Cabinet, July 2009

Day 596, 08:36 Published in Ireland Ireland by Starks Hayter

Hello,

Thank you for all the applications I have received. Some were very thought out and well written, swinging my opinion on more than one occasion. I've had to make a few tough decisions, and I offer condolences to those who did not receive a place. I also made a few changes to the departments, which we will see as we go along. One such change is the absence of the Department of Education. Darragh O'Faolain has agreed to keep running the University of Ireland, which can be found on our forums.

Finance and Industry

Minister of Finance and Industry - Brian Boru

Deputy Minister of Finance - Pip Kelly
Junior Minister of Finance - http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1503732'>Vesty

Deputy Minister of Industry - AppleMan
Junior Minister of Industry - bunnieman

Brian Boru is heading this large department as Minister of Finance and Industry. The reasoning behind the split in this Department, is that Brian Boru will have his hands full with a detailed plan to reform our country's economics. The Finance sector will be gathering information for Brian Boru, letting him carry out his reforms. The Industry sector will be in charge of regulating State companies, and managing their stock. This Department can expect some very hard work this term.

Department of Defence

Minister of Defence - Aran Tal
Deputy Minister of Defence - Conor Larkin
Junior Minister of Defence - Eoin O'Sullivan

I admit, I had been expecting Grainne to jump at the chance for MoD, but she informed me that she was too busy to hold the position full time. Instead, Aran Tal will be running the Department. He has had experience in war situations, and as a Commanding Officer. Conor and Eoin have also had experience in the military, and I'm sure they'll do a great job running the Irish Defence Force, and monitoring our military affairs.

Department of Health

Minister of Health - Top Gun
Deputy Minister of Health - ian arbuckle
Junior Minister of Health - John Gormley

Top Gun has applied to be Minister of Health. His activity and former experience in government speaks for itself. ian arbuckle has also had experience in Health, acting as Minister for the end of the last term. Working with Junior John Gormley, I hope to see some good work done in this Department.

Department of Foreign Affairs

Minister of Foreign Affairs - Kiemar
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs - Bryan O'Shea
Junior Minister of Foreign Affairs - Lord Rhindon

Kiemar is returning as Minister of Foreign Affairs after two months out of this job. Working with Bryan O'Shea and Lord Rhindon, I can see this Department doing well. *cough* Deciding to appoint Kiemar over Eamon_de Valera was not an easy decision to make. I hope I've made the right choice, don't let me down, Kiemar 😉

Department of Intelligence

Minister of Intelligence -
binksy
Deputy Minister of Intelligence - Darragh O Faolain
Junior Minister of Foreign Affairs - Padraig_Pearse

This new department, led by three very able citizens, will visit visit embassies or appoint ambassadors for other countries, giving details about our country and government. They will also collect information from different countries and report it back to us.

Department of Information

Minister of Information - Anaille Kolshire

Kolshire, who has been known for his interviews to various Irish personalities in his newspaper Notes From the Outside will be reporting on Irish events and affairs in the media.

Department of Community

Minister of Community - 05637716 (aka Digits)
Deputy Minister of Community - Cun-Bo-Dawex
Junior Minister of Community - clownprince37

The Department of Community received a great reaction from citizens when it was introduced last month as led by Digits. Digits will be working with Cun-Bo-Dawex and clownprince37 to improve citizens' level of enjoyability, and also let eRepublik appeal to new citizens in the hopes that they may stay in the New World.

Good luck to all of you. I would like the head of each department (unless the head of the department delegated it to some other member) to report to Anaille Kolshire on a regular basis. If you do not, he'll come looking for you anyway, so make your lives a bit easier and make sure to report.

Regards,
Starks Hayter
