Citizen ads?
eFight Club
So, by now most of you have read the eRepublik Insider article regarding citizen advertising.

Great idea.
Now political parties can run ads, instead of just amassing gold...
Wait a second...wasn't that what newspapers do? An article IS an ad, is it not?
I say integrate the advertising engine into the newspaper entity. Allow a successful newspaper to generate income. The amount of subscribers should determine the cost of advertising per article.
There could be rankings for most profitable article, newspaper, etc. Perhaps each reader's vote could equate to .25 cents for the Newspaper...
It could also lead to a new kind of company - the Advertising / Marketing Company.
Thoughts?

I guess popular newspapers could sell their add-space on the black market.
I would rather have it all set out in coded algorithms.
I don't want to have to hope that my black market transaction will come to fruition.
I agree and had the same thoughts when I read the article
The advertising could benefit the media module in two ways:
A) It reduces the amount of non-news spam about selling products or getting a candidate's name out there without much information than that.
😎 As said above, it could benefit newspaper holders who could get more profit or more adds if their votes or subs are high.
On the downside, linking paid ads to the media module could cause more spam and make it more difficult for people to get their ideas out. There would have to be some way to prevent someone from spamming with paid ads all over the place. It's also just anothe way for players with more money to gain more influence/power. I'd expect the admins have thought about this.
Could there be more spam than when advertising was free (articles)?
