Congress Elections

Today we come onto Congress Elections, the first step in your political career. The first achievement earned on eRepublik is a Congress medal from gaining a seat in congress. Working for 30 day's and training until 5 strength is reached is different because they take minimal effort.
Getting into congress take effort, you must prove yourself to the party president of the Party you are in. The Party President can decide in which order he would like to players to be put in the election list!
If you have proved yourself to be a good player and have a good understanding of the game then you may well be accepted to run for congress, every party is only allowed to run 2 official candidates for the elections in each region.
To get into congress you need to be active on the forums because that is where all party discussion happens along with votes and discussions on the eUK if you get into congress. New players are always welcome to run in most party's just last term many newish players joined congress for the first time along with players like Certacito who is the longest serving congressman serving every term of our Great nations history on eRepublik.

The best way to get into congress is to join one of the top 5 party's as only they can propose congress members for congress.
Go to the ranking page and get party's up and the UK - or click on join party and chose, chose wisely and go on policy instead of name

Secondly i strongly suggest get active on the forums especially on your regions page and party's page, proving you can handle politics and at the same time gaining support from your regions players.
You PP will assign you a region to run in, mind out this may not be your original region because they may already be active players there who are long time serving and put a lot into the party and the eUK.

Congress election can run smoothly and be a bit hectic sometimes, the best way's to insure that you achieve a seat is to get a campaign going, you must be active and willing to put a lot of effort in if your party doesn't normally get big votes in the Region.
Messaging lot's of people is always a good idea, this is sometime seemed as old and can be a complete waste of time, the best plan is to get a list of every player in your region and make sure there wellness is above 40 because they should be able to vote and are active enough to read your manifesto.
Advertisement is the easiest part but requires some Gold to get a lot of votes most players just get them on election day if the elections are not going there particular way. This was proved recently as a good election tip as it led UKRP to gain seat's overall with the PP spending a lot of gold on advertisement.
Writing a manifesto, this should outline why you are running and what you want to achieve for your country and your region. Writing articles generally will gain your paper subscriptions and so get your paper into the national rankings.

A congress players life is not just about getting into congress though, all of the discussions take place on the forums which are very important to the county because it can decide what happens such as economic war Alliance ect. We knew about Phoenix (although not the name) before any other players and leaving peace, if you want to know about the news before it becomes public then come and join.
