Community Awards Q1

Day 1,601, 13:04 Published in Ireland Ireland by The Irish Community

Happy Easter from your Ministers of Community, Patrick “Shorty” O’Leary and James “Pinky” Keiller.

Handbags at dawn

Welcome Home
It’s good to see some great old names returning to the eIrish scene. In the month of April alone we’ve been re-joined by Commius, Mirek12345, Octavius Dryst, Paschoall, Ariovistus, Moonbeam and einberliner, all of whom have made their mark on eIreland in the past. (Apologies to anyone we managed to leave out). A special word of welcome to einberliner, known to many as donut. As a former Minister for Community she set the standard against which all her successors are measured and found wanting.

The eIreland Community Awards
Re-starting the Community Awards scheme is our first priority. We hope that the Awards will continue to run on a quarterly basis from now on. We have beefed up the prize fund by a good chunk and added some fun new categories.

Have a think.

What you need to do...
Consider carefully who deserves recognition in each of the categories below. Send in your nominations by PM to this Org. Nominations forwarded in the comments below will not count. eIrish citizens only may submit nominations. Do try to make a nomination in each category. Just for the hell of it, we’ll send 10 Q5 Food to everyone who nominates in all categories. A shortlist will be published on Day 1609.

The Categories

Most Trusted Politician
Who of the recent TDs/Ministers etc. stands out to you as having fulfilled their campaign promises? Who's been honest and upfront? Who has placed service to eIreland and her citizens before themselves?

Hardest Working Minister
Who in Government has been doing the heavy lifting?

Most Acclaimed Publisher
Whose articles do you never fail to read? Who keeps you informed or entertained, who gets you thinking or explains things you might not have understood nice and clearly? Maybe they do all of the above.

Article of the Quarter
Which article did you enjoy most this quarter? It must have been published in eIreland or be an article about eIreland.

Most Celebrated Soldier
Which of our soldiers stands out to you as one who should be applauded? Maybe they're a great leader, a tireless fighter - maybe they're both.

Best General Manager
Whose company/companies are always well stocked with raw materials? Maybe they stand out for another reason - do they offer any perks you couldn't get elsewhere, or are the wages generous? If you think a general manager deserves praise here's your chance to give it to them.

Newcomer to Watch
Who, eBorn January 1, 2012 or later, has already made an impression? Are they getting involved already, making their voice heard? Nominate them here.

Irelander of the Quarter
This can be anyone, for any reason. One Irish citizen who stands out to you as deserving of an award. Maybe they're a trusted politician, and a great manager, and many other things... maybe they've helped you out when times were hard, or worked hard for the nation. Whoever and for whatever reason this is your chance to get them the attention they deserve. For this category a brief explanation of why you're nominating them would be greatly appreciated.

Loveable Rogue
They're mischief but you love them anyway, or they stir the pot without actually doing harm. Does this sound like someone you know? Please nominate them for this one.

Friend of Ireland
What non Irish citizen of eRepublik has done the most for eIreland so far this year? Their contributions can be military, political, social, economic or anything you like. If they helped eIreland more than anyone else then nominate them.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Similar to the eIrelander award but nominees for this award should be people who throughout their eLives have stood out. They may not have constantly held positions of power but maybe they always were there to help you, maybe they turned your political party around, maybe they mentored you to greatness but all this over the longer term. All nominees for this award should have a citizen account at least four months old as of the day nominations open. Prior winners may not be nominated again. That Pantheon includes Nithraldur, Nogin the Nog, Moomoohead, Anaille Kolshire, 5n4keyes, Irishbhoy 1967, Grainne Ni Mhaille, Marcus Suridius and Irish_Rebel_Reborn, Seanan, einberliner and Castaneda.

Now for some new ones. They’re fairly self explanatory.

eIrelander we’d most like to have a pint with

eIrelander we could bring home to our mother

eIrelander most often in-game / irc

Most hilarious comment so far this year.
