Canada, Australia on Defensive as USA-Brazilian Alliance Cemented, Day 1109

A busy sequence of events marked Day 1109, as eIndonesia continued its lightning campaign across Australia while eFrance and the eUK put eCanada on the defensive in two continents. Peace may be reached in the Spanish theater, but some interesting bedfellows have convened as a result.

eIndonesia Rolling Through Australia, Faces Resistance Wars
Successful attacks launched against Northern Territory and Victoria late in Day 1108 enabled eIndonesia to take a large swath of Australian territories; an attack at 16:22 on Day 1109 against Queensland brings all except New South Wales and Tasmania under fire, though both regions will likely be attacked within 12 hours. However, eAustralia has wasted no time in starting several resistance wars (RWs) for the conquered regions, including: Northern Territory, South Australia, and the traditionally occupied Western Australia throughout Day 1109. The eAussies led in Western Australia in the earliest phases, but cannot expect to win all the regions; regardless, they may win a couple, but have also bought time to sign more alliances for future encounters.

A series of resistance wars opened in ePolish-controlled regions in the eUSA

Flurry of RWs Target Polish-Leased Territories in USA, US Holdings in China
A total of six RWs were opened in Day 1109 in the regions ePoland has leased from the eUSA; this arrangement dates back several months and enables the EDEN giant to enjoy high resources it otherwise would not have, and in return, makes it easier for the eUSA to protect itself from political takeover (PTO) maneuvers. However, the introduction of new raw resources has skewed ePoland’s gains from these regions-- four of the six regions (Oregon, Idaho, South Dakota, and Arizona) are all high cattle regions-- and may result in them willingly relinquishing some of these territories. That being said, we would see the RWs progressing in the resistance’s favor were this the case. Since we are not, we can be assured that ePoland intends to hold the regions for the time being, particularly Illinois for its high oil and Tennessee for its high fruit resources. Moreover, the attacks come as the eUSA faces RWs for its Chinese and Indian holdings which are progressing in the resistance’s favor with heavy Phoenix backing, despite orders to protect them.

eFrance has crossed the Atlantic and returned to an historic battleground

France Returns to Historical Battleground, Attacks Nova Scotia
eFrance turned back the history books on Day 1109 at 06:00 in attacking Nova Scotia, the site of a fiercely contested battle in the summer of 2009 which began World War 3 and PEACE’s invasion of North America. It is the third time that eFrance has opened an attack across the Atlantic Ocean in recent days, though eCanada has successfully defended the regions while losing only a few battles; in less dramatic fashion, eFrance’s latest attack has met little resistance and is poised to fall for eFrance by 22:00 at the earliest. Success in Nova Scotia could portend rough times for eCanada and the eUSA, who may face sustained campaigns on their mainland territories in the coming days if eFrance were to continue or have any allies also attempt to attack.

UK Pursues Canadians in Ireland
After successfully removing eCanada from Great Britain, the eUK crossed the Irish Sea and pursued eCanada’s hold of Northern Ireland at 06:27 on Day 1109, the last eUK region remaining under occupation. The front seems to be gaining little eCanadian attention and will most likely fall to the eUK, but the question here will be whether the eUK pursues eCanada’s other Irish territory or chooses to attack eIreland again in the next few days.

Brazil, Spain Sign Peace Treaty; USA-Brazil Alliance Proposed
Day 1109 also witnessed another attempted eSpanish RW of the Canary Islands, although this RW will pass given that eBrazil is now returning the Canary Islands following a peace treaty reached with eSpain. If it holds, the treaty will end a battlefront which has dominated international headlines for the past two months; it will also enable both sides to focus more on the current tensions in Australia, or on other theaters they deem necessary. The peace in Spain is accompanied by an eUSA-proposed alliance with eBrazil which is meeting near-unanimous approval (I also voted in favor, as a Congressman) and will keep the eUSA safer in the Western Hemisphere. This is happening, of course, while eBrazil’s other allies and battle orders call for supporting eIndonesia and other adversary states to the eUSA. Some statecraft is in play here, and it will remain to be seen how the alliance discrepancy affects eBrazil’s long-term diplomacy. How allied states of both the eUSA and eBrazil react will also be interesting to see.

It appears that little will stop eIndonesia, but eIndonesia’s long-term ambitions are not clear on whether a more extended offensive may be in the works. eCanada will be in trouble if the eUK rolls eCanada out of Ireland and joins eFrance in Canadian mainland attacks. The eBrazilian-eUSA alliance makes great sense to both sides and brings together two countries who are themselves adversaries, but belong to different factions. This author is personally interested to see how it plays out, and how long the alliance will last.
