Hello There Everyone!
This update took a little longer than expected, but my first one was a little early - so it's a good trade off
Discussion has begun to pick up in congress. I felt at first that a lot of junior congressmen were just being told how to vote on certain issues. It doesn't seem that way anymore. Junior congressmen have begun to find their voice, they're making threads, making discussion, actively contributing, and being a productive part of congress. I, personally, seek answers for every bill and try to contribute to every thread. I do not vote unless I feel comfortable/knowledgeable doing do.

Saturday May 28th, 7:56 PM EST – I proposed a bill to transfer $99,999 USD from the country accounts to the CBO

Saturday May 28th, 2:41 PM EST – I voted no against astroconfuseder’s proposal of Venezuela as a natural enemy.
• This bill was not discussed beforehand, and is thus contrary to our constitution.
• I disagree with this bill.
Saturday May 28th, 7:47 PM EST – I voted no against Emerick’s proposal to MPP with Serbia
• Serbia has long been an enemy of ours and has fought us and our allies many times. I would need a good argument to get me to vote yes, but not a single argument was put forward.

What I didn’t Vote On:
Recently, the president of Taiwan proposed a MPP with us. Taiwan is neither an Eden country nor a Terra country, so I wasn’t going to immediately vote yes on this proposal. Especially, given that China and Taiwan do not have the best relationship and we are currently allied with China. When I finally found out that the MPP is fine and voting yes would be ok, it was too late to vote. It did pass overwhelmingly, though.
My Forum Votes:
Tuesday, May 31st 2:38 AM EST - I voted no against loaning gold to the Egyptian government.
• Essentially, the issue is that Egypt got wiped and their government lost access to their country accounts, and thus the gold necessary to fund resistance wars. This vote was to determine if we'd loan them an amount of gold so that they could start resistance wars and reclaim their territory - paying us back when they got access to their country accounts. I was not confident that we'd be paid back nor was I convinced as to why it was a good thing for us to do. The vote passed.
Thursday, June 2nd 10:17 PM EST - I voted yes for appointing Uhriventis as IES director.
• Our IES director can no longer perform his job, so we need to find a replacement. Our nomination thread left Uhriventis as the only nominee, so this thread was to determine whether or not he had the approval of congress. The vote passed.
Thursday, June 2nd 10:24 PM EST - I voted no for appointing Rainy Sunday as the Greatest Whip of All Time.
• I've never interacted with Rainy Sunday or heard why I should vote yes. Afterward, I was told some reasons why they vote was happening - but it wasn't enough to convince me she was the greatest whip of all time. It just seemed like a silly thing that was a waste of Congress' time. The vote passed.
Monday, June 6th 4:03 PM EST - I voted yes for our updated weekly budget.
• This is the updated weekly budget. The only change is that we're making more money and OMS is receiving $10,000 more. Since there is now so much money going into our reserves, we've begun to discuss cutting taxes.
