Before you vote...
Weasle
I come here to you today, as one of the few times I come to you as a foreigner. I am a eGreek citizen, am a contributing member to the Greek Army and am ranked 545 in the nation. I love Greece, and everything it stands for.
But because I love Greece and everything it stands for, I come here to you today to represent all those who have left there homelands seeking shelter, equal opportunity, and the right to vote. In most cases they have been met with none of these. Yet still they work for the greater good of the Greece homeland.
Seemingly unwanted and unloved, they keep parting forward. I come to represent these people to you today. I can tell you from firsthand experience, there is nothing more that a potential congressman loves (or should love) than an active voter, and if one out of 5 of those who read this article today, messaged there congressman, demanding action, democracy, equal rights, a fair voting share for those who pay their dues, for an end to taxation without representation, for an end to oppression, change would come!
But, my friends, I, nay, We cannot do it alone, together, foreigner and native Greek, can form one nation, united, and indivisible, before all comers.

no equal rights for barbarians!
"Seemingly unwanted and unloved,"
definitely not true.
You got your share of love as much as we did.
You have to understand that we are a new nation (after liberation) and everything had to be rearranged.
Also you have exactly the same rights and obligations with the rest of us except voting.
Personally i believe as a congressman that voting is not something you need presently. You have to be patient
And the fact that you are still pushing for that matter makes me wonder.
You forget the head president of Greece and all his congressmen are probably 10yr olds with nothing better to do. And they do teach "beaware of strangers" in primary school so you may find it hard to earn their trust.
this guy has been a greek soldier in the greek army for months, he has offered more than you have. hes talking about other foreigners who have come to help greece.
and the environment in greece is terrible for anyone who doesn't speak the language.
fournari take your racism somewhere else.
Fournaris relax...These people have helped us a lot to liberate our lands from the Turks...They deserve our friendship and respect!
@Weasle - "for an end to taxation without representation," are you trying to overthrow the king of england? lol
i am indifferent on the matter if you become congressman or not but dont steal lines from your 5th grade history class. theres other ways to prove your worth and this isnt one of them.
@ephastion - yes we are 10 years old, you hit it right on the nose...

I don't really care about congress or any of that. I guess I used an overused phrase, but its the point that I was trying to make that was important. The idea that they, the foreigners put in as much effort and work as any one of us, and get alienated in their own country because they are immigrants.
Also, a slight clarification to SYNorg, I've had the ability to vote since moving in the country, before this country decided that we were "barbarians". Since then, I've quietly soldiered on(pun intended). Of course there are going to be problem cases, people just coming here for the short term, the inbetweeners, you could say, but in a time where you openly admit your getting your country back together, alienating a part of your working populace, is not in my mind, a smart idea. Honestly, not very many people that have the right to vote, vote anyways.
