Belgium and Western Australia fall
Aeros
Following intense tanking by Brazil, Hungary and Indonesia, Brazilian forces were able to break through the Australian lines in Western Australia. In Belgium, British forces have occupied the capital of Brussels after EDEN declined to mount a defense. In the Aegean, Turkey has once more repelled the Greek offensive, forcing a cycle of the attack to the Mediterranean Coast. This particular action was done due to the effort to hold Marmara for Romania and regain initiative against Bulgaria. Unfortunately, Bulgaria was able to break through the Romanian defensive line following an intense Tank battle. In Germany, German forces are pressing forward in a furious effort to drive the Poles back in Saxony.
AUSTRALIA
Australia has an NAP with Indonesia that prohibits Indonesia from dispatching its military forces to assist another country in an attack on Australian home soil. As consequence, Brazil has recently experienced a wind fall in the immigration of senior Indonesian tanks, all now sporting Brazilian citizenship. No doubt they even showed their Brazilian passports at the Australian border before they proceeded to blow it to hell. Its rather sad, but it seems only the EDEN countries actually honor their treaties in the letter and spirit of their intention, rather than immediately try to find loop holes around them or else, in the case of Mexico, use an NAP treaty as a weapon to attack us with.
The battle was fairly intense in Western Australia, with the United States holding the wall more or less in place at 200,000 points. The sudden rush of Indonesian, Brazilian and Hungarian tanks however caught the defense by surprise. The US Military attempted to hold the region via a berserk charge, but with most of the American two-click corps asleep and with EDEN’s heavy Tanking divisions absent the military was only able to make things difficult for the Phoenix tankers, but not impossible. Even so, the action cost Brazil upwards of 3,000 gold. It is highly expensive to do that much damage with just tanks, because you have to buy Q5 guns, gifts and wellness boxes for all those involved.
For that reason, it is unlikely Brazil intends to win the current Northern Territory battle. EDEN and Phoenix just wrapped up another suicide Tank battle in Marmara, so everyone is wearing thin. Brazil will also be recovering wellness from yesterday's Western Australia battle. Furthermore, Northern Territory is not as strategic as the second attack option Brazil has available. South-Australia is positioned in a manner that it borders every single Australian territory. If Brazil captures South-Australia, they can permanently initiative lock the Australians and then launch a simultaneous strike on every Hospital region in the country. With the wall steadily rising into an expensive proposition for Brazil in Northern-territory, it can be stated with high confidence that the Brazilians intend to hold their ammo, and then go all out in South Australia.
As an aside, Australia has highly protective Gun taxes that prohibit any other country from exporting to them. Consequentially, Australian Q1 guns cost several dollars more then they do in the EDEN countries. In the case of Q5 guns, Americans pay around .8 Gold. Australians pay 3 gold, buying from their one and only Q5 gun store. If Australia were to lower their tax rate, the US, Spain and Greece could start exporting Q5 guns to Australia and the Aussies could buy them for around 40 AUD instead of 150 AUD. To encourage such exporting, they could then sign contracts with foreign Q5 companies to reimburse for the export licenses’ if they intend to jack the tariff back up after the war is over. Just a thought.
*EDIT*
Brazil sure showed me. They tanked Northern Territories as well. Wonder how much money they have.
TURKEY
EDEN made a furious attempt at holding onto Marmara today, in order to preserve Romanian initiative (or tempt Bulgaria to trigger MPP’s). Unfortunately, Romania has been fighting without MPP’s in its particular campaign, and that deficit in damage proved to be the deciding factor. Bulgaria and its MPP's were able to retake Marmara and will most likely return it to Turkey at some point. For Romania though, they have a lot to be proud of considering they were able to do so much damage against the Phoenix core members. With Romania’s campaign now coming to end, the damage can now be directed towards the Greek side of the house. It will be interesting to see if this will make a considerable difference in the near term.
UNITED KINGDOM
Phoenix has decided that the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands be unified with the United Kingdom in order to reduce the cost of MPP signing, as well as to improve the industry in these regions. This can now be accomplished thanks to the British victory over Belgium in Brussels. Belgium was liberated by the Romanian “The Group” and the US “SEAL Team 6” several weeks ago and established as an EDEN enclave between France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The Netherlands, which had administered Belgium as part of the de facto “United Netherlands” has always pushed for Phoenix to retake the regions since they were lost. With EDEN now distracted in other theaters, the UK was able to handily reoccupy Belgium. It was most likely decided by EDEN command that it was not worth the effort right now to worry about the outpost in Belgium. With Spain and Poland moving through France and Germany respectively, there is a good chance EDEN will be in a position to take Belgium back conventionally from the British.
GERMANY
After Poland declined to press their attack against the Germans following their victory in the border regions, the Germans were able to mount a counterattack on Polish occupied Saxony and the Swedish military enclave of South Denmark. Sweden declined the battle (most likely to save damage) and retreated the region. This was a fairly tactical move, since Denmark has always stayed in its little corner and lets whoever wants to go through its territory go through so long as they leave Hovedstaden alone. In Saxony, Germany is tanking hard, no doubt hoping for a win due to the EDEN effort in Marmara earlier. Unfortunately for Germany, I think their optimism is unwarranted. Phoenix is very nervous about what the next US move will be in Asia, and Greece is continuing to turn the screws on Turkey. Even more complicated for Germany, the Czech Republic can attack them at any time now and nip a potential counteroffensive in the bud before it can even get started. Phoenix most likely will not commit considerable support to the German attack until after the Poles trip the Hungarian MPP. Of course, the Poles probably won’t do that until the US makes the strike at the Chinese High Iron regions. When that happens the Hungarian MPP is going to be worthless to everyone.
UNITED STATES
The United States is currently the wild card in this war. While EDEN is bogged down in an unholy frag fest in Europe, the USA has pretty much been sailing smooth in Asia. Indonesia was routed with little resistance and Iran bit off its own arm in India in order to avoid an American move towards the High Wood region of Jharkand, though the action may have been a tad premature. The US presently does not possess an active war with Iran, so until such a war is declared the US will have to tread water in China. The problem the US has is the design of China's borders. While a first glance at the map clearly shows Inner Mongolia bordering Heilongjiang, a check of the actual region pages show that Heilongjiang only borders Jillin and Far Eastern Russia. Retarded, I know, but what can you do. During the North American War, PEACE cried foul over similar border design problems between the US State borders, and the Admins kindly redesigned the American map as PEACE advanced. This naturally drove the US nuts, as it changed the strategies and also removed bottlenecks we had been counting on. It’s very likely the US Government is now trying a fairs fair option and is lobbying the Admins to fix China’s borders. If this fix does come, it will most likely be without warning. This means the attack on Heilongjiang is awaiting the ruling of almighty Admin. Hungary must be sweating bullets.
FINAL ANALYSIS
Phoenix had a good shot yesterday of nixing EDEN’s offensive in the bud in the Aegean Islands. That particular failure has permitted Greece to maintain initiative against Turkey. With the preservation of this initiative, the Romanian defeat in Marmara becomes a relatively minor loss in the strategic scheme things. It would have been nice to have won, but it’s hardly the end of the world that we did not. Australia is slated to win the battle of Northern Territory. That said, Australia should be careful not to waste too much more damage. The hammer is going to fall in South Australia, an infinitely more important region.
*EDIT* Oh my Prophetic Soul. Brazil hit South Australia as I was publishing

Again good writing, but very one sided look 🙁
You may try to be a bit little more objective in your articles if you want to be a good reporter 😉
EDEN isn't always the good alliance, that only fights for freedom and loses battles only after heavy PHOENIX tanking 😉
all in one place...

i usually dont comment any articles, but this time i just wanted to say, that ur newspaper is the only one that i read regularly. im rly bored with all those 'look-how-cool-i-am' articles full of not funny comics etc., so having almost all the interesting infomation about situation around the world in one article + some, quite objective opinions about it, is a nice change for me 🙂
keep up the good work mate
very profetic lol
and we did distribute weapons for the population
I've just got done with a class session on Hamlet. Had to quote Shakespeare at least once Rangu : )
You say that now Romania can focus their damage on helping Greece. Well of course they can but I guess you didn't think about the other countries being able to do that too? They had -300k against Romania after half a battle and now they're going to put that in Greece instead.
manahmanah!

Aeros, you publish the most informative paper in all of eRepublik, without a doubt.
Your powers of prediction do not cease to amaze me Aeros! lol
"oh my prophetic soul" 🙂
lol at the ammount of attention dedicated to German theater compared to the massive failure that is Romanian offensive which cost them thousands upon thousands of gold, and even lured Greece into activating turkish MPP-s.
EDEN lost the entire war there, you know that, right?
oh, about "greek initiative" - it is worthless, since it's only point is to block Turkey from striking, once they lose the initiative (say by Bulgarian attack) - you can kiss that high iron Central Greece good bye.
as always, Eden is lossing on all front, but still they are winning somehow 😃
lol, congrats Eden propaganda minister
Australia's economic policies are to me a bit suicidal. They maintain huge import taxes in a country where there are high resources and a low population. As a result they have a workforce which is not able to support the demands of the resource production and their own internal needs. The gun issue just brings this to the front. I had owned an Australian company at one point and sold it because the high labor costs and inability to keep the company staffed for max productivity made it infeasable. While it would raise hell with manufacturing business owners I believe the country would be better served by dropping it protectionist tax policies and letting the manufacturing businesses fail. At that point the country could focus on producing resources. It cannot do both with its present population. It is a country that needs to focus on producing and exporting raw materials. Manufacturing for them is just a diversion from what they should be doing and the high import taxes serve no purpose except to prop up that diversion and leave the whole country in an inefficient and ineffective financial position.
Holy crap. I never realized what a clusterfuck the Chinese borders were.
Prodanov, ah yeah I agree! He forgot to say "Hail Phoenix" therefore his article is not objective.
Prophetic indeed.
Your knowledge of war is making an impression on the entire world.
@MaxHardcore
No one's forcing you to read his newspaper.
Also, it doesn't really matter if Greece loses that high iron, they'll get it back through RWs because they're stronger than Turkey. Hungary on the other hand will never see hellokitty again. :3
i think you are missing something again
and this time for real(or so i think)
another excellent analysis, Lt Aeros, but where's our link to The Army Times? oh there it is!====> http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/the-army-times-198260/1" target="_blank">http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/th[..]260/1
it seems only the EDEN countries actually honor their treaties in the letter and spirit of their intention
haha what a joke, did you pay 5kgold to portugal yet? and the nap only means that they do not attack the country itself.
Pseudo, why would they pay back the 5k gold because of the "spirit of intention"? You do remember that Portugal tried to have the US breaking the treaty and therefore having to pay loads.
Also Aeros, you see now that not only can Romania spend damage on Turkey, but all the other who fought against Romania can now fight for Turkey.
Considering the sitting President who signed the treaty's first words were "this contract is invalid", I'd say that's hardly honoring the "spirit of the treaty". Especially since it was the US who drafted it 😉
Alecian, try again.
Also, p decent article, if a bit one sided.
Also, Northern Territory was conquered after a gigantic tanking effort.
EDEN's offense against Turkey was completely stalled, Romania's initial conquests were wiped out and Greece is going nowhere. PHOENIX has launched successful counter-offenses in Belgium and in Australia. It is now up to the US in Asia to try and get something out of this campaign.
Man, Brazil is definitely breaking the bank on this one.
Also, Australia is not a "Counter-attack" Armande, since Brazil struck first and the country is not in EDEN.
well I'd call it a counter-attack since its success is based on EDEN being busy elsewhere with their own attacks and not assigning enough damage to defend Australia.
you are good reporter but not very objective, this looks like EDEN propaganda
I really don't know why do you have to make some of these BS statements usually reserved for trolling if you're putting so much energy into this 😒
are you kidding me? Aeros is the best damn reporter erepublik has, and I'm sorry he doesn't have lolcats with cheese on their heads shouting ""FAIL EDEN LOLOLOOL WE WIN A BATTLE LOLOL!!21431"""
kindly, gtfo
A few things about the Indo-Oz situation. It's rather hypocritical to say that moving soldiers violates an NAP. When the US was considering peace with PEACE, a large part of the reason was to free up damage to fight for allies, and these two situations are hardly anomalous.
Also, as for the NAP between them, I suggest reading this:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-info-my-neutral-view-as-citizen-regarding-napia-1093062/1/20" target="_blank">http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-inf[..]1/20
I can't say whether or not Nico is right or wrong, but it is something to keep in mind.
Just for the record I'm pro Australia.
Hehe...I don't think that Brazil tanked 3000...But Your dear ally,Romania spent 11000 gold,tanked nearly 9000 gold.Thats a "bit" much.I'm on the other side,but you write really interesting🙂.
The problem with the Chinese borders is that when in th II.WW Romania advanced in China, the admins did nothing to redesign China. In that case the indos would had the chance to block Romania...History is repeating his self, just on the other side..
"EDEN and Phoenix just wrapped up another suicide Tank battle in Marmara"
It was mostly eRomania that tanked alone and drop the wall of 800k in 3-4 minutes 🙂..but because of some bad timing the region was lost for 8k 🙁
"only the EDEN countries actually honor their treaties in the letter and spirit of their intention"
lol
What about Portugal-Usa peace agreement?😁
Jezus Christ.
Belgium wants to be a part of the eUNL, because we can't defend ourself without an union.
And Belgium's economy was very bad since the Romanian occupation. Belgians didn't have any rights they had no work at all, they had nothing to say in the politics etc.
And yes, I have now a Dutch citizen because I left Belgium. I couldn't gain experience points there, I had no money to survive.
