Branches of our government and why you should support Bradly Reala & Military
Emperor Rick
Delegates at the Constitutional Convention wanted to divide power within the federal government. They did not want these powers to be controlled by just one man or one group. The delegates were afraid that if a small group received too much power, the United States would wind up under the rule of another dictator or tyrant.
To avoid the risk of dictatorship or tyranny, the group divided the new government into three parts, or branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch.
In eRepublik however we don't have this setup. (due to game mechanics, and the resistance to RP)
Instead it looks like this...
(Right click to view image larger)
Let's start reviewing our branches of eGovernment.
Executive Branch: The election for POTUS is a popularity contest between the members of the elitist community. It can be argued that this is no different then IRL elections, the powers of POTUS however aren't. POTUS can appoint whoever he/she wants in his cabinet, wage war, and issue any executive order without any sort of check from another branch. The only thing that can be done to stop a rouge POTUS is an impeachment by Congress due to game mechanics.
Legislative Branch: Senators are selected by the elitists through a committee, which guarantees zero competition against their favorite candidates. This is done through the disguise of the FEC which was originally established to prevent foreign PTO's. Once candidates have been arranged it is almost impossible for any opposition to be elected due to the emplacement of blockers and mobile voters. Congress for the most part sets the budget of the US and organizes government programs such as Meals on Wheels and other non essential things (most important roles are appointed by the President). Congress now wants the ability to influence the military, and ill explain that further below.
Judicial Branch: Doesn't exist - although in the old forums there was a court that attempted to fill this void (Jude Conners was heavily involved) however it was downplayed as RP and was disbanded.
Military Branch? The military has traditionally been independent from elitist influence. The only connection being; used as a weapon by POTUS to fight our wars. The structure is completely independent from outside influences and open to the everyday player until relatively recently.
The Elitists have always wanted to control the military, however inside they have to compete with the average citizen equally. Congress recently passed a law allowing it to impeach the leadership of the military citing "corruption and misuse of powers". In the past the military has been criticized for its use of blacklists to exclude individuals for personal grudges. (I find it interesting that a large percentage of those blacklisted are enemies of the elitist community) The infiltration of the military has been going on for years yet it is unable to dominate it's leadership 100% of the time... that is until Congress' new law. Congress will now have the ability to cycle through its council until they can appoint one of their own to dominate it.
The military has resisted and finally reached a breaking point.
That is where Bradly Reala comes into play.
This Revolt is against oppression and corruption, People of America need to wake up and get active! We need to take back our country from the criminals who run it.
UPDATE: There's still confusion what an Elitist is... It's a social clique pure and simple. Perhaps this group deserves an official name but it is for the most part described as such. Read my previous article.

interesting. icni pu oynu pozhar.
You can't use 'elitist' in every sentence and expect to actually be taken seriously.
"In the past the military has been criticized for its use of blacklists to exclude individuals for personal grudges. (I find it interesting that a large percentage of these blacklists are enemies of the elitist community)"
That doesn't even make sense, because why would the 'elitist community' that 'appoints' congress complain about the military blacklisting an enemy? It's not about the majority of the blacklist, its about the 'minority' on the blacklist for no reason, like Sir Valaro Volcrum and such.
Want into Congress so bad? Actually convince a decent amount of people that you're competent, give them some tickets and snipe yourself in past the blockers. Or actually bother to get involved with the 'elitists' and also prove your competency. If you did not constantly rail against their every move and treated people with mutual respect you would not find yourself fighting an uphill battle with everything.
Or, just get the hell out. It's not like there aren't literally handfuls of small nations that speak English that would love an active immigrant. Don't like the US? Let it fall and laugh at the sidelines while you have your own fun somewhere else. This is a game--if you want to really get mad at something, go out in the Real World and make a difference.
Voted. Great article.
The lack of a judicial branch renders Congress' claim to justice and accountability null and void. (Not to mention the election practices that would, in RL US, be illegal)
You do realize that Bradree was president once, right? And is also part of an elitist decision making body himself. It's called the JCS bro.
Psst Rick, Pfeiffer is going to yell and scream at you like a child for revealing this...save me the logs, eh? 😉

@Hekter: Do tell me, Whats the nation of the ePhilippines doing these days? I mean aside for acting like a retirement/transfer point of sorts for most of the burned out eUS elitists? I mean hell all you had to do was hand over the keys to the kingdom so to speak and you got instant protection. Do you even know what the end game is for the ePhilippines? Or are you just going to sit there and be fed horse apples until the other shoe drops?
I heard the former US Military / Brad's Army ran off with all the companies they'd been entrusted with?
@Relorian Luna, deploying all around the world, reorganizing the military, accepting eUS immigrants that are sick of their home nation's bullcrap, and loling at the stupidity here, mostly.
Speaking of which, is their any end-goal for any nation, ever? I've yet to see an entire nation quit just because they'd achieved some fantastical omg-amazing accomplishment. Serbia just wiped Croatia, and I don't see everyone quitting en-masse, saying that their lives are finally complete.
As for 'keys to the kingdom', go back to the asylum, because I have no idea what you're raving about. Sure smells like ad hominem up in here. You didn't even refute a single point of mine.
Sorry I dont support people that steal.
Wow, I don't know where to start. This comment will be abbreviated.
1. Am I an elitist? I've been playing since Nov. 15th, 2010.
2. Read the new amendment. No JCS, SoD is appointed by Exec. not Congress.
3. No game mech. for the military either. They exist because we say they do. They are the same as a militia now.
4. In what way did Congress control the military? IMO, the XO debacle would have went away, that leaves us with transparency of spending the money.
5. I'm done. Go read it for yourself. All the threads are in the public side of the Congress boards now so that people can see what happened, instead of just making up stuff.
JCS are as elite as they come. Besides military was never a recognized branch.
Lol at thinking the military is a meritocracy
@alpha: Yeah, most of them. Some negotiation supposed to be going on about getting them back, but who knows at this point.
Read my previous article Thedillpickl - age has NOTHING to do with your elitist status. It's a social clique pure and simple.
Hekter - That doesn't even make sense, because why would the 'elitist community' that 'appoints' congress complain about the military blacklisting an enemy?
They're using it as an excuse to power grab, when their clique are the ones responsible for it. btw Sir Valaro Volcrum is on the blacklist? really?
"Want into Congress so bad? Actually convince a decent amount of people that you're competent, give them some tickets and snipe yourself in past the blockers."
Really? You of all people should know how hard it is to do something like that. Look at the INCi they have the largest party in the US and they could only manage to get 12 people in with ATO operations.
good article
keep politics from running the military
"If you did not constantly rail against their every move and treated people with mutual respect you would not find yourself fighting an uphill battle with everything."
Again really? Your social clique is the most hostile bunch on the forums.
I am not on the forums; I watch US politics from afar. Methinks you have me confused with someone else.
Do I have to speak direct? euphemisms don't translate well do they?
See its articles like this that make the rest of the military look like brainwashed imbeciles
Voted, nice article.
Syrup: For a 7 time congressman, you should know your constitution better.
I. Governing Principle:
The three branches of government are the executive, congress, and military. These three branches conduct themselves based on how they and the code define their internal and external procedures.

Whoa whoa! The president cannot order congress to do anything. Nobody can make them press the vote button.
@Rick, Just to blow your mind, 2 of the 11 votes that got me into Congress were from INCi. Another 2 votes came from my employees, unsolicited, with no bribes. Sounds like I'm part of an elitist clique doesn't it? Whatever you want to think.
As a former member of Congress I can attest that: if you were "ordered" to vote a certain way, and you failed to comply. You're in deep shit.
Thedillpickl... Again no - read my previous article. Your not part of their social clique.
"Senators are selected by the elitists through a committee, which guarantees zero competition against their favorite candidates."

They'll put up outsiders to save face but its never more then half a dozen or so. Their super majority is assured every single time. Often times these outsiders won't see more then 1-3 terms.
Your still not replying to the comment by many that the JCS are one of the most elitist groups in eRepublik.
This reeks of derp.
seriously lol. if your stupid enough to believe this horsecrap then you are truly an idiot and part of the reason the world calls america stupid.
also note how im COMPLETELY uninvolved in eUS internal politics.
"The military has traditionally been independent from elitist influence."
lol'd
Anyway, welcome to eRep, where the actives run things. It's like that in every part of every country.
I love how you think the "Elitists" are all one monolithic blob too.
What about the elitists who run the military? What we have here are two competing cliques, the milfags and the polfags.

Ever heard of a "token"? If not, it's because you're it.
Great article.
After reading this I have decided to join The Bradlee Bunch Militia. Thank you it was a good read man.
It was a fair article, I liked the flow chart. Some truth to that without a doubt.
Be a long comment so just one point for today. Disagree that anyone forces a Congressman to vote any certain way. I've voted more than once while in Congress against a popular bill. However, individual Congressmen must indeed have the fortitude to vote independently. Which also means they have to be smart enough (and care enough) to think things completely through on their own.
My opinion, many don't. It's easier to go with the flow.
But no one actually makes anyone vote a certain way. Some peer pressure at times, but big boys can handle that.

Wait... Aren't you a Congressman!?!?!
