Battle Lengths [EN/PL]

Jakiś czas temu, Lt. Scheisskopf przedstawił kilka pomysłów mających na celu poprawę wrażeń z modułu wojennego w eRepublik. Pomysły od walki defensywnej aż po broń nuklearną włącznie. Po przeczytaniu jeszcze świeżego artykułu Amerykańskiego prezydenta, pomyślałem że dorzucę swoje pięć groszy by polepszyć system wojen (nie wiem czy ten pomysł pojawił się już czy nie, ale w każdym razie ja nie widziałem). Koszty rozpoczynania i prowadzenia wojen niejako wzrosły, gdyż ostatnio bardzo dużo golda idzie(ZNIKA) na trening z Napoleonem. Jest mniej golda na wypowiadanie wojen, rozpoczynanie bitew i ogólnie walki.
Moim skromnym pomysłem jest, danie prezydentowi możliwości wyboru długości pojedynczej potyczki. Koszt za standardową 24h walkę wynosiłby 75% normalnej stawki. A dajmy na to 18h czy 36h walka kosztowałaby 100% normalnej stawki. I we w końcu 12h walka , 150% tego co teraz.
Taki mechanizm wprowadziłby planowanie strategiczne na wyższy poziom, jak i aspekt finansowy wojen.

Awhile ago, Lt. Scheisskopf introduced a series of ideas meant to enhance the experience of warfare in eRepublik. They ranged from defensive strategies to a nuclear option. After reading a recent article from the American president, I thought I would throw out an idea to also enhance war (I don’t know if it’s an original idea or not, but I haven’t seen it anywhere). The costs of war have grown substantially because gold is now becoming hoarded by citizens for the training bonuses. There is less gold for war declarations, starting battles, and fighting in general.
My idea is to give the president a choice of battle lengths before he or she starts the fight. The standard battle could remain 24 hours and it could cost 75% of what it does currently. There could also be 18 hour and 36 hour battles that would cost 100% of what it does currently. Finally there could be a 12 hour battle that costs 150% of what it does right now.
The different battle lengths would introduce a new layer of strategy in military planning and also in national financing.

I like it, but I think 12h battles should be MUCH, MUCH more expensive than just 150%... Like, 500%+ of actual cost. Because it would be a VERY powerful feature for the attackers, it sounds almost unfair to the defenders, actually.

@Marcin, yeah 😉 but I'm learning a little of the language as I go.
And I agree with Assato and Davax that it should be more expensive to shorten a battle that much, now that I think about it.
Great idea. But 12 hour battles should be a little more expensive- at least 300%.
Not voted ... This doesn't go with real warfare. I would prefer the battle to end whenever a wall reach half or 1 million or something. That would be more "natural" showing that the overwhelming force of a side in the battle shortens the battle time.
Your proposal sounds interesting strategically though... so I would like to hear more reasoning. e.g. how would alliances benefit from using this module?
there should also be longer battles for training purposes.

Well, I have to agree that battle lengths would alter the gold, and I have an idea of my own to add here, providing it's allowed, of course.
See, implement a "battle tactics" of sorts, where you can somewhat decide HOW you attack, such as....like hit a specific flank, or stuff similar to that, add a depth to the war module that hasen't been achieved before.
So it will be like this:
While enemy is sleaping one is atacking him with a short war. When they wake up - they can't do much or they should spend tons of gold for tanking. Than one attacks enemy one more time with the 36 hours atack and than again (while everyone are sleaping) with a 12 hours atack...
And one day enemy with 1 region will say "OH SHI~! We lose our country while sleaping!!"
So that wont be the fare play imho.

Нумбус, это выгодно будет только американцам. У них будет замечательная фора водить 12 часовые битвы. Потому что кроме них в их часовых поясах живут только бразики и аргентинцы из топ стран. Ну и Канада еще.

Considering that eRepublik is supposed to be a game for people from all other the world and not a few neighbouring timezones only, this idea still needs tons of improvement before it even can be deemed worthy of discussion.
