Ceasefire in Argentina.

Day 410, 09:54 Published in Argentina Argentina by Siddy

Disclaimer: The following is just my personal opinion, it doesn't reflect the will of the Argentiniaen goverment or the will of argentiean people officially, but you can guess that this is shared by lots of Argentinians. This message shouldn't be used as justification for the ceasefire, nor as indication of what would come next, as all decisions in my presidency are taking according to objective values instead of subjective ones:

Argentina is a small country. We don't are rich, nor have the most powerful country in the world In our last presidential elections there were 300 votes, which make us a middle/small country, far from the great powers of Indonesia, Romania, USA or Spain, even far from UK also. All things we have is a good internal organization and grains high.

When ATLANTIS attacked France, we, even when being a small and poor country, did what we could. Everytime we had been asked help, we did help. We wasted hunderds of gold if not thousands into screen attacks against Indonesia, we sent our elite forces whenever they were needed, and we didn't send them just for make some attacks. We attaked as much as we could and as best as we could, wasting Q5 weapons and gold if needed for our allies. Good proof of that is that, while being much smaller than Spain or UK, we managed to get heroes in their battles, like shown here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/battles/show/5823 and here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/battles/show/5828
We did it happily as we weren't upsed for using our reserves for our friends. PEACE fighted better than ATLANTIS in that war and their win was, even when some strange rule changes, deserved without any doubt.

And then chaos ensured here in Argentina. PEACE attacked us.

We did all that we could. And even more. Looking at all those statistics, I'm absolutely sure that the small, poor argentineans are the guys who most bricks added to the wall. We have 200.000 damage in our country, being in second place after USA with near 240.000. All our tank forces were in USA, and for the gold that we have spent, I'm sure that we did an ammount way bigger than those 20.000 points that would be the difference.

What about the rest of countries? They didn't get anywhere near our commitment, albeit being much bigger, richer and powerful. We did 2 times the damage that the great romania did, but the saddest thing is that Romania did 3 times more damage in their 2 battles in Russia that not in the 4 battles in Argentina. Spain was one of the most helpful countries, which were blocked very effectively, but still fighted endlessly from USA. The raw contribution of USA is very hard to tell due to the argentinian and the spaniard tanks being in there, but it was clearly not enough. The United Kingdom ammounted less than 30.000 damage in 4 battles. Probably our mobile forces defending Belgium did more than 30.000 damage in two battles.

Fact is. We lost. We lost 4 battles: Pampas, Mesopotamia, Patagonia and Cuyo. I'm counting Cuyo as a loss, as, even when we secured it, it was only due to a bug that hugely benefited us. We Argentineans are willing to admit that if we kept Cuyo was only due that bug and in normal circumstances, region should have fallen to Indonesia.

But even when we lost, we ould keep ourselves proud. We, with a surprisingly low help, managed to keep Indonesia busy in Buenos Aires, making it the biggest battle in erepublik, we have been the ones who ammounted more damage from ATLANTIS side in this war, and we, even being weak, poor and underpopulated, had been able to stand still, look at the eyes of the PEACEGC military machine, and fight, in a desesperate manner, till the bitter end.

And the bitter end arrived. A ceasefire was offered by Indonesia and Brazil. That's a nice move from them, as, without that ceasefire, now would have conquered cuyo, northwest, and we would be losing at that time our last region, our country and our sovereignity. We're taking it, as ATLANTIS did not show us signs of offering us complete, inconditional, reliable and coordinate support. We fighted until the limit of our forces, we even reached that limit and continued fighting, and we just can't do it now.

I'm really sorry for Spain, who always have been in our side like brothers, helping us to the point of having an entire tank unit not sleeping, and always supporting us, be it in their newspapers, or donations, or fights. I'm really sorry for you guys, but we had no other chance. I'm also sorry for all the people of other countries who stood for us, and saw us fall aswell.

I'd like to again congratulate PEACEGC, they just were way better than us, so even with all sturdiness and desesperate fight we were able to offer we had been obliterated anyway. ATLANTIS has a lot to learn from you, who always have been united in defense of France and Offense of Indonesia, while in ATLANTIS Romania attacked Russia without even me knowing it and in US chat there were talkings about invading mexico and were published in some newspapers while we were being battered down there. Congratulations, "pibes".

New elections will be soon and in few hours this government will enter in a transitional phase while waiting for new elections. We're not going to present ourselves for another term as I personally breached like my country our limit. But at last I'm happy that one of my last words, and the last ones of this message, would be to congratulate our country, for their pride, their sturdiness, their willingness to fight with honour and for being "boludos pero no salames", which would roughly translate to "naive but not stupid".

Thanks for reading this looong post.
