Citizen Bulletin

Day 537, 04:19 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Hello eUK citizens. My name is LordJustice and I am the new Home Minister. Here is a brief rundown of the eUK government and its services.

This is the weekly digest containing a summary of some the important information that every citizen in the eUK might need.

Wellness

The NHS is mandated with helping maintain citizens’ wellness via the Wellness Fast programme and gifting – an article explaining the procedure with a list of clinics can be found here. An article explaining wellness generally can be found here. If you are new please read both as they are important.

You must add you local clinic to take advantage of the NHS and keep your wellness high. Use the above article to find your local clinic, add it as a friend and send it a message requesting being put on their list.

Additionally, the recent training wars give citizens the opportunity to increase their Wellness by fighting and going to their regional hospital for health. However, the hospital can only be used once a day.

London

The message is to leave it for one of the 12 regions, TfL will provide you with a free ticket. Here is the most recent article explaining why you should leave.

Army

The eUK has two main arms of the army – the Royal Guard and Royal Navy. The guard acts as the defensive arm and the navy (and the paratroopers – elite section of the navy) are the offensive, being sent around the world to aid our allies.

Fighting is simple, you can’t below 40 wellness and you don’t need a weapon (although it helps a lot). How much damage you do depends on strength, force, rank, wellness and weapon Q. You can only heal once you’ve fought once. Here is a good article explaining how to fight smart.

For a country to attack a region or start a resistance war in an occupied region, it costs 50G plus 25% of the population of the region in which the battle is to take place. A whole war therefore can be a very considerable cost.

Mutual Protection Pacts (MPP) cost 30G a month to maintain. If we have one with (eg) France, only if an original French region is attacked can we then fight directly from the UK (no need to leave our country). However, if French territory is occupied prior to the MPP being triggered and then France attacked it in an attempt to regain it, the MPP will not trigger. To trigger France would have had to own that region. However, if a French region was attacked thus triggering the MPP, if France then attacked a non-original region (ie of the attacker) we would be able to help in the offensive action.

We currently hold such an alliance with USA, Croatia, South Africa and Ireland.

Our Government

In the eUK the public maintains a significant amount of electoral power – it votes for the congressional members of the House of Commons (HoC), as members of parties it also elects the Party Presidents and crucially also elects the Country President (Prime Minister). The Prime Minister then appoints the cabinet.

Only the top 5 parties by membership number are allowed to field congressional candidates. The top 5 Party Presidents are then given the power to vote on potential candidates to the House of Lords (HoL).

In emulation of real life, the HoC votes on all proposals which then move up to the HoL who either approve or return. They may return three times before the bill passes at another HoC vote. The Prime Minister has a veto over any bill, the Minister of Finance also has power to suspend a bill for a maximum of 24 hours.

Presidential elections are held on the 5th, Party President elections on the 15th and congressional elections on the 25th of each month.

~ Soon this section will be replaced with a series of articles, the first part of which can be found here.
