Commentary for November: Part 1

Day 1,819, 04:33 by infin

Isn't it great how now there is no Senate there is technically no way to have our judicial officer, Inspector General, removed. The IG could be doing a shithouse job but as long as we have no Senate they stay put indefinitely.

The point was made to our esteemed PM Ranger Bob under the Inspector General Act that he and his Cabinet could vote on removal or renewal of the IG but Ranger Bob predictably declined. So now we have an indefinite status quo because no one is prepared to use any common sense and implement a practical way out of this.

Grow some balls and make it work. What sucks worse than having no IG is having an IG that has an indefinite tenure due to poor legislation. Make an interim measure to deliver proper democracy to the people.

Instead every just sits on their hands OH IT'S NOT MY JOB. Yeah great work everybody.

The Prime Minister should enure a new election is called for IG immediately. Throw the voting open to all Aus citizens on the forum. We have an Aus citizens groupf FOR A REASON.

More to follow...

TREATY YEH, TREATY NOW

Ranger Bob
Ranger Bob Day 1,819, 04:37

As you well know, what I have said is convince me he is doing a shithouse job. I said in forum, that there is presently no compelling reason for the executive to decide it should just remove an IG I don't like. Nor then is there any scope for me to appoint.a new one

Or should I just keep removing them all month so I don't have to be accountable to them?

Ranger Bob
Ranger Bob Day 1,819, 04:38

Actually there's a thought I suppose. TREATY YEAH, TREATY NOW

infin
infin Day 1,819, 04:39

A person's tenure ENDS then they are RELECTED by the electors. It is not indeifinite.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,819, 04:40

Revelling in too many complexities and not keeping things simply and not using common sense approaches is cause enough.

Ranger the issue is that he is trying too hard to be like you. You loved responding with 45,000 page decisions and revelling in complexities, but tbh, it was hell annoying and even you admitted that you just use to do it to confuse everyone. Now we have a guy doing it for real.

Ranger Bob
Ranger Bob Day 1,819, 04:41

Yeah but if that is the reason then it should be up to the relevant reveling in complexity acts, not to the CP. and as I said, given these are indeed complexities its not like I could call another one without then being attacked over role playing.

I think I would just prefer to run the government and allow people to lend oversight and poke holes in my stupidity as necessary without invitation to put my head on the chopping block thanks.

STOP abusing CAPS lock.

Tim_Holtz
Tim_Holtz Day 1,819, 04:45

typical bullshit, the CP ONLY has the right to call for a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE.

end of story, dont like it? get the senate to change the laws when we have one...

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 05:06

So wait... the longest serving IG of eAus and our present CP is being instructed on the IG act by who... ok seriously have you guys got nothing better to do than try to convince people there is a massive fire when there in fact is not even a scent of smoke?

I am pretty sure Ranger knows what he is doing and since there is no complaint or anything against the IG I am struggling to see why this is even and issue when we are dealing with an occupied nation... Sorry Infin, other things to do.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 05:16

the longest serving IG of eAus and our present CP = Ranger BOB

that reads like two people.... its only one.

infin
infin Day 1,819, 06:03

you make it sound like ranger bob by default of his position must always be right. I have been IG too Larni. trustees should always strive for quality and common sense - not just go for safe decision.

Here we have a situation where nominations for IG were called and then all of a sudden - there is no vote. Give our community democracy! This is more of the elitist bullshit - let the people decide.

vergolian
vergolian Day 1,819, 06:25

Good Lord here we go again. While the RP laws are in place the CP is hamstrung so the current I-G stays put until the new Senate. Then again we can play semantics with the I-G Act which quotes the position as an 'independent officer of the Senate', thus without the Senate = has no power. THEN AGAIN (seriously love some of these Senators) - the I-G is the head and the single officer of the Judicial Branch of the eAus Government and therefore not part of the Senate.

RL joke crossover: VPOTUS

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 06:54

No senator called for IG nominations. No complaints have been made about the IG's conduct.

Actually nobody gave a thought to it since we're all busy you know actually doing stuff to contribute rather than reveling in the complexities and spending hours looking for loopholes in an attempt to throw obstacles in the way of the most effective Government in months.

I actually thought the IG position at the moment was redundant since there is no senate. But you know, I like logic over bs....

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 06:56

....(cont) I would add nice try but its really just a serious reach and I doubt anyone is going to take it seriously.

Said it before I'll say it again. If you don't like the laws change them kids.

Mr Crumpets
Mr Crumpets Day 1,819, 16:06

Tim said... "typical bullshit, the CP ONLY has the right to call for a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE."

Actually you're incorrect.

According to the act, the CP, dCP or speaker have the right to move a vote of no confidence.

Then it requires two seconders, who can be cabinet members or senators.

I can point you to the act if you like so you can read it and admit they you got it wrong (You know, it's okay to say "ooops, I got that one wrong")

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 16:37

Even if Ranger or Scottty moved the motion there would be no cabinet members who seconded it. Withered is doing his job when required and certainly done nothing that warrants this attention unless people want to actually start pleading a reason for this to be considered.

What has he done wrong?
Links please and evidence otherwise its a non issue

Tim_Holtz
Tim_Holtz Day 1,819, 17:59

actually no Mr Crumpets i didnt get it wrong, i said the "CP Can ONLY". NOT "ONLY the CP". i didnt mention that the dCp or Speaker could do it since infin is calling Ranger Bob to remove the IG

if you cant figure out your word order then you have serious problems with the english language.

and just so we are clear on context i said the CP can only call a vote of no confidence, meaning he is legally obligated to only use it if the IG has done something wrong which makes confidence lost.

vergolian
vergolian Day 1,819, 18:19

@Larni for the record I was agreeing with you on this one in case you thought otherwise. I was merely explaining the legal issues.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,819, 20:54

"nd since there is no complaint or anything against the IG"

There is. Even you have complained in the past about the silly revelling in complexities.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,819, 20:55

As for all the "ER MERH GERD NO SENATE" people. We don't need a senate to get rid of the IG. This is the core of the problem, letting stupid laws and roleplay hold us back time and time and time again. Then in 2 months time people like larni etc will be complaining that things are hindered by red tape and actions can't be done fast enough.

COMMON SENSE AND SIMPLICITY IS KEY.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,819, 22:39

DD, what are the complaints against Withered?

I am a great hater of red tape and nonsense yes, but you can't simply try and sack someone from a position when they are doing a solid and dependable job.

Truth is that you attempted to be IG, everyone laughed at you and now you are trying this nonsense. I invite anyone to read the thread on the forum. I am sure DocterDry would have no issue with the IG position if he had been allowed to become it.

Our country is wiped, we have no congress, our reserves are being depleted and 2 of our major parties are under PTO. There are more important issues.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,820, 01:24

"DD, what are the complaints against Withered?"

The complaints about unnecessary roleplay and stupid revelling in complexities have been consistent, you shouldn't need to ask, Go back and read the thread. Infact look at my posts in IG cases for the past 3 months and you will see. Also it's not just me with these complaints.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,820, 01:26

"but you can't simply try and sack someone from a position when they are doing a solid and dependable job."

He isn't though, he is purposely revelling in complexities and technicalities to figjam and to act intelligent, instead of using common sense approaches and simplicity in decisions. We don't need 45,000 page response TL;DR's and dissecting of legislation everytime someone farts.

Ranger did this, and he's trying to replicate it. Even Ranger admitted he just did it to confuse people.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,820, 01:28

"Truth is that you attempted to be IG, everyone laughed at you and now you are trying this nonsense."

You are correct, but it's the other way around. I made the nomination thread to hopefully get someone else elected as IG because of the above reasons. People then started trolling saying "i nominate DD2" so i thought "what the hell, i might aswell show them how a non revelling in complexities IG is" and decided to put my hand up for a go.

It's all there to read.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,820, 01:30

" I am sure DocterDry would have no issue with the IG position if he had been allowed to become it."

My issue isn't with the position of IG itself, my issue is with the person executing it. Infin is a prime example of a good IG.
it didn't take a 45 year discussion and dissecting of legislation to come to a decision. Infin wasn't interested in trying to portray himself as intelligent and figjam.I am sick and tired of all this revelling in complexities getting in the way of getting stuff done

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,820, 02:21

DD quote in said nomination thread:
Thanks for the people who nominated me, because i was going to nominate myself

Lolz... you're right mate, it IS all there to read...

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,820, 02:29

Another DD quote from said thread (responding to Mr Crumpets' suggestion the IG had no power to call the unity vote):
P.S thanks for bringing this up, i thought i would allow someone else to slap it down on the table

So let me get this straight, you constantly crusade against people "reveling in complexities", yet here you are, clearly reveling in the complexity of the IG's lack of power to call a unity vote, despite the fact the unity vote was clearly in eAus's best interests at the time.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,820, 04:35

yep that's it b0ffin, this is the mighty world of the ANP... If only they focused on actually helping the enation instead of trying poor political manoeuvres...

"So let me get this straight, you constantly crusade against people "reveling in complexities", yet here you are, clearly reveling in the complexity of the IG's lack of power to call a unity vote, despite the fact the unity vote was clearly in eAus's best interests at the time."

Criticizing an action that has taken place isn't revelling in complexities. I invite you to go look up what we consider complexities, there is many examples of it.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,820, 07:32

This is the mighty world of Larni, living in a delusion where everything done is based of political parties.

I fail to see what the ANP or politics has to do with trying to remove an IG who is holding us back by revelling in unnecessary complexities.

It seems to me you are trying to roleplay by pretending this is to do with political parties, because you are one of the many players against people who revel in complexities and it's well recorded.

Everyone is fed up with it.

vergolian
vergolian Day 1,820, 07:48

Now hold on Larni when did the ANP get dragged into this? I'm in the ANP and frankly I don't see an issue.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,820, 15:21

because the ANP are not responsible for the actions of their members, let alone two of their long time leaders.... I forgot that get of of jail clause.

"Everyone is fed up with it."

You and Infin do not an everyone make.

DocterDry3
DocterDry3 Day 1,820, 19:57

This isn't like real life Daenarys. Political parties aren't responsible for anything anyone does in this game. They are simply a vechicle to run for senate and CP. I am surprised you would even think that. Less roleplay please.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,820, 20:55

um... you are aware who the real roleplayers are Kevin. Open your eyes dear and take a look around.

DocterDry3
DocterDry3 Day 1,820, 21:20

I pay it when i see it.

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,821, 01:27

"Criticizing an action that has taken place isn't revelling in complexities."

DD but you weren't criticising the action (the unity vote), you were criticising the fact the IG called it when he didn't have the power to do so (your/Mr Crumpets' claim - later denied by IG). The fact is, the unity vote was clearly in eAus's interests at the time. Your criticism of the IG for making the right call for eAus, based on (apparent) forum "complexities", is clearly revelling in complexities.

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen
Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen Day 1,821, 02:25

that is how they roleplay b0ffin, actively attempting to disrupt the government by revelling in the paperwork. They must spend hours pouring over it looking for loopholes...

If only they could focus their attention to helping the nation instead of trying to infest it like a cancer.

I am glad people figure it out eventually. Though there are still some ANP stalwarts who deny there agenda.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,821, 03:13

"DD but you weren't criticising the action (the unity vote)"

I was. I made myself clear across numerous threads that there was no need for a unity vote considering the PTO threat to the CP elections had subsided.

"you were criticising the fact the IG called it when he didn't have the power to do so (your/Mr Crumpets' claim - later denied by IG)."

What? Did you even read the thread? Obviously not. You are clearly way off mark.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,821, 03:17

The issues i actually have in simple form.

1. Despite there being a clear PTO threat, the IG has to spend days upon days having massive TL';DR discussions and long dissections of legislation to simply come out and say "Yes, theres a PTO threat" - This is revelling in complexities at it's finest.

2. Despite the PTO threat to the CP elections being stopped, the IG didn't come out and say people were free to vote however they liked and instead he sat on his hands once

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,821, 03:18

again revelling in complexities and writing massive TL;DR.

3. Mr Cumpets then points out that the IG doesn't even really have the right to say that EVERYONE must vote for a unity candidate for the CP elections (which was brought up on the last pages of the thread) and i thought it was worth looking at.

DocterDryMOIST
DocterDryMOIST Day 1,821, 03:21

I cannot for the life of me figure out how larni can go from me, talking about the IG revelling in to many complexities and turn that into apparently the ANP revelling in complexities, not liking Rangers government and trying to bring it down.

Seriously WTF. Have you taken you meds today larni?

Ranger is doing a great job so far.

witherd1
witherd1 Day 1,821, 03:21

So, DD, you would have me not RP when I'm technically dealing with RP laws? How would you serve as IG then, when the job IS to enforce and rule on those RP laws?

You would also have me start an election I have no authority to start, when you and your mate are trying to hang me for doing just that? I wonder if you have ever even read a single piece of legislation, and yet you feel ready to do a job that MUST see you totally impartial, including from your beloved party.

witherd1
witherd1 Day 1,821, 03:24

If you wonder why I have the same style as Ranger, well go figure, he trained me, so not a huge surprise.

witherd1
witherd1 Day 1,821, 03:29

Just reading your last comments DD...

You need to go read the threads, cos YOU are clearly not reading. Please show us all where my such large discussions on whether or not there was PTO threat.

Please read where I advised that all CP nominees should run.

And once again, read that I did not call for the Unity vote, but the ppl did.

Good luck to you.

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,821, 03:48

“I made myself clear across numerous threads that there was no need for a unity vote”

True, but irrelevant. I was specifically referring to your post revelling in the (perceived) complexity that the IG lacked the power to make the call that was in eAus’s best interests.

“considering the PTO threat to the CP elections had subsided”

At the time the IG called the unity vote, the PTO threat had NOT subsided.

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,821, 03:50

“What? Did you even read the thread?”

Yes, in its entirety. Clearly I have, since it’s where I’m sourcing your comments… which are:

Mr Crumpets – “So here we may have a situation where the IG has called an 'election' for which he had no power or process to follow.”
DD – “thanks for bringing this up, i thought i would allow someone else to slap it down on the table “

= DD revelling in complexities.

b0ffin
b0ffin Day 1,821, 03:54

“3. Mr Cumpets then points out that the IG doesn't even really have the right to say that EVERYONE must vote for a unity candidate for the CP elections (which was brought up on the last pages of the thread)”

In no way, shape, or form, on that thread or elsewhere, have I ever seen the IG say that “EVERYONE must vote for a unity candidate for the CP elections” – please enlighten us DD, when has this EVER occurred?
