Congressional Happenings - Virginia

Day 563, 07:52 Published in USA USA by Dmalicious

As promised in my campaign and last voting record, I will be posting my in-game and forum voting record in the eMerica Gazette today. The next voting record will be published on June 10.

In Game Voting Record

Peace with Poland
Vote: Yea
Reason: The only way to help Germany at this point is through diplomacy, not militarily.

Minimum Wage proposal
Vote: Nay
Reason: Lulz Proposal

Czech MPP
Vote: Nay
Reason: Having the USA paying a majority of the MPP - moreso than we would with a normal MPP, undermines our MPP budget and is a risk to our national security by undermining our funding for further MPP negotiations

Oil tax change
Vote: Nay
Reason: To protect American businesses from foreign competition, I have voted nay on this import tax change, especially when we have high oil regions in the USA

Peace with Brazil
Vote: Yea
Reason: I asked eVirginians of their thoughts on the issue and they overwhelmingly asked me to vote yes. Most opposition came from citizens outside of Virginia.

Donate to CBO
Vote: Yea
Reason: June budget passed

Issue Money
Vote: Proposed; yea
Reason: To keep the exchange rate between USD and gold at the agreed level of 0.02

Finnish MPP
Vote: Yea
Reason: An MPP with Finland enriches our national security and is an asset for the eUSA in the post-ATLANTIS world

Wood tax change
Vote: Nay
Reason: We have high wood regions in the USA, therefor it is imperative to protect our business(wo)men from foreign competition. In this vote I am placing American businessmen over foreign businessmen.

Bosnian MPP
Vote: Yea
Reason: Bosnia is paying for the entirety of the MPP, therefor there is no reason to vote nay.

Donate Money
Vote: Yea
Reason: June budget passed

Moving ticket tax change
Vote: Nay
Reason: To protect American businesses from foreign competition, it is necessary to keep moving ticket tariffs at current levels.

Crotian MPP
Vote: Yea
Reason: Croatia is a strong and loyal ally, there is no reason to deny them another MPP

Forum Votes
Note: Links will not be posted and votes pertaining to issues of national security will not be addressed

Change the name of "The House of Representin'"
Vote: Yea
Reason: The current name of the congressional chamber is not of an acceptable standard for the position the eUSA hopes to attain in the eWorld

Constitution of the United States
Vote: Yea
Reason: To provide an admin-approved legal framework for the eUSA government

Congressional Deployment Limitations Act
Vote: Yea
Reason: To better prevent senators from having to choose between the military and their elected posts and to enhance the public trust of congress

Helping Ireland
Vote: Nay
Reason: It seems contradictory to purchase infrastructure for another nation when we aren't expanding infrastructure coverage here at home

Congressional Happenings

Since the last publication of my congressional happenings report, I am pleased to say I have been very active in the congress. I have taken part in various debates on numerous issues ranging from infrastructure placement to the current funding levels of the CBO to the fate of the foreign currency reserves of the United States.

I am also pleased to announce that in the next few days, I, alongside New York senator cerb and California senator Thomas. Anderson we will be launching a non-profit organization dedicated to the expansion of Q5 healthcare coverage in the eUSA. This organization is to be known as the American Health Foundation and will start operating within the next week.

I have also organized the first US Census in months and will continue to provide valuable facts and figures to the eUSA congress throughout my term.

Sincerely,
Your senator,
Dmalicious
