Fellow eAmericans,
We are in the midst of a great and terrible war. A war that has lasted for as long as many of you have been playing the game, and it shows few signs of letting up. The political division of the eUSA before the war was one of the country’s biggest weakness which PEACE was able to exploit in the initial invasion. Our country has toughened since then. We’ve grown, we’ve matured, and we owe it to you, the citizens. But with all the difficulties our country is facing I believe there’s all the more reason for us to have political competition and honest political debate. We need new voices in Congress in a time of war, fresh ideas in the political scene, but new does not necessarily have to imply inexperienced.

Who I am
I am a 6 month player of eRepublik. I've been a Congressman in the past from the state of Kansas. I've held cabinet positions in the United Independents Party, and am currently serving as VP of that excellent group of eAmericans. I've helped run multiple businesses through my org, and I've been an Army officer. You may also know me through this little newspaper, particularly my Ameriad epics which I have thoroughly enjoyed writing to try and do my part and boost the eAmerican spirit. I was a founding member of the Sons of Liberty, and have been an active leader in resistance wars through that organization. I feel that I have run the gamut a good deal in this game, and had a lot of experiences that would help me in Congress.

Platform for South Dakota
I signed up to run in South Dakota before we had even liberated the place. I was looking at a map, thinking of where to run, and I decided to have a bit of confidence in eAmerican resolve. I signed up to run in this election with the confidence that the eUSA would recover South Dakota in time for me to run there. And even if somehow South Dakota is not in the hands of the eUS at the time of the election, I’ll accept that as fate telling me I don’t need to run for Congress right now!

What I'll do in Congress:
1. Strengthen the military in a time of urgent national need (no-brainer) and encourage further cooperation with the resistance groups (I’m a leader in the Sons of Liberty). I'll also work to pursue a foreign policy that centers on defense and helping small countries get a leg up wherever PEACE is dragging them down.
2. We need an economic shot in the arm. I'll look into ways to try and boost the economy back to its glory days. As a business manager and previous member of Congress, I have a pretty good idea how our economy functions.
3. Encourage gov't openness and accountability: I served on the Government Oversight Committee in my first term in Congress, and was the author of the first Congressional Activity Reports published for you to see what Congress is up to. I will pursue more of this in the future.
4. Keep the debate going: in times of war, sometimes it is easy to drop democracy for awhile and run things a little more autocratically. Heck, rule by the few is always easier than rule by the many. So I will be an active voice in the eUS forums and not let us stagnate. We always need new ideas, new infusions of blood to jump-start our gov't.
5. Be multi-partisan and independent: I'm a member of the UIP, but I think that RL political ideologies are really non-existent in the realities of eRep politics. That being said, I think we have great eAmericans in every party. I will work with every single one of them, and loyalty to the USA will be my first loyalty, not a party.
6. Bring an experienced voice to Congress. I’ve been there before, I’ve been a participant in the world of eRep politics for quite awhile now.

So, in conclusion, vote for Blake Chrysostom for Congress in South Dakota!
