Congress Update!

Day 1,765, 08:28 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Lord Lewis Cromwell

Hi everyone!

In this update I'd like to apologise for being later than usual in making an update article, I've had a flu since the weekend so not been able to think coherently! As usual I have some interesting news to fill a page with!

War!
Yes! Sooner than expected, war is upon us! Fret not, though, for it is a non-consequential turn of events ultimately proving our glory over controversy. Initially our allies Poland and Macedonia were righteously at war with France for their transgressions, breaking treaties and basically being poor sportsmen in general. As a display of their poor sportsmanship France typically refused to accept being beaten fairly and so decided to try to invade us, the recently neutral eUK, and make our homeland their's by right of dominance which they could never sustain. They failed at the first step in the South West of England and thus there is nothing to worry about from France for us at the moment.

However, we have recently been improving relations with our neighbour Ireland for the good of both our nations. Part of our agreement in recent months has been that we swap our Scotland and Northern Ireland for their Dublin and Louth regions, giving both of our nations a larger resource bonus and enabling trust between our two nations overall.

Recently, the irish government wanted Dublin back as it's their capital region. Being of improved relations and on friendlier terms, we (Congress) approved the plans to swap Dublin for Wexford and thus display our wishes for a happier agreement between us. However, upon the mixture of France's invasion draining our attention at the same time as a necessary irish attack on North East of England to initiate the swapping procedure, as well as the interference of Ireland's ill-wishing neighbours trying to interfere with a genuine peace deal we are on the defensive against an alliance of betrayers.

What now?
We will uphold our peace deal agreement with Ireland. Letting some interfering, disrespecting nations take advantage of an open battle on our homeland to ruin a long-term relation for us is unacceptable, therefore we will fight back to get our peace terms back into place and our agreement will be re-established. Do not harbour any ill wishes for our irish neighbours in this time of our peaceful wishes. Instead, we have seen that their desperate allies have no wishes for Ireland's peace and prosperity and thus cannot be trusted.

This week in Congress
It's been a quiet week for our Congress in general, with the next Congress elections looming over us many members of parliament are preparing their manifestos and election plans. It has been a successful term for most members of Congress with only very few (around 10😵 of our Congress not participating in the overall efforts, and so I'd like to wish all upcoming candidates the best of luck in this month's elections and urge everyone to vote for who they think deserves their vote.

Allies
We have renewed our Mutual Protection Pacts (MPP's) with our friends in Estonia and Bulgaria, who will remain stalwart allies in our perpetual plans for a better, sovereign eUK. We thank them for their continued support and look forward to fighting beside them!

IRC Chat
I released this article earlier this week detailing IRC, it's usage and it's benefits to our nation. Give it a read, give IRC a go and get more involved in your community here in eUK!

Finally
This week's praise goes out to the new Party Presidents (PP's) of our multitude of parties, whose responsibilities in making this month's Congress elections smooth and without corruption for another great month are invaluable. Enabling Congress/Parliament to function by enabling strong, active people is a difficult task for the PP's and so I wish all the best of luck in constructing a quality Congress for the national good.

Be cool, stay cool!
