So you want to run for congress?

First

If you win this is what happens:

1: You get 5 gold.
2: You get to vote on stuff like taxes, Natural enemies and you can also grant citizenship to people.

But this article is how to run and win.

First, people think they can run with an agenda like it was some kind of real election. It is not like a real election, this is about gaining 5 gold nothing more.

1: Campaign

You can´t start your campaign 2 days before the election, unless you have like 20 friends that will vote for you no matter what. You have to start much earlier. I call it cultivate people. People will not vote for you cause you are a stand up guy, they will vote for you cause you make it easy to vote for you.

The people that will vote for you can be found in your party or same military unit or... and here we have the important stuff, cause you helped them. You gave them food, weapons and love when they were low level, you were their rock when they were confused and new in this game. If you help people when they where new most people will help you when you want to gain 5 gold.

2: Costs

For example, you are running in Arizona, only people that is in AZ will be able to vote for you and most of the guys voting for you live elsewhere. So you need them to move to AZ, cast their vote and then they want to go home. This is a cost. You need to pay their tickets. Now you think, well that is easy, "i need 20 votes, a ticket cost 20 USD... 20*20 = 400... (And they want to go home so double it), i can do that". Well you really need those votes so to motivate people a lot of guys throws in a bonus, "if i win i will give everyone 100 USD", this will motivate new guys to do whatever you want, hell you can get a newbie to light himself on fire for 1 000 USD, with 100 you get him to read instructions and vote. Lets say 15 of the 20 want that bonus, 800+15*100= 2300 USD.

3: How to

People are idiots and new people are even more stupid. You need to make a page on how to vote for you, skip the parts what you will do when you get elected, no one cares, but a simple "how to vote for me" with clear instructions is important.

You need a voting for dummies, with pictures so that everyone know how to vote.

etc...

If your instructions are sloppy you will loose peoples interest. If you do this one right you can use it over and over again. This is probably the second most important thing to win an election. Do not throw something together, do it good, very good.


4: Where to run?

Go to:

Community
Elections
Select elections
All regions

Now look around, and you will see how many votes it takes to win, some states you will need 40 voters other, 6. You will need at least the double to win, since people are idiots and say "yeah i will vote for you" and then they forget.
