CTW - I11 - July 16th, 2012

Most people took part in yesterdays Party Presidential Election yesterday, though they are the most boring elections on eRep, this time people were expecting something interesting to happen in one party, but that never actually happened...

The Admins continued the trolling of their members as they had a sale on Company Upgrades while most of their members want Training Ground Upgrades... This left a lot of people very frustrated and some feeling like complete idiots when they mistakenly bought Training Ground upgrades thinking the sale was on both.

The US finished off its complete wipe of Mexico since the last time I wrote, also since then the US (and Brazil) have officially killed the new alliance that was starting to form, given the name of CTRL by some people.

Oh, and for the first time ever CTW posts images of two completely naked chicks, though you may think it’s against the rules I have found away around the rules!

I published my last article right before Mexico was completely wiped, and I really hope I am not your only source for information, but if you don’t already know we have completely wiped Mexico. Which leads to a question from me, and maybe one of you can answer. We all know that if a country doesn’t own any territory then it can’t have congressional or presidential elections, but can a country without any territory have party elections?

There was some bragging going on in the media about how Mexico and Chile were wiped, perhaps a bit premature as some of our allies in South America, Argentina and Colombia, have been struggling a bit lately. Chile has regained one region and is trying to regain another region (though they are losing pretty badly). Colombia is currently in a war with Venezuela and they haven’t been doing so good. Peru and Bolivia have also had a little bit of success against Brazil and Argentina lately.

Moving to Europe, in the northern part Russia has agreed to a peace deal with Sweden which has a lot of people going “wtf Russia?” since it appears Sweden got a very good deal out of the agreement. Spain has got the upper hand in the never ending battle with Portugal and have pushed the Portuguese down to just one region. Hungary has finally stopped losing left and right and grew to a total of 5 regions. Our allies in France and Germany continue to occupy most of England, leaving the Brits just one region. And Serbia has been struggling lately, losing 2 regions to Italy, two more regions to Greece and another region Croatia. Being triple teamed sounds fun until it actually happens.

Over to Eastern Europe where the Fins and Latvians have started a really interesting battle going back and forth a lot lately. Moving towards the Mideast and Bulgaria has turned the tide against Turkey and have taken a region from them, after Turkey dominated in this battle for a long time, things have evened out and gone back and forth for a while until Bulgaria finally got the upper hand.

Moving to the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has had some success recently winning some resistance wars. Though they still got a long way to go as Cyprus, Greece, Israel and Iran continue to control the region. Moving to the other part of RL Africa that exists in this game where South Africa has had some success against Brazil and now controls 5 regions.

Over to Asia, things literally have not changed at all since we last had a look. China continues to hold down Pakistan at one region and North Korea at two regions. Taiwan continues to occupy most of South Korea and keep them at just two regions. Moving South and Indonesia has regained a little bit of power (previously they weren’t doing so good) and decided to invade Australia (and who wouldn’t want to do that, Koalas are so cute!).

Before I get to the news on the Party Presidential elections that happened yesterday I am going to talk about myself a little bit (well, some other people also). As you may know, I am a Federalist and yesterday Stewy, who has been trying for 3 months now, finally got the PP position! He does a lot of work for the Feds and in order to ease his workload a bit I am taking over the Political Department from him. This means I get to run elections for the Feds and run as many PTO threats as I want to!. I along with my little two person staff of Alexj1890 and Paul Proteus will be working to sort of overhaul the whole department and make the Feds more of a political power!

Ok, now on to the news that I am sure you have been waiting for, PP Elections! Ok, in all seriousness, this is by far the most boring election that occurs in eRep, with a lot of major parties having primaries to decide who the party supports well before the actual election occurs. So if you were paying attention to these primaries you knew that Alexander_Auctoritas was going to win the USWP election, that John Killah was going to win the AMP election, and that stewy was going to win the Fed election. Inci sort of does their own thing and to be honest I don’t understand Turkish at all (so it’s hard for me to report what’s going on with them), but they had their little thing and most of them gathered their support behind KutlukBilgeKulKagan.

Which really only leaves one major party that looked at first to have somewhat of an exciting election, the RLC. There were two main candidates, Gnilraps the more vocal candidate and Chickensguys the quieter of the two candidates. In the end, this excitement turned out to be a huge letdown as Chickenguys ran away with the voting, winning by over 200 votes. There were rumors that Gnilraps was an official Government chosen ATO candidate trying to take over the party and keep the party out of Ajay’s hands. Who knows, but this was the only election that had a chance to be exciting, and it was sort of over before it started. An apology to the smaller parties, but theres like 30 of you and I don’t have all the time in the world to write this, so what time I may have spent analysing your elections was spent researching how cows digest!

At least we have what is always an exciting election coming up next, Congressional Elections where it looks like we will have over 300 candidates (though many will be blockers) competing for what currently is 62 seats in congress.

Even though the admins had a sale on Company Upgrades recently, which should have taken a decent amount of gold out of the game (reducing supply) the price of gold has actually dropped slightly and had been hovering between 1900 and 2000. Though it has taken a fall today and dropped down close to 1800. It is still very very high compared to what it probably should be at, but then again we are still waiting for the admins to alter the economic module like they said they would (don’t hold your breath though, it might be a while still), but at least it’s not going up and up and up.

But the sale on Company Upgrades did have an affect on the prices of Weapons and Weapons Raw Materials. Previously Q3 and Q4 weapons were selling at an insanely high price due to the lack of supply since most newbs were stuck at Q1 or Q2 and most veterans had moved up to Q5 or Q6. When the sale allowed lots of players to move up into Q3 and Q4 companies, which increased supply and brought the price down back towards what was expected when compared to the other weapons. So now we have more of an even pricing system, instead of a Q4 being worth up to twice as much as a Q5. This change also required lots of Raw Materials for people to build their new Q3 and Q4 weapons, so the price of WRM has slowly gone up and is now hovering right around $0.20 per raw. We are not quite where we were a while back when WRM were being sold at $0.33 per unit, but we are sort of in the range where it becomes somewhat profitable to work your WRM buildings.

Nothing has really changed with food, even though they had a recent Company Upgrades sale, most people more than likely used their gold on weapons companies rather than food companies. So food has continued its ever so slightly downward pricing trend, and hopefully the mods do something soon because FRM are being priced at $0.03 per unit (I even saw someone selling them at $0.02 per unit).

The reason Jobs skyrocketed for a while was it was profitable to start hiring workers for your Q3 and Q4 weapons companies, and with that a lot of people tried to hire other people, which led to a decrease in the supply of workers which shot the price of a job way up. With the company upgrades and a lot more Q3 and Q4 weapon companies added into the game, the cost of those weapons came down, and that brought an end to those companies being profitable. Which led to fired workers (I can’t make any money with you anymore, so get out) which led to a larger unemployed workforce which brought the price of Jobs back down towards normal.

This week's word of the week is Shortcut

The word can mean a lot of things. Where the word sort of began relates a little known path that gets you from A to B faster than if you had not used the path and taken the long way. Though, with the advent of computers the term has taken on a digital term as keyboard shortcut where people trigger various operations by using a small set of keyboard keys. ALT + F4 is an example of a fun keyboard shortcut...

Now we all use different programs on different operating systems, so I won’t go into detail about certain shortcuts some people might not be able to use, but I will list the eRep shortcuts you can use from any browser on any operating system when cruising through eRep. I personally use Shift+M, Shift+S and Shift+W a decent amount, but some of these may be helpful to you.

Shift + A - will take you to your alerts page
Shift + C - will take you to the Military Campaigns page
Shift + M - will take you to your Military Unit (MU) page
Shift + L - will take you to your My Places page
Shift + N - will take you to a new message page
Shift + S - will take you to your Storage
Shift + T - will take you to the Top News page
Shift + W - will take you to the World Map

Almost everyone knows that Cows have four stomachs, but do you know why they have four stomachs?

Well, actually Cows don’t have four stomachs, what they really have is one very large stomach with four chambers whereas humans have a small stomach with one chamber. They need these four chambers to digest their really tough to digest diet of mostly grass (mixed in with whatever else they can find that looks edible). Their diet is so tough that if humans ate a similar diet they would starve to death since our body cannot and would not absorb any significant amount of nutrients from the grass. This is where a cows four stomach chambers come in, each one has its own special job in order to break down and absorb what little nutrients grass contain to keep the cow alive.

The first chamber, known as the Rumen is very large mainly softens up food, while allowing for the cows incredible ability to regurgitate and rechew partially digested food which also helps to soften up the food. The second and third chambers, the Reticulum and Omasum, further break down the food before sending it to the last chamber. The Abomasums could almost be called the real stomach as this chamber starts the process of absorbing food from the grass the cow ate. Due to the need to rechew food several times, as well as needing four chambers to digest the food into something the cow is able to absorb, the process of digestion for a cow can take up to 3 days to complete.

And yes, they will come alive at night and haunt your dreams...

This week I give you more than just two hot chicks in skimpy clothing, I also give you two naked chicks hanging out with some kittens.

/start disappointment

Every week I will be doing a giveaway to one of my subscribers, well actually, thanks to a 50 Q6 Tank donation from one of my happy subscribers I am going to have two winners this week, so the winners are MateiVictor and Jasper Signa who both win 25 Q6 Tanks and 700 USD!

Each week I will be doing this, prizes will change from week to week depending on what I have in my storage (may be weapons, food, gold, usd or a combination), and all you have to do to win is be a subscriber! Unfortunately the game does not allow us to see who our subscribers are so I am doing my best to make a list of subscribers. If you do subscribe just say something in the comments below, if you have said something about subscribing to my paper in the past then you are on the list. But if you clicked subscribe and did not say anything there is no way for me to know, so feel free to say something below. If you are not sure whether or not you are on the list you can PM me and I can let you know.
