eIreland Community Awards
There was a very wide spread of nominations this month, with nobody getting more than one or two nominations in any given category. As a result, the shortlist isn’t short at all, with everyone who got a nomination still in the hunt for an award.

Donate 5iep to this Org and PM your chosen number between 1 and 45.
If you don’t PM with a number it will be assumed the money is a no strings donation to the Org, so please PM!
A maximum of five numbers per person, including tickets from a person’s Org. If purchasing tickets via an Org, please identify your citizen account in your PM.
As with the last draw, we will use the RL Irish National Lottery game, Lotto, to select the winner(s). The first ball drawn is the winning number. If there is no match, we move on to the second ball, and so on. In the event there is no winner after all six balls & bonus ball have been drawn, the prize fund rolls over to the following draw.
Entries close at 0000hrs on Day 1170, (0800hrs on Wednesday, February 2nd, RL Irish time). The draw takes place later that evening, 1957hrs RL Irish time. Donations received after the closing date will be entered into the following draw.

I must admit, I’m surprised that nobody managed to answer this question. Well, it was the confectionarily challenged Iain Keers who made this sardonic observation about the then state of eIreland, when many of our territories were occupied by friend and foe alike. A few days later, the map of eUK was looking like spotted dic sitting on an American pie smothered in maple syrup.
Irish State Community Fund
Thanks for your comments and suggestions on how this fund should be invested. Three options came to the fore in the discussion:
1.Use it for Community activities, such as competitions, quizzes, awards, lotteries etc.
2.Start a weekly prize for the best non-government article published in the previous week. Vote once a week with links to the top voted articles. 5 gold each week.
3.Establish a Food company dedicated to providing wellness packs for new citizens

No doubt, the quality of the Awards shortlist would be better if more people took the trouble to send in nominations, that would allow for the elimination of the outliers.
It's not really credible to be highly disappointed about the shortlist if you can't be arsed to send in a nomination in the first place.

Since you ask, OJ, here's my opinion for what it's worth.
Grainne brings qualities to the game which, for some, have an enhancing effect on the overall erep experience; intelligence, humour, perspective, to name a few. People play this game for all sorts of reasons and have different goals and ambitions. All are to be valued. Personally, without the Ni Mhailles of this world, I wouldn't be bothered to play. Not everyone may consider Grainne worthy of recognition, but clearly some do, and I am grateful for that.
What James said. If it was'nt for moo and Nogin I would'nt be playing, though they did a lot of things!

OJ, I nominate people for awards every month. I think it's kinda the least you could do, as a citizen. I've never nominated myself, and yeah I think I'd have a great shot at this new one, but as I said, I'd expect stiff competition.
