I thought I would try an moderate a debate between the PP candidates Oinyo (our current Party President) and Maximus Decimus.Meridius (his illustrious challenger) the format is question posed by moderator followed with a response by one of the candidates, rebuttal by the other, finished with rebutal by the first. Good luck to you both.


First question posed to Oinyo

As party president what would you do to end this occupation?

Oinyo:
Well as PP I would do what I have been doing. Speaking out against it and trying to rally the troops to fight back for eCan. This is the main reason the "Arm the people" program started. To give eCanadians the weapons and food to fight back and regain our country. I have also put out a very strong CP campaign with videos showing how much I am against the occupation and how I want us to fight back.

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
A Party President does not have as much power to remove Spain from our soil as say the CP does. However if elected PP of CW than I would try to work with other parties to put pressure on the executive to expand our avenues for support against Spain in our RW's. Spain has said that they will not leave us alone unless we make a treaty but with a potential CoT vs TWO showdown then we will have a real chance to kick the Spanish out. As PP I would work to keep our government on the war path and to assist our members in there fight against the Spaniards as I feel that full liberation is just around the corner. Making youtube videos is entertaining (I'm thinking of starting making my own) but it does not do much in way of damage in the battlefield.

Oinyo:
I agree with Beorn on his statement and feel we both want to motivate and help push for eCan to become a free country. We both have ideas on how to get this done and I feel we are both capable of assisting in achieving this goal.

Second question: Poised to Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
As Party President how would you help the clan become more respectable among the other parties?

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
I want the party not to just be respected but to be feared. We need to act like a real wolf pack. In regards to respect I would try to get all the other PP's in a message group were we can discuses issues and sensitive issues among are parties. As I stated in my article I will work with other party members to improve our CW Charter into something that will show eCanada that we have a lot to offer.

Oinyo:
well this is a hard one. I have tries to gain us more respect but because of our past it is a long and slow process. We have made massive leaps and bounds over the months but there is really no quick fix to this. We just need to keep showing people we are active and vocal and we have a lot to offer. Time will fix this but we need to take it slow or we will have pushback as we see every time we try something big.

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
I do not mind the supposed AFK core of the party but we need to bring in people that want to be more engaged in this game and who want to participate to a greater extent in politics. Every party has its activity issues, even the largest party has recently said they have problems with members not participating enough ,http://tinyurl.com/cdahkg7, so it is not like we are the only party that has '2-clickers' in our parties. The rest of political parties needs to come to the realization that we are a party that deserves to be taken seriously and if elected as CW PP I will try to progress out parties national respect at a quicker pace than Oinyo has been doing.

Third Question poised to Oinyo:
Do you thing we should get the clan to grow or just get are members to be more active?

Oinyo:
We need to grow but we also need active members. Our members are not leaving us. they are leaving the game. We need more members that will stay in the party AND the game. I have found that recruiting people is easy. getting people to stay is the hard part 😛

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
Ideally both. However if the new players are just the level 20 players who join the party cause they get recruited on there first day then never sign in again and die of then we are just going in circles. If we had 91 active members who voted in every election than that would be much more valuable than 130 semi active members. If I become PP I would put the usual strong emphasis on bringing in new people but I would also put added focus on our existing members and hopefully through our new Hearlds/Communication Department we can get members more engaged.

Oinyo:
I cant say anything as i agree with him. We tried the job system for 2 months and saw what happened. Active members are gold and we need more of them. Win or lose I would love to work with beorn to solve this issue. We do have more active members now than we have in the past but I would love to involve everyone more than with surveys as they are just saying things are perfect as is :/

Fourth Question and last question poised to Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
Do you think Political Parties should be linked to Military Units?

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
I would like to see a MU for CW however for this to happen we would need strong supply structures in place since we would be unable to get funding from the government as stated in the eCan MU funding law. If we could strike out on our own and turn a MU into a politically affiliated one than it would be a great thing in my opinion. A MU linked with a political party creates a stronger bond within both groups and would increase CW activity. My fear of a MU/CW grouping is that each organization would start to push its members into the other and then alienate those who are not in both organizations, like for example the British Army and New Era in the eUK; yet I would work hard to prevent this type of thing from happening. I would not be opposed to CW and a MU being linked if the right circumstances arouse.

Oinyo:
I personally would love to see MU's linked to Political Parties. It would allow us to fund our players properly as well as pretty much shut out the PTO side of the game.

Also due to us being able to set who is in the MU we could have safe chats there without needing to worry about spies and the such.

I have wanted to approach this in the past but to be honest. If we did go anywhere near this we would get a complete and brutal backlash from the other parties. Right now we are in good standing with all the other parties with only about 3-4 people hating on us.. A much much better spot than when we have dozens of people raging on us and we were under constant threat of PTO's

In conclusion I would not touch this topic on a PP level but I would bring it up on a CP level to see if it can be talked over and perhaps a vote could be set in place.

Maximus Decimus.Meridius:
People can still come into a MU to see the MU feed (think you can only kick them after 2 days) so you cannot have a totally safe feed to chat.

It might be hard to back a MU/CW duo but we could possibly do something like what has happened in TCO with a lot of members being in one particular party and a few of TCO members allegedly getting involved in PP elections based of the MU. I'm not saying we use a MU to do harm to other parties but to strengthen ties with a MU to the extent that we have a strong connection to them but the MU still is able to get government funding.
