Company Guide v 0.5 beta release

Today I announce the release of a new company calculator that I have made. It is essentially an Excel spreadsheet containing all formulas required to calculate the performance of different company types in your individual economic conditions. I feel this is the perfect time for people to consider exactly which companies are worth investing in, with recent economic module updates and the end of a company upgrade offer approaching.

Requirements

You will need a recent version of Excel (2007 or later) to open this calculator with full functionality. It is an xlsx file. I expect this will limit the number of people who can actually use the calculator at this stage, so I would like to make a normal xls file as well in future so that more people can use this.

Key features:

- Enter current market values, taxes, bonuses, etc. for your individual needs.

- Calculate daily production volumes and earnings.

- Calculate the amount of days to repay the cost of any type of company, and you can factor in the company upgrade discount.

- Modify worker usage to find the best possible worker allocation for any company type.

- Company types receive an Investment Score (scaled from 0 to 10), as an indication of which company types are suitable for your economy.

- Test any conditions to see how they will impact different companies.

- Formulas and constants are protected so you won't accidentally mess them up, and there is some programming to help you input valid numbers.


Screenshots

The sheet you see when you open the file, provides instructions for use and allows you to input current variables manually. I have used Australia day 1542 data as an example.



When the form is complete, switch to the output tab to see the calculations. You can adjust the worker usage and see how the company types compare.

Feedback

This is the first open release so there are bound to be things that can be improved. Please share your experiences and suggestions for consideration in future versions.

The inspiration for this calculator is from an old player named Corny-Ratbag who did something like this ages ago during erepublik V1 in eAustralia. His calculator was called GM Records - let me know if you were alive in V1 and previously used this!
