Can't We All Just Get Along?

Day 584, 06:20 Published in Canada Canada by Rigour6

ITEM 1: eCanadians in their wisdom have chosen a congress which nicely balances the CSD with both the experienced hands of the CEP and the enthusiasm of the DAL, while still leaving space for the voices of talented CPP and PPC members. Meanwhile, many eCanadians will note with satisfaction that the PNQ was pushed out by the advance of the DAL. Although it would be naiive to think this settles the issues the PNQ raised, the voices which would seek to divide this great nation will for a few days be less prominent.

Now comes the challenge to the new Congress: can they get along? More importantly can we find a way in which the experienced members can transfer their knowledge of game mechanics to the newer arrivals? This is a challenge on both sides, and requires openness and co-operation. Step One in that journey must surely be setting partisan rancour aside.

ITEM 2: Spem Reduxit notes locally the success of its endorsed candidate, O'Shaudy, and wishes him well in the coming session. We thank our editorial board for following their decision with their votes. We are hopeful that by the time the next round of elections comes, more of our members will be of voting level.

ITEM 3: Congress is about to vote Alberta a Q5 Defense System. Alberta is actually less of a border state than New Brunswick, yet we make this allocation with little dissent, and why? Because of Alberta's large population and Oil resources. It is not a matter of opposing this improvement, but while 5 of eCanada's territories have only Q1 medical care, this seems clearly to be an example of the revised golden rule, He that has the gold makes the rules. Spem Reduxit continues to maintain that eCanada will be strong when all of the regions of eCanada are strong, and that Q2 hospitals must be seen as a minimum in all regions if we wish any sort of true growth.

ITEM 4: Although she was briefly aided by a gift of food from one of our readers, Rikki Justice, one of eNB's top citizens, died yesterday. See SR passim for a full discussion of the issues Rikki's life and death raise.
