Casus Belli - greek is not Latin

Day 1,585, 05:58 Published in Bulgaria Bulgaria by Melliores

Good day dear readers,

Today, eGreece officially declared a state of war on its former ally, eBulgaria and swiftly followed with an attack. All is good when it ends good, as they say in Western Europe, though it seems we have a precedent here. Greece declares war on Bulgaria having no casus belli altogether.

casus belli - lat. reason for war

diplomacy - lat. diploma, meaning an official document derived from ancient greek δίπλωμα (diploma for non-greek speakers)

eGreece has no formal excuse or reason for attacking Bulgaria. They do not:

- Have any territorial claims or need bulgarian resources. Even worse, eGreece already has all resources Bulgaria can offer.

- Have the excuse, unlike Croatia or Turkey, that bulgarian players have fought against Greece. Moreover, eGreece had always been proud that it had never declared war till now on Bulgaria, even when Bulgaria was in Phoenix. No hostile military action has been initiated by any bulgarian player against Greece in RWs even after eGreece signed a MPP with Turkey in December.

- Have been officially insulted or mishandled. The greek president, with his poor behaviour on the last two meetings, as everybody can see for him/herself, is another question though. Even his poor conduct was not enough to prompt the bulgarian side into insulting or belittling the greek government. As proof you can peruse the logs from the last meetings.

- Have been threatened by Bulgaria on official level. Never has a bulgarian government threatened eGreece or its players, yet decided to issue a declaration of war, without any rhyme or reason to it.

- Have been insulted, mishandled or generally treated poorly in the bulgarian press, or in comments under articles, by bulgarian players. The so called "trolling" was directed at Turkey and in small part towards Croatia, after their support in the RWs three weeks ago. Most of the bulgarian players where genuinely surprised by the first NE proposal since it came out of nowhere. The second is even more of a surprise.

Taking into account the aforementioned facts it seems that the greek players have no grasp of Latin. Do you know what casus belli means? Do you know what diplomacy means?

Do you know eGreece or have you lost your face?

Thank you for your attention,
Melliores
