Bye-bye [EN]

Day 1,757, 13:35 Published in Germany Germany by Caroline au Marymont

Ohai Ladies & Gentlemen,

On 9th of September I had my real life birthday, and 10 days later, on 19th I have my 4th eRepublik Birthday. Four years ago I joined New World as a citizen of eFrance. It was truly exciting to see alliances being born, dying, citizens gaining fame for different reasons, epic battles for regions, truly unique bugs or features attracting the gameplay.

It was really, really nice to meet all of you — people. I saw some of you only sometimes at IRC or battlefields, I talked to some of you a bit, and I really got to know some of you. Hell, some of you became my best friends, friends like I have never had in real life. Thanks to all of you, and sorry to certain someone, whom I could tell ‘sorry’ like a milion of times and it would be never enough.

eRepublik delivered me many emotions — varying from happiness through euphory to sadness. Everyone likes winning, nobody likes losing. I have been a Country President, a Party President, kind of an alliance leader, and many more — I’ve probably tried all roles in this game. Some of them were better, some were worse.

Oh, I’ve been also a Moderator. Obviously, I cannot tell much about it, but it was really cool to be able to help all of you and to know that my help made you somehow happy, even if sometimes you didn’t know it was me who helped you. Seriously, I was enjoying it a lot till the moment when someone misused my trust, but it’s not the proper time nor place for this story. Anyway, it was really, really nice to be a part of such great team. Ladies and gentlemen, I won’t say nicknames to be fair, but thanks to all of you for everything.

So, how about getting to the topic of the article... The truth is that I haven’t been logging in to eRepublik for some time, except when asked to. I had a certain task to do, and I finished it. I simply stopped caring about strength, about rank, about everything... except people.

But most of you are outside, at Facebook, at IRC, so I don’t need an in-game account just to contact you — there are other ways. And believe me, I will use them 🙂

However, I won’t stay in this game much more longer. I didn’t even plan to write an article. Despite all my claims, leaving eRepublik quietly sounded just like a perfect plan, however, I realized one simple fact — it would be very unfair towards those, who supported me through all those years in New World. So yeah, I decided to write an article just to let you know that I won’t be around anymore.

Maybe some of you noticed that I didn’t mention any nicknames in this article. Well, the thing is simple — it would be very unfair to feature some people, while all of them really made my time in eRepublik very nice, more or less. Some of them maybe don’t even know about it. But seriously, a big thank you goes to all of you, for everything that you did or did not do. I think that those whom I am thankful to the most, know about it.

I’ve just moved to the region, where I was eBorn — Paris Isle of France. Ironically, right now it’s owned by ePoland, the country where I spent most of my eLife. And I’m going to let my character die here. That does not mean that I won't be around at IRC. I guess that sometimes I will bump in. If someone needs to talk to me, ask around for my Facebook, if you are trusted, you will receive it.

Most probably this article neither won’t get to Top International, neither won’t be shouted like a link to an epic battle, nor will be featured on eRepublik facebook fanpage, but still — I hope that you still read it.

Anyway, I could write so much about my eLife, but my train to Real Life is leaving soon and I need to catch it. Bye-bye, and see you somewhere else in the Internetz.
