Community Awards Results, and the next round of Nominations

Announcing next months awards

The next round of awards are for the entire year of 2011 not just for the month (Please keep this in mind when making your nominations, as for example Patrick O'Leary is eligible for the Newcomer of the Year award despite being fairly old (born in January) and experienced by now. Also former Irish citizens such as Chance Harrison are also eligible for nomination in relevant categories, ie politics.) and as such are extra important. I hope you all make the effort to make it a bigger and better event than normal. You can submit your nominations in this form: http://goo.gl/HRn4u

Results for November

Well better late than never here are the results of November’s Community Awards. They would have been formally shown off with banners and such sooner, but the Ministry held off in the vain hope that you the Community would send in further votes to separate the numerous ties. You didn’t. Only two people bothered to send in extra votes, and this isn’t good enough. I don’t wish to sound grumpy here but the lack of enthusiasm shown there is disheartening. Hopefully the next awards will be more popular.

The wonderful banners for these awards were done up by Eric Last, and I personally think he did a great job of it, and he was fast, efficient, and polite the whole way through. A big thank you to him from The Irish Community!
