Call To Return eAustralian Territories Sooner
Australian Warlord
There's no reason why eTas & eSA can't be returned ASAP. There's no eBusinesses in eTas that needs to be purchased & to my knowledge only one in eSA. Many congress members whinge about eWA & use it as a excuse. However moving forward the acquisition of eTas & eSA provides us with a better platform to meet the requirements to get eWA back as well as provides us with added depth to the eAustralian economy.
Simply, the only reason why any eAustralian wouldn't want to see us regain eTas & eSA faster is if their primary interests are elsewhere & a strong eAustralia isn't their top priority.

Good Points from an economic point of view however we already signed an agreement with eIndo.I want the states back as much as you do but we should honor what we agreed with them. Doing otherwise I think would not be very productive for the country our word should be our bond.
I agree with both of your sentiments. I'm wondering whether a change in the eIndonesian CP in a couple of days (which is looking likely) may change the landscape in this regard? Just a thought.
I know about the agreement, I argued against the long timeframe at the time. There's no reason why we shouldn't at least be talking to eIndonesia about this. If the current CP is receptive to this (I believe it's possible) then maybe we could get eTas & eSA befor the CP election.
Basically the main reason is underpopulation. Its to easy to make it into congress these days and we would be ripe for PTO's. I believe we are spose to be getting 1 of them very shortly if I wred correctly.
Br0ad you've always been against us regaining our territories. PTO's can occur just as easily now. Infact in one way a PTO would be harder when we regain more territories as it's more population & more votes a PTO group would need to PTO us.
How does having more territories equal more population? It took only 2 votes to get into the Senate. How lame. If you spread the current voting population over more territories, more people would just move from more populous states like NSW so that they can get into the Senate with probably only one vote if they moved to Tasmania.
More states would be nice, but would disrupt a rather underpopulated nation.
AW im a rationalist not a dreamer ok, stop making up fairytales. The point is if a country wanted 2 they could eff us up regardless politically, research your stuff. I agree with Suntan as its a pretty easy to understand answer. We are stretched atm so there is no need to rush regions until our population grows, its a fact of life.
Keep pretending im some eIndo puppet trying to stop us from getting more regions, aslong as you wakeup with a smile on ur face in the morning.
eNT has the least number of people. If there was concerns about population then surely eNT would have been the last territory we would have fought to get back. eSA also has 1/2 the population of eTas yet the previous congress wanted eTas back first.
These arguments by Br0ad & Suntan are simply a smokescreen.
Australian Warlord, As a Senator I expect better from you.
Comments like.. "Br0ad you've always been against us regaining our territories. PTO's can occur just as easily now".. can land you into trouble.
Be careful how you act, or disciplinary action may be handed out.
As a Senator, I expect any issue to be raised in the Senate, not as a Tool for publicity.
Any response made by your fellow Senators should be responed with maturity.
Don't attempt censorship, you're out of line Pred.
Nobody has any reason to PTO us if we're non-partisan. The PTO fear is irrational, unless you believe we have any enemies or want to start directly meddling in International affairs.
A great man once described this great place the arse end of the earth. Nobody really pays attention to us unless we warrant it.
The recent PTO attempt in eIndo means that they have a vested interested in divesting themselves of unnecessary regions (the fewer the regions, the harder a PTO). So they may *want* to give us Tassie and SA before the next congress election - something that should be explored.
Sorry Ten Cent, that's not how it works. Anyone who PTOs eAus will grow quite wealthy by stripping the enation. Defending againast PTOs is a basic responsibility of egovt.
Defending against PTO's is one thing, expecting them to come because we have two extra states is another entirely.
Just having an ally or two from the various factions is protection enough. Refusing to reclaim all the lands we have sovereign rights too because of our population? ridiculous.
After all, a nobody nation who no one really knows is an easy target, sure, a friend of Indonesia & Romania alike is a political shitstorm to mess with.
Quote TCS : "A great man once described this great place the arse end of the earth. Nobody really pays attention to us unless we warrant it."
I believe that was Keating (former ALP prime minister). Jeff Kennett (spelling may be incorrect)(former Vic premier) also said that Australia has like a flea in the eyes of the rest of the world (something like that).
Spot on AW. It was Keating.
Haven't heard the one from Kennett before though. Interesting way of putting it.
"The point is if a country wanted 2 they could eff us up regardless politically,"
The currently elected members appear to be doing a fine job of that themselves, perhaps others would accept the word of the people ?
Quote : "does he understand that more regions and low populace = every newb and his dog will get into senate?"
Br0ad shows that he has little to no understanding on elections in this game. eAustralia is at it's maximum congress numbers. Returning more territories ain't going to result in any more "newb & dogs" in congress. Infact it can be argued that additional territories are likely to see a better quality of candidate. That's because places like eNT will not be electing 9 people into congress but will only be electing around 6. This means that the lowest three candidates won't get in. Additionally a combination of more players & less centralisation of candidates in eNSW will also help with the quality of people being elected.
I can't see why we shouldn't at least inquire about reclaiming Tas and/or SA early. With the eMatanezians trying to take over and asking for our support the eIndos may want to reassure us staying out of their politics is a better option.
AW you continue to ask the hard-hitting questions that we deserve answers to. keep up the great work.
"Simply, the only reason why any eAustralian wouldn't want to see us regain eTas & eSA faster is if their primary interests are elsewhere & a strong eAustralia isn't their top priority."
There is another AW that you are ignoring!! By breaking the current agreement with eIndo, we would be liable for a 500 GOLD fee. Are you saying that the return of these territories a couple of weeks early is worth 500 GOLD? Just as a rough estimation that is approximately 50% of the current treasury!
So who wants to see 2 states (of no resource potential) returned a couple of weeks early (please remember that the next state to be handed over should happen in the next 2 weeks or so) in exchange for a MINIMUM of 500 gold (as that is simply the breaking fee of the current contract, not the price eIndo may demand for the return).
So if after that point you still want us to break the contract, then i hope for the sake of eAus, that you never become the Treasurer...
I agree. I originally started in eTas when I joined eRepublik as I am Tasmanian. It will give the eAus congree a broader cross-section of people for representation. I think that the reason some of these states have tiny populations too is because Australians find out it's under eIndo control and move away. Like I did!
@Son of Rambo : I'm proposing that we talk to eIndonesia, not that we just go & start RW's.
"Smokescreen"?? For my comments above? WTF?
You think having SA returned instead of NT would have improved our situation? The previous government negotiated for NT to be returned first to improve our resource situation. There may be more people in SA than in NT, but they are probably Indonesians living there and would more than likely move to an Indonesian territory (or perhaps Romanian PTO controlled territory).
By having more territories to spread the voting over, it will not improve the 'democratic process'. The voting is determined by the active players who actually VOTE. Not by head of population that live in any state.
I stand by my previous comment.
Your impatience and willingness to risk a well-negotiated agreement at the behest of your own personal pride is disappointing. Your assessment of the voting system is incorrect and misleading for new players.
A Senator should garnish opinions from the voters, show leadership when it is needed and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Your ranting to return our territories earlier show none of these qualites.
You bemoaned Indonesian PTO while elevated the conduct of the Romanians to almost sainthood, and with the Romanian PTO of Indonesia your assessments are again proven incorrect.
agreed
There is no reason why we should not rule it out, there has been talk in eIndo papers about them not being happy with the current agreement and wanting to look at making changes so there is no reason why we should rule it out completely.
That does not mean I'm for or against it, but as I said, there is no reason to rule it out for now.
But Alex, when you go to the negotiating table, you must be willing to exchange something in return. Or do you go to the Indonesians to beg for the territories earlier and then offer nothing in return?
I guess if you want to press forward, you may be negotiating with the Romanians anyway as they sweep to power. But then have to deal with the aftermath when Indonesia will likely reclaim their country (albeit dramatically altered) back.
Be careful when you go to the negotiating table, as their demands may be difficult to swallow.
We're going for Tas in 9 days. Is there really a reason to go faster? Yes we have our pride and we also have an agreement we're working with but think it through...
If there's no new resources and we ship everyone off to NSW anyway coz of the hospital, won't we struggle to populate Tas.
And every new player that says Oh. I live in Tas.. I'll start there.. means another moving ticket.
is THAT the agenda here??? selling more moving tickets....
Moving ticket conspiracy uncovered by Detective Stinger!

The subject of fast tracking the return of our states certainly requires a further look.
No, we need to get our states back and make sure we can hold them. Slightly different concept. Now, fear is a wonderful motivator: if the eIndos are convinced that eAus states are an unnecessary burden, then not only can we get them back, we will also be safer from a future invasion.
@Son of Rambo - the agreement is just that: an agreement. If they eIndos agree to return the states early, then everyone is happy and we modify the contract.
Not at any cost Ben. But it doesn't do any harm to see if it's possible.
wanting territories back - yes
POTs more likely - yes
but...I think when we get our territories back that would attract people to move to the territories. Then that would kinda balance off everything.
But why are a rushing the regaining of terrioties? We made a deal with the one territory a month! what's wrong with that. I like it. People these days just have no patience! We's going to be back all our territories *period* Why are you so impatience that you want to make it go faster? Not like that would make a HUGE difference. Unless you can forsee something that's going to happen to EAustralia that needs the whole country as a WHOLE to overcomb...I don't see why we just can't be patience and wait.
I don't know much at all about the dynamics of territories, economy and population. I'm just glad to be near a hospital.
One step at a time is always wise so that things can get built up and finalised and then a somewhat seemless progression on to the next bulding/aquisition project.
Step by step so things (money, population/territory, business, buildings) are not suddenly spread too thin in one big bang.
