Blu Spai in the Base!

Day 1,095, 21:58 Published in USA USA by Dio Soryu

Have you ever asked yourself 'Hey, I wonder where the Government gets their information on our friends and allies? I mean, there's so many countries and people out there and so many interests, how does the President sift through it and figure out what's important and what's not?'

No? I didn't think so. But, now you're thinking about it, aren't you? Well, to answer the question you, not me, just brought up let me assure you that none of our Presidents are psychic nor do they spend every waking moment immersed in eRep... Well, okay pretty close, but they've just got other things to do.

Our base level intelligence comes from our Ambassadors and it's their job to go into foreign nations and experience it as a native would. Our Ambassadors keep tabs on elections and what the public is thinking. If for example, and this is totally hypothetical (don't send me concerned mail!), a new Political movement in Spain were gaining a lot of power and interested in changing allegiance to Phoenix, it would be our ambassadors that found out ahead of time and kept track of just how much of a threat they really represented. Again, that is totally hypothetical and is not actually happening.

I can hear you already, 'Well, that sounds pretty sexy and everything, but what's that got to do with me?' And I am so glad you asked!!!

As it happens, the Department of State is in dire need of Ambassadors and I am talking about you. We need people who are willing to put in the time it takes to really get to know the other nations out there, get to know them as well as their panties do; kissing and telling the President all about it.

Now, I'm not going to lie. It's tough work. Most countries don't speak English and you'll have to rely on translators a lot if you don't speak the language (if you do speak the language, this is a GREAT job for you.) And it requires you to spend time every day reading translated papers, checking foreign forums and really getting wrist deep in the guts of other countries; gathering all that public intel, writing a full report once a month and a weekly update and being on hand to answer any pressing questions that the President, Vice-President, Secretary of State or myself may come up with.

But in the end, it's doing the hard jobs that gets you respect and being an ambassador is a doorway to the executive branch. If you harbor ambitions of being in a Presidential Cabinet, want people to know that you are srs bsns, if you've just got some time to kill, want to serve your country and enjoy a little light spying, or if you plan one day to be President yourself; Department of State is where you prove you've got the chops to get down and dirty.

If this sounds like the right fit to you, please don't hesitate to message me for details.

Signed,
Deputy Secretary of State
Nicholas Ryan
