Cabinet, July 2009
Starks Hayter
Hello,
Thank you for all the applications I have received. Some were very thought out and well written, swinging my opinion on more than one occasion. I've had to make a few tough decisions, and I offer condolences to those who did not receive a place. I also made a few changes to the departments, which we will see as we go along. One such change is the absence of the Department of Education. Darragh O'Faolain has agreed to keep running the University of Ireland, which can be found on our forums.
Finance and Industry
Minister of Finance and Industry - Brian Boru
Deputy Minister of Finance - Pip Kelly
Junior Minister of Finance - http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1503732'>Vesty
Deputy Minister of Industry - AppleMan
Junior Minister of Industry - bunnieman
Brian Boru is heading this large department as Minister of Finance and Industry. The reasoning behind the split in this Department, is that Brian Boru will have his hands full with a detailed plan to reform our country's economics. The Finance sector will be gathering information for Brian Boru, letting him carry out his reforms. The Industry sector will be in charge of regulating State companies, and managing their stock. This Department can expect some very hard work this term.
Department of Defence
Minister of Defence - Aran Tal
Deputy Minister of Defence - Conor Larkin
Junior Minister of Defence - Eoin O'Sullivan
I admit, I had been expecting Grainne to jump at the chance for MoD, but she informed me that she was too busy to hold the position full time. Instead, Aran Tal will be running the Department. He has had experience in war situations, and as a Commanding Officer. Conor and Eoin have also had experience in the military, and I'm sure they'll do a great job running the Irish Defence Force, and monitoring our military affairs.
Department of Health
Minister of Health - Top Gun
Deputy Minister of Health - ian arbuckle
Junior Minister of Health - John Gormley
Top Gun has applied to be Minister of Health. His activity and former experience in government speaks for itself. ian arbuckle has also had experience in Health, acting as Minister for the end of the last term. Working with Junior John Gormley, I hope to see some good work done in this Department.
Department of Foreign Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs - Kiemar
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs - Bryan O'Shea
Junior Minister of Foreign Affairs - Lord Rhindon
Kiemar is returning as Minister of Foreign Affairs after two months out of this job. Working with Bryan O'Shea and Lord Rhindon, I can see this Department doing well. *cough* Deciding to appoint Kiemar over Eamon_de Valera was not an easy decision to make. I hope I've made the right choice, don't let me down, Kiemar 😉
Department of Intelligence
Minister of Intelligence - binksy
Deputy Minister of Intelligence - Darragh O Faolain
Junior Minister of Foreign Affairs - Padraig_Pearse
This new department, led by three very able citizens, will visit visit embassies or appoint ambassadors for other countries, giving details about our country and government. They will also collect information from different countries and report it back to us.
Department of Information
Minister of Information - Anaille Kolshire
Kolshire, who has been known for his interviews to various Irish personalities in his newspaper Notes From the Outside will be reporting on Irish events and affairs in the media.
Department of Community
Minister of Community - 05637716 (aka Digits)
Deputy Minister of Community - Cun-Bo-Dawex
Junior Minister of Community - clownprince37
The Department of Community received a great reaction from citizens when it was introduced last month as led by Digits. Digits will be working with Cun-Bo-Dawex and clownprince37 to improve citizens' level of enjoyability, and also let eRepublik appeal to new citizens in the hopes that they may stay in the New World.
Good luck to all of you. I would like the head of each department (unless the head of the department delegated it to some other member) to report to Anaille Kolshire on a regular basis. If you do not, he'll come looking for you anyway, so make your lives a bit easier and make sure to report.
Regards,
Starks Hayter

I am looking foward to work with TG *Hugs the Minister TG * 😛
Thank you for the promotion starks! I look forward to working with kiemar and Lord Rhindon.
And I am sure Kiemar will not let you down when he has two very opinionated politicians to keep an eye on him. 😉
I am dissappointed with this big cabinet, but I wish you all the best of luck nonetheless.
I'm a little worried about the size myself. This is Too Many Cooks Vs. Many Hands. We'll see what happens
You're worried about the size, yet you go ahead and implement it anyway? 🙂 Nice to see it's gotten pretty partisan 🙂 and than people said I was partisan 😃
Thanks for your confidence starks i look forward to working with binsky and darragh 🙂
Thank you for putting your trust in me I hope to do my best.
Did pdiddy not apply for Health Minister?
He did not
Good, well you banked alot on experience so it should pay dividends 🙂
Thank you for the appointment.
Nith sai😛
"Nice to see it's gotten pretty partisan 🙂 and than people said I was partisan 😃"
Im hoping you meant to write "non-partisan", or you are joking and I Im just missing it.
There are 22 cabinet positions, 50% of which are staffed by Non-ISRP members. Of those 11 non-ISRP members, 4 are IUP members.
Im sure I just misunderstood.
nice one starks
i got a good group there wit darragh and PP
Thanks for the appointment, i look forward to working with Digits and Cun-Bo-Dawex! Best of luck to everyone who got chosen!
Thanks for appointing me.I wouldnt let u down Starks and looking forward to working with Conor and Aran Tal!
Nice choices. Good luck everyone! 🙂
Good luck, good choices...we shall see how Kiemar does
Thank you very much. I will work very hard.
Well done everyone who got appointed I'm sure you will all do a great job.
Starks?? not too big is it??, Remember 2000 years ago the big guy who got Crucified, he had only twelve apostles to watch over.
Tip: Increase the import tax on timber (Cross) and Iron (Nails) and you might be might be ok ...lol
"I admit, I had been expecting Grainne to jump at the chance for MoD, but she informed me that she was too busy to hold the position full time"
Wow Starks, that was a fine bit of poetic license. As I recall it went more like this🙁edited for brevity, but preserving general gist):
me -I'll never want MoD cos then I couldn't travel.I'd like dM.o.D. though if poss.
you- Lots of people want it, including.... so you could apply and see what happens.
me- I'm RL dead busy now, so if I have to prove on paper what I've done, it would take too much time to do justice to a proper cv before the deadline you have given me. If there's lots of applicants including ..... I would be happy to take a back seat so everyone gets a chance to share skills for the benefit of IDF as whole.
That aside, you got 3 great soldiers from the enormous queues at your door. They will do the country proud and work their muscly little butts off. I will be happy and honored to serve them.
IDF deserves leadership with focus and no partisan views. I don't give a **** who you vote for when you're in a trench beside me, you're still my beloved brother. Lets not lose that spirit in the bun-fight here.
On a lighter note, very best of luck to all appointed. There is so much still to do here, it makes my eyes bleed. We can be a stronger nation if we just drop all the crap and allow the talent to flourish. And support it properly.
Disappointed in what I thought was a fair and private conversation between us Starks. Not a good start for me, this.
And Nith, thx for gesture, I got it, even if others didn't.
aye, I didn't apply pip. My life is very busy right now and I really don't want to add one more thing to the plate. When I resigned I noticed how nice it was not to have to go through all the health management stuff. lol
I mourn the loss of Grainne in the Ministry of Defense, but it looks like you've got a great group of people running the show. I will continue to watch and see what else I can learn from this great nation. The grace and dignity of the outgoing party in power has impressed me greatly. I truly feel this country is a beacon of the true meaning of civilization.
Hmmm.. i know someone who'll be wanting to reduce the import tax on nails and wood..lol, You'd have made a fine dMOD grainne, maybe next time round you'd have my vote.
@Nog, I'll want to reduce tax on metals for the manufacture of medical devices, starting with rehabilitating knee-joint patients LOL, humble thx, and remote hug.
thanks i look forward to working with everyone and will not let you down
Don't worry, plenty of room on the hill, they managed to fit 3 cross's in last time..lol
