Considerations

Day 1,668, 11:18 Published in Japan Japan by Boukun Suzaku

Greetings eJapan,
Some of you know a little about me, but I'll bet most don't know of my existence as a citizen here. I am crawling up out of the legions of "two-clickers" and getting more and more involved with the social aspects of eRepublik. One of the steps I am taking in that regard, will be to run for congress next time the vote comes up for that. Now that you've stopped laughing and changed your pants, we'll move on. 😉 I am considering Shikoku but not really hard set on that. I am a member of Team Nippon, and Teishin Shudan, but will not be asking for any official backing of either, or any other official group.

So, some things about me then. I am TN but very much not a fan of Geezus, and would love to see him gone from eJapan, that said, I'm also not some mindless fool that thinks Geezus is incapable of good ideas or working for eJapan. Similarly I do not blindly follow any of the other cult-of-personalities that sway dozens of eJapan players with their words/orders/deeds. Those of you that have seen my comments in articles or IRC already know I am not "Politically Correct" or very "warm n fuzzy". I can be quite acidic, sarcastic, and vindictive. I've also ended up in more than a few "flame wars" rather than just ignore people's provocations.

While all this is true, I am also NOT the type to resort to mindless and incessant personal insults and immature behavior, such as displayed by certain current ministers. I supported both Squibeel and Sumeragi during their presidencies and think both moved this eCountry forward and in the right direction, though I do have reservations about the long term value of the eROC treaty. I still have reservations about Darshu, especially his choices for some ministers, but thus far he has done nothing to warrant me not supporting him during his tenure as well.

I am not one to follow party/MU dictates or policies regarding issues, but prefer to choose my vote on any given issue on its own merit, as objectively as possible. One of the most important things a person in a leadership role MUST do imo, is be able to divorce personal feelings/agendas from what the faction as a whole needs or what is good for the whole. This is something I see sorely lacking all around at the moment, and is one of the reasons for me stepping out of the herd and into the light. Another major issue to me is allowing these veteran players back into prominent roles, solely because they are veterans. In my opinion, some of them have comported themselves in such a fashion as to be more detrimental to eJapan than any benefit we may get from their "experience with game mechanics."

Alright, now you have a few vague ideas about me, and my opinions on recent/current politics, so what do I intend to do if elected? My goals are to see this country continue to move forward, towards strength and prosperity. I want to see a level of mature behavior returned to this country and its ministers, congress, and prominent citizens. I want to see civil discussions and debates on important issues congress needs to vote on, not frivolous impeachment attempts, constant whining and trolling. I'm hardly perfect, or sin free, as I mentioned when it comes to trolling or bickering, but I can promise to try to remain objective and focused on what is good for eJapan both short term and long term.

I will answer questions posted via comments below to help people get a better understanding of me, but I will report inappropriate material and ignore flames and trolls, if their comments are not reportable.
