Citizenship Awards?
Mirahge
Should the eCanadian government establish a series of citizenship awards? Think about, in eCanada, if your not a company owner or a politican, all you really got going on is Working, Training, and occasionally voting and fighting.
What i think the government should do is have awards for citizenship for outstanding achivment in eCanadian society. It would give people a sense of accomplishment and give them something to work for, and with all the eCanadians doing so, it could mean great things for eCanada! Increased productivity, more companies, the possiblitys are endless! We could have awards for outstanding CAF participation, CEO of the Year award, Journalist Awards and etc.
Thoughts and comments appreciated, lets get this voted up, people!

I do like the concept. It could operate independently of the government since the government has enough going on 🙂
But set it up like the Writers Guild of Canada. Have a group who oversees the operation.
It would have to be something like, every couple months someone can win the awards. CEO of the year etc. Would take to long and most won't be around that long. So have the awards every other month or something.
True, thanks!
Early this month, WGC had discussions with the current govt about reviving the Order of Canada, an award that did previously exist:

We've had a minor setback that has slowed down the process. If there is enough interest, I'll do what I can to get the process going again.
This doesn't have to be the only award for citizens. It's just one of the bigger ones. There is also, ahem, a certain media award that is given out now and then. It would be awesome to see more awards given out by orgs or citizens.
We can start one like some good article with vote from 5 ppl set by us... and the ppl who want to write must join and pay 10 CAD for registration and a round can take a week... and who gets high votes win... what you say? And other contest, but eCanada must support us.
I tried something similar with SPAMM. People join and pay a registration fee. The winner is decided by the number of votes. I did it half-seriously because voting and article quality are not a clear measure. Even forum polling is not a great reflection at times. The best is to have a panel of judges that choose the winners. That requires lots of work but it is doable.
