Congrats 123rd Congress!

Day 3,752, 11:09 Published in USA Peru by Hazelrah

Congress in eUSA is, for many, the first step out of party projects and local discussion and onto the national stage. It can serve as a stepping stone for those hoping to find their way to a Presidential Cabinet. It allows social players to cut their chops with other strong personalities with whom they may disagree, misunderstand, or even hurl insults at. Congress also allows a greater security clearance than the average citizen, and therefore provides more of an education and reward than simply a few gold (which most end up donating). It's been one of my favorite modules of the game for years, and even though the party voting system has taken away some of the rush of election night, it remains a fun and exciting competition with the fate of some players lying in the hands of a single vote. I'm happy to once again have the privilege of representing you.

Take a look at my analysis of this month's Congress election below.

Actual vs. Expected Results

Given the vote turnouts in previous months, and a prediction of 52 regions controlled, here were my
Expected Results:

Feds - 140 Votes - 31.46% - 16 Seats
eCP - 90 Votes - 20.22% - 11 Seats
BSP - 85 Votes - 19.1% - 10 Seats
SFP - 80 Votes - 17.98% - 9 Seats
WTP - 50 Votes - 11.24% - 6 Seats

Temporary Results Prior to Multi/Region Adjustment

Feds - 135 Votes - 30.47% - 16 Seats
eCP - 104 Votes - 23.48% - 12 Seats
SFP - 88 Votes - 19.86% - 11 Seats
BSP - 65 Votes - 14.67% - 7 Seats
WTP - 51 Votes - 11.51% - 6 Seats

Official Results - 53 Regions

Feds - 134 Votes - 30.32% - 16 Seats
eCP - 104 Votes - 23.53% - 12 Seats
SFP - 88 Votes - 19.91% - 11 Seats
BSP - 65 Votes - 14.71% - 8 Seats
WTP - 51 Votes - 11.54% - 6 Seats

Gains and Losses

You can see that only one vote was removed from Feds during the recount. The 53rd region present at the time of the count enabled BSP to snag an 8th seat they would not have otherwise received.

This month sees the total number of seats drop from 55 to 53.

The Federalists dropped from 18 seats to 16 seats or from 32.7% of Congress to 30%.

The Constitutionalists increased from 10 seats in January to 12 seats in February or from 18.2% to 22.6% of Congress.

The Socialists increased from 10 seats in January to 11 seats in February or from 18.2% to 20.8% of Congress.

The Black Sheep got 20 fewer votes than expected, but still benefited from the late region addition. Black Sheep dropped from 10 seats in January or 18.2% to 8 seats or 15.1% in February.

We The People lost one seat from January going from 12.7% of Congress to 11.3%.

Balance of Power

The Feds and eCP have historically voted more similarly, giving them another slight majority this month with 52.8% of Congress.

The balance currently sits at 28 Fed/eCP to 25 SFP/BSP/WTP.

The actual effect of this balance on legislation will depend highly on quorum, activity, and consistency among the parties.

Congratulations to the following official members of the 123rd Congress!
