Cape Breton sails on [S]

Day 538, 17:07 Published in Canada Canada by Strongside Industries

So it is the end of an era in eCanada. No, it is not the great Dominik send off (but can you picture him with the Von Trapp family singing "so long, farewell, alvederzane, goodnight" on that stairwell? Oh yeah, and fun fact: the little girl in The Sound of Music original movie--the youngest one--grew up to be a porn star. I blame musical theater). Nor is it the rerelection of Bruck. That's not the end of an era, that's the continuation of an era. Cmon now. No, what I am referring to is that a well respected eCanadian organization has put the for sale sign in the window.

Cape Breton, the organization that manages practically any and all kinds of companies you can have, has decided to call it quits. So up for sale goes all of the companies and if there are no takers our job market will soon be flooded with new employees looking for a decent wage.

You may not have heard too much about this organization, but they are a good, honest, hardworking organization that put in the effort to create a favorable atmosphere for her workers. And in a game where accusations of gold bugging are as common as a 600 voted article on the international page, and where in the sad corners of petty hearts the desires of small minds scheme to steal from Canada's coffers, a good, hardworking organization ought to be given its due.

So join me in a tip of the hat and a raising of the glass to Cape Breton. (And hopefully a vote for support)
I shall grab a glass of scotch and put on Fairpoint Convention's "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" or Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" in your honor. Actually, it'll probably the last half of my Vanilla Latte. Hope you don't mind.

The much heralded "grain crisis" of a week ago has, surprise surprise, subsided. For two days now q1 grain has been selling for 0.10 CAD more than it had this time last week. So much for calls of government intervention and secret alliances. However, we here at Strongside Industries still voice our support of a high-price-floor-setting-secret-grain-al liance between other companies. We just wont join up. Or pay union fees. Yuk.

So I hope you enjoyed your cheap food, because in a few days the price will begin to reflect the new grain price.
