Congressional Platform December 2009

Day 759, 14:32 Published in Canada Canada by 20person

As the holidays arrive, so do the Congressionals.I will be running as a candidate under the CNC (Canadian National Coalition) in Newfoundland and Labrador. This holiday season, give the country the gift of a congressman with new ideas. Here's what I'll give back to all of you.

After the Presidential elections, I became the Deputy Health Minister. I have done a very good job in this role so far. One of my goals is to get the program Meals on Wheels Canada running again.(For more information click here), so that everyone has access to food and health.

I also support the raising of import taxes slightly. This will help Canadian businesses do better. At the same time, foreign companies will not be too discouraged as to abandon Canada. The minimum wage can stay the same. Most companies pay more than the minimum wage, even for skill 0 jobs, so there is no point. I think income tax should stay the same. The government should not lower taxes so much that no money is made, but they shouldn't make us pay even more than we already do.

As for the military, I feel the need to build defence systems in at least on of our fortress regions. Fortress regions have been known to deter the enemy, or at least slow them down, like Florida and Ontario during World War III. A defence system would boost the damage required to conquer a region, potentially saving us from conquest.
