I have some simple questions toward the fyrovians

First some undeniable facts :

1)It is well known that in ancient Greece there were city states,city kingdoms that fought each other.They were all Greeks,spoke Greek dialects BUT fought for domination

2)It is well known that in ancient Greece in order to participate in the Olympic was mandatory to be Greek. Macedonian King Alexander I participated in the 80th Olympiad of 460 BCE

3)Alexander the Great conquered/unified all Greece, His city state conquered/unified all the other city states in order to fight the persian empire

HERE IS THE QUESTION
Why Alexander's the Great language before,during and after the conquer of Greece was Greek?why he didn't change it to something else.He was the ruler of Greece.
