Commander of the eUS Army Retires, Citing GBS - New Officers Promoted

Day 584, 14:09 Published in USA USA by Jameson L. Tai

The eUS Army lost another Commander of the Army right before the completion of the Greek Independence War in Operation Turkish Delight. GEN Joseph Schmo (Ret.), after serving vital roles in the eUnited States of America, such as Vice President of the Nationalist Party, former eUS Ambassador to eIsrael, former MilComm Chairman, former two-term US Congressman for Vermont, and most importantly, former Commander of the eUS Army.

Citing personal issues and the effects of spending too much time on eRepublik, Joe made some crucial remarks regarding Game Burnout Syndrome (GBS). eRepublik can cause a person to spend way too much time in-game, causing the player to neglect other parts of his/her lives - whether it is personal, social, academic, or professional. Coming from another person who spends a lot of time in this game too and has experienced GBS, it is important that we spread the message about GBS and to make sure we are able to step back and make sure we are just playing roles a virtual world of the great United States.

I first met Joe when I first joined the eUS Army, when I didn't know if I would just find a bunch of stuck up, grown up ROTC Nazis on IRC. I was pleasantly surprised when I met Joe, Tremaine, and Knojerakk and they were very friendly and helpful. I slowly became more involved in the eUS Army, rising from soldier, to Platoon XO of 4th ID 3rd Platoon, then to Platoon CO of 4th ID 4th Platoon. Joe, along with teamwork from Knojerakk, Tremaine, NXNW, and other members of the 4th Infantry Division, as well as cross-divisional teamwork, has made the eUS Army grow and able to restructure and build in strength.

I'd like to thank GEN Joseph Schmo (Ret.) for his service towards his country, and I believe with the examples he's set for the troops, the eUS Army will continue to grow. Our troops definitely will miss Joe around the battlefield and handing us orders.

On the note of successors, LTG Knojerakk has been promoted to GEN as the Commander of the eUS Army, and COL Tremaine has been promoted to LTG as the Executive Officer of the eUS Army. Please join the troops in congratulating the two on their new positions and sending Joseph Schmo the best of wishes.

MAJ Jameson L. Tai
Executive Officer
eUS Army 4th Infantry Division
