Join the new world

Hello, United Kingdom. I am announcing my candidacy under the banner of The Unity Party to run for Commons for the Northwest.

I moved to the United Kingdom only a couple days ago after spending time in France fighting in Operation PIG MAC. However, as an Anglophone, I was irritated that there were no English-speaking nations in PEACE, aside from the theocracy of Pakistan. That, and my admiration for the structure of the British government, have attracted me to my new home.



Carpathia means Activity
Though I have not been a British citizen for long, I am not a stranger to some of the more active citizens. I am often in the UK IRC channel talking with anyone from Arthur Wellesley to GladDOS under my IRC name of Mosheninkov. I am a very active citizen and will not simply be dead weight in Parliament. If elected, I will work with my fellow MPs to perfect and pass legislation that will strengthen and bring prosperity to our home.

My activity does not just allow me stay on top of the issues and events that affect the British people, but also to quickly address the concerns of my constituents. I know that if I am elected, I will be representing the people of the Northwest, not simply my party or my own convictions. My activity will enable me to listen to and take into account the opinions of the citizens of the Northwest.

Carpathia means Security
The security of our nation is paramount. I will work with my fellow MPs to improve security in our home, whether that means approving the use of British forces against an external threat or negotiating for a hospital for a region in need. Having served as the first Secretary-General of the PEACE Global Community, I know the importance of strong security. As a citizen of the United Kingdom, I know the importance of maintaining relations with our allies. We are now members of PEACE, and we can call upon them for support in the event of an attack, but I believe that the United Kingdom should have its own world-class military that would be able to keep our home secure even if we were forced to stand alone.

What's more, this campaign has been endorsed by GLaDOS and the entire RAF. How many candidates can claim such an honor? 😛

Carpathia means Experience
Though I am new to the United Kingdom, I am not new to the ways of this game. In July 2008, I served as a Congressman and Vice President for Greece. In that capacity, I kept Greece secure from external threats by negotiating with the leaders of the now-defunct alliance FIST to bring Greece in so that Greece could have a chance of surviving an ongoing Turkish onslaught. My negotiations succeeded and it was that decision that kept Greece alive long enough for me to become her President in August 2008. As the President of Greece, I was involved with negotiations with the Pakistanis and our other allies that led to the formation of PEACE. I wrote the alliance's charter and served as its first Secretary-General.

More recently, I have served as the British Ambassador to Greece (April 2009) and now the Director of Media Affairs for PEACE (June '09-present). I have a wealth of experience to draw on when making decisions that will truly benefit the United Kingdom and its citizens, which is a claim many of my opponents simply cannot make.

If any citizens of the United Kingdom, whether they live in the Northwest or elsewhere, have any questions for me, I would be happy to answer them. I wish my political rivals the best in the upcoming elections and hope that the people of the Northwest choose me for Commons. I know it will not be a decision they regret.
