Chemotherapy - The Drunken Ramblings of Francois Pignon

Day 1,589, 15:34 Published in Canada Canada by Francois L. Pignon

I love eCanada. I've been here 2 years now, except for a brief visit to our brothers in Ireland back when they were attempting one of their drives to London. I've become acquainted with many of it's citizens. I've seen many of them either leave the game and the country. I've witnessed new hopeful spirits get crushed under the reality of how things are done here in eCanada.

Honestly, why do I continue to stay here in eCanada? I've been questioning that all along.

I love the people here. Pretty much all of you. I've had hot steamy electronic sex with at least 60 of you guys. Some of you aren't even here anymore. I still think about the interactions I've had with past players. I actually think about them in real life. Don't get me wrong, I have a life but I do come on here to unwind and talk to people from different perspectives with different ideas on how to do different things. That's what makes us great, we can see something and generate 20+ different opinions on it.

I made a conscious decision to be an eCanadian when I joined this game. Those of you who know me know that I am an American in real life. I hate being an American in real life, so I joined you guys.

Day after day goes by, and has continued to go by where I feel like I'm in the States, in this game.

The slow decay of eCanada continues, and many of our best players, people I consider to be friends, have left us, to fight against us or otherwise. I've considered leaving too, but I've never considered fighting against eCanada to make a point. I do understand where EPC is coming from, though.

At the same time, I understand Rolo, and his desire to be a foil. I don't know what he does in real life, I've never really had an in depth conversation with him to be honest, but I know he's a human on the other side of that computer. I have stated on numerous occasions that he has made this game a bit more interesting for all of us.

With that said, I want to say that I have no solution for the Rolo pardon. Nobody will meet a compromise. Rolo will not give back the gold, and sure as hell won't apologize. Banning him from the forum is merely a symbolic move that has no real effect, as he has other accounts he can access it from. Fighting against Canada, or more specifically tanking against us, is a less symbolic gesture. It has a real effect. Despite the fact that it only seems to be happening for a few battles.

Yes, Rolo may continue to PTO our parties that are run by fools that can't run parties. Yes, he will likely run for CP every month. This is something we have come to expect. Pardon or no pardon, it will continue to happen. That's how he wants to play the game. The mechanics allow for it. Nothing we can do, short of hiring an assassin, can take care of this. And honestly, this is a game. Do we need to hire an assassin?

We have to deal with this using team work. Addy said to not base a platform on unity. I've seen people try. They always fail. He's likely correct.

However, why can't we unite to deal with Rolo if he's our mutual problem?

When a bunch of our best players are finally driven from the country because their calls fall on deaf ears and then they tank against us, Rolo has won. If Rolo seizes control of 3 of our top 5 parties because nobody cares. Rolo has won. Rolo really has won the game as he's playing it. To him, fair play. We reap what we sow.

We've become so concerned with keeping the UK under our control that we've failed to tend to any of our domestic issues. They've always come second when they should have been first.

If we could band together, we could attempt to beat Rolo. A ban from the forums won't work. A ban from IRC won't work. We can't ban him from the country or game, but we can attempt to get the country back.

Our allies growing concern of our instability should be recognized. I'd like to speak for them, but I cannot. If we were to call on them for assistance, I do not see why we could not gain power under a legitimate government. This government has to be transparent with its allies, and can't just rely on shady back door dealings. I recall on numerous occasions helping other countries with aPTO efforts.

Right now, Canada is a malignant tumour waiting to spread to the lymphatic system of EDEN. When one has early stage cancer, treatment is started as soon as possible. In many cases, this involves the surgical removal of the tumour, or a body part. Canada is expendable.

Let's work to rid ourselves of this tumour.
