Join the new world

I am happy to start something new in my paper. It is called "Better Know a ___________" series.

There are many people behind the scenes of government who are just as important as the leaders themselves. While the president is the hand, these peoples are the finger or the fingernail in which if without, the hand is crippled or rendered useless. The "Better Know a ____________" series will interview people involve in government making a difference to their nation from ambassadors, congressman, soldiers, etc. This series will not restrict to only eGerman governmental members but around the eWorld as well. My first interview is with Herrn Sterling the eUS ambassador to eGermany. All interview are conducted in real time and on IRC, so the interview is not scripted. I hope you enjoy it and happy readings.

Konrad How does it feel to be the first on Better Know a Foreign Ambassador?

Sterling I am excited and happy to be the first. 🙂

Konrad Can you tell us about your real life like where you are from and your RL interests?

Sterling I am really from North Carolina, but I am now living in Germany. Anyone who talks to me for any length of time will know Germany is my main obsession; closely followed by Unheilig, my favorite band ever. I also enjoy walking and listening to my music, computers, and erepublik obviously.

Konrad That is great, how are you liking Germany right now?

Sterling I love it, people are much more open minded here then where I am from and it feels more like "home" to me.

Konrad I am glad, I hope eGermany reflects that of the real Germany.

Sterling Me too, although I am from the eUS as well and still reside there.

Konrad Please tell us about yourself like what political party are you in and your experience, offices etc.

Sterling I am from America's Advancement Party. I am currently a eUS Ambassador to Germany, eUS mentor, Immigration Enforcement Officer, and a first time Congressman.

Konrad That is a long list, how are you liking your post?

Sterling I love it. I do get swamped with work sometimes, but I am doing it to help my eNatio.

Konrad That is great, so how are you liking your ambassadorship, are you able to communicate with the eGermans easily and successfully?

Sterling Well, when I first started, I was kindly welcomed, which was somewhat of a surprise for me since we are in opposing alliances. They do tend to speak German, but I know some so it isn't that bad. Also, I am in the IRC almost all the time. I have talked to several high ranking officials and am on good terms with them.

Konrad I am glad. So eGermany.... GREAT nation or the GREATEST nation?

Sterling Depends on which side of the fence you are on I suppose, lol.

Konrad So from your perspective are we a GREAT nation or are we the GREATEST?

Sterling Well I live in the eUS, so of course I have to say that the eUS is the GREATEST; however, eGermany would be my second pick. It is a GREAT nation.

Konrad I see, so in your perspective we are number 2 right?

Sterling Yes. 😉

Konrad At least 2438 people in the new world disagree with you but it is ok. Since we want to be number 1 any place you think we should work on or improve on?

Sterling Well, my nation is number one for me. Personally, I believe we all know eGermany isn't a "top-dog" in terms of population or strength. I think it is important for eGermany to create a baby-boom with a high retention rate. I think that would benefit eGermany the most at this point. Of course, I am not a man of economics, so it's hard for me to comment on that.

Konrad I see, thanks for explaining it to your best of your ability. So with PEACE is now dead or no longer a threat, do you see Phoenix is PEACE 2.0 or something different?

Sterling Well naturally, I do see it as PEACE 2.0 since it consists of former PEACE nations. I just hope that they can truly be a more peaceful alliance

Konrad So without going into state secrets etc, do you think your government will treat Phoenix the same as PEACE or will your government will try to engage Phoenix in a different light?

Sterling I think there are nations the eUS will always be enemies with. One of those nations, eUK, is a member of Phoenix, so I suppose that could create disputes between the alliances, although our nation isn't attacking them simply because they are a member of Phoenix.

Konrad So eUS in your opinion is not against the alliance but some members of it right? I just want to make sure.

Sterling Correct.

Konrad How about you, what are your personal opinions about our new alliance?

Sterling Well, to be honest, I expected another alliance to form from PEACE; however, I see it as keeping boundaries between our alliances, or in other words, I don't see it as trying to encourage better relations between the members of that alliance and the members of this one.

Konrad I see, so business as usual.

Sterling I suppose so.

Konrad So you said you are a Unheilig fan, what is your favorite song from them?

Sterling Gosh, I don't even know where to begin with that decision, I haven't heard one song from them I don't like.

Konrad You must be excited about their upcoming CD.

Sterling Oh yes, very. I will be listening to the sneak peak of one of their songs repeatedly until then.

Konrad So, anything you want to say or questions you have for me and/ or eGermany, since I like to give the interviewee the last comment
