster is composed of newer players. I feel they have a right to have fun and to learn so they stick with the game. Letting newer players rot because there is no space in the military or because there are no organizations for them to join is basically like sentencing this nation to a slow death.

Mizu: I'm curious how the ST6 idea was born and built. Tell me more.

Frost: I always enjoyed the military and I felt that since the military is currently overloaded, that this would be a good way to get people involved. A lot of branches have huge numbers and huge waiting lists to get in, so I decided to give this a shot and see if it was popular or not. I started off PM'ing people and got about 65 recruits within about 8 hours. After that I published an article and got another 70 more in another 24 hours. I keep getting requests, but unfortunately, I don't have the personal funds or donations to go over 135 members. Otherwise I would try to hit at least 150. That said, it has been extremely successful from a participation standpoint. We have roughly a 95% deployment rate up to this point and that is with people buying their own tickets.

The TRI-RW - "...its almost like wearing nothing at all."

Mizu: Okay, finally, the TRI-RW. Pyongan while the Iranians were sleeping in bed, then Uttar Pradesh @ 23:50 btw, then to top it off, Northern India a half hour later. I almost had a... well anyways, I got excited. How did the planning of this come about?

Frost: Initially Woxan and I talked it over and then the eUSA military got involved and then EDEN was game for it too. Initially Woxan and I planned to just get a few smaller nations to lend support in a single RW, but it seemed to grow and grow. Essentially nobody likes sitting on their ass doing nothing and taking a shot at freeing India and North Korea's regions was a worthy cause.

Mizu: It must have taken a lot of heads working together to make this happen. Is there anyone else you'd like to mention?

Frost: Well, the second part of the mission was not my idea, so I can't take credit for that. You can give credit for that to guys like Harlot, Lucius Varenus, shoot, and all our other EDEN allies. That said it was fun watching Iran flush over 4000 or 5000 gold down the toilet trying to hold off the SEALS in North Korea and EDEN and the USA everywhere else.

Mizu: What sort of tactics, without giving anything away, were employed in this TRI-RW? Feel free to be vague, if necessary, to safeguard future operational integrity.

Frost: The main tactic used in a RW is misdirection. Other than that it's pretty straightforward unlike a country on country fight where you can use retreats and a wide variety of other things to set the stage to get a situation favorable to you.

Mizu: Loved your Iranian avatar btw. A great example of why every citizen should be subscribed, and following the DoD orders. So as not to be fooled by enemy misdirection techniques.

Frost: Yeah, that is an old trick. It pulled in a little damage for the good side, but evidently not enough. LOL

Mizu: For a young player like me, it can be difficult to imagine the resources it takes to pull something like this off. The massive amounts of Gold, Weapon's stockpiling in multiple orgs, Moving Tickets, Gifting + Box's for tanks. Can you say anything about what this entails?

Frost: Generally, I buy about 250 Q1's ahead of time, but gun prices are getting so cheap, that I am not going to bother anymore. It probably costs us around 130-140 gold just for guns for the SEALS. Moving tickets are easy since our guys buy them themselves. They just love to fight. Then you have to have a company in the country you are RW'ing against in order to let guys work towards their HW medal. That said PM'ing orders to 140 SEALS is a chore and QMG'ing sucks too. LOL I see a few promotions in the SEALS near future, I won't be able to do it forever.

Mizu: Knowing that ST6 is mostly self-funded. I'm aware that there are a lot of players who would like to be a part of this, and the roster is full for now. How else can eUS Citizens show their support for the SEAL's?

Frost: I probably give about 120-140 gold to the SEALS a week. We also rely heavily on donations from the American people, which I appreciate because a good percentage of it comes from the lower leveled players rather than the "richer ones". If the American people want to help they can donate to the SEAL Team 6 org ( http://www2.erepublik.com/en/organization/1973352 ) or write their congressmen and congresswomen to see if they can toss a little spare change the SEALS way to ease the burden on my credit card.

Mizu: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Frost: I just want to encourage the American people to get active in the game. Join the SEALS when our roster has open spots. Join the mentoring program and help people. Join the military and fight. Join a political party. Do whatever it is that interests you. If we keep people active and interested it only benefits the country and leads to us ultimately defeating PEACE.

I'd like to thank Josh Frost for taking his time to do this interview. And to share my appreciation for the SEAL's with all of you. It's a pleasure being a part of this Team.

If anyone has any additional Q's for Frost. Pls post them below and I'll ask him to reply when he gets a chance. Also want to personally thank ALL the men & women of different nationalities involved in the TRI-RW. Excellent job, keep it up!
