Congress elections

Day 946, 14:36 Published in Netherlands United Kingdom by Jos Alembic

Comrades, friends, readers,

First I'd like to apologise myself for my inactivity of these last few days. Luckily some comrades have stepped up and candidated themselves. I especially welcome Derkk's platform, which is the only one so far (which makes this the second one).

At the time of writing we have no less than 7 candidates standing:
For the West we have:
- Ian Reinders
- Leon.exe
For the North:
- Joe Memphis
For the East:
- Matic Borovinsek
- Her Direcktor
- Derkk
And for the South:
- Jos Alembic

Of these only Derkk and myself are active community members, most others are sadly two-clickers.
A special note about Matic Borovinsek: This is one of the crew that tried to PTO the party at the recent PP elections. This individual will not be endorsed.
Also, Leon.exe played his part in preventing a Hungarian PTO from happening, for which I thank him here.

A gentle reminder to all candidates that if you get elected you'll have to pay 1 gold to enter Congress as per rules of the Congress.

Given the late post, I'll allow all candidates to write up their own platform, as long as they fit with the general principles (not policies) as established by Pierre Delvaux at the last elections.

Now we have that established, this is my particular platform:
1. Communes and wage: As Derkk noted, we recently started a commune project. Communes are clusters of companies in which workers get a minimum wage but also all products that are created for free. Given this logic I stand for lowering the minimum wage. I understand this looks like a radical break from my previous election platform, but closer inspection learns otherwise. My overall desire is to improve the wellbeing of all workers and given my knowledge at the previous election, standing for a raise was a logical stance. Given the commune project however, the objective situation changed decisively in favor of lowering the wage and thereby making the commune stronger. Note: Communes are open for everyone (but only party members may vote on communal administration).
2. Leave Phoenix and refuse to participate in imperialist politics: This stance has not changed since my previous election platform.
3. Standing for broader democracy: A stance taken over from Pierre's previous election platform. Communists stand for the most radical form of democracy and I keep this banner high.

I hope I can count on your vote!
