Join the new world

Note: This will be in sections, as it fits nicely with the attention span of most eRepublikans


Back when I first joined, Norway was in political turmoil. The Fins wanted their own country, and were a threat to political stability as they had a Babyboom. The people of Finland grew to such a number, they formed the eWorld's largest party, the Finnish Sovereignty Party. With control of Norway, they made a deal with the Norwegians, they would set Finland free once the RW module came out, and Norway would keep Russia. But, big bad Romania was at war with Indonesia, and going through Turkey would have been a hassle, as they would have had to go through Iran, who at the time was a powerful country. So, looking for another route, Norwegian Russia was the answer.

Another major event that I vaguely remember is French Toast, where Atlantis invaded France. I'm lacking in details from a personal perspective, as I had just recently moved to the United States, and arrived when they were being pushed out of French territory.

Norway was on the decline. They were ever since they gave up Finland, as population = power in those days, and Norway had very little of both after V1 was introduced. So, Norway and Romania swapped regions, allowing Romania into the Asia theater, to face it's rival Indonesia. Indonesia had gotten most of it's regions from Pakistan, who was also in decline from it's empire. Romania's ultimate goal was Karnataka, the Indonesian stronghold, and iron supply. Romania would never get that far, as border bugs and Indonesian determination kept them in check. I must also mention that Romania and allies had put masses of soldiers into WSR, while Indonesia and allies did the same with Xinjiang, both sides putting Q5 hospitals and defense systems. The campaign would be decided by one enormous battle.

That battle would be the Battle of Western Siberia Region(WSR). The battle was fought along with many other battles against Romania and Indonesia, and even made Erepublic Insider news. Many claimed that the world exploded with battles, as RW popped up in what seemed like every occupied region. Like many battles, past and present, cheats and exploits were used. If memory serves, there were huge Q5 weapon stashes used that were created illegally by both sides, along with mounds of fake gold. The Admins investigated, and decreased the damage for Indonesia by 200,000, which was a considerable amount in those days, as the overall damage in the battle was slightly more than one million, and there were many, many server problems as a result of the thousands of buttons being clicked. The result of this, along with other key battles in Romanian held Ukraine and Hungary, resulted in a Romanian withdraw to it's home regions. It was a huge blow to Romania and Atlantis, and ushered in an age of PEACE GC domination, and rise in Hungarian power.
