Battle Cry Interviews - The Zyria Edition

Day 1,217, 21:10 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs

This week, we’re interviewing Major Zyria, one of the Mobile Infantry’s finest. In addition to her current role as Quartermaster for the Mobile Infantry, Zyria has also served in multiple other military branches, Cabinet roles and extra-Cabinet roles. Some have even thanked her for saving the world. Today, we have the first ever interview with the mighty Z.

As with previous interview issues, one of the question-and-answer sets below is fake. Complete BS. Made it up. The first person to correctly PM me (not comment) with the fake question and answer from below will win 2 Q5 weapons. So read on and start guessing!

She has these. Really.

Let's start with your intro to eRep - when were you born and how'd you find the game?

Uhm, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… I found the game through an ad on Travian (city-builder type game), and decided to try it. I was born in January 09, day 413.

What military units have you been in?

I’ve been in the Training Corps, Mobile Infantry, Airborne and also on Seal Team 6. I served in several roles in those branches, mostly PXO/PCO positions. This is my third tour in the MI.

What past and present roles have you filled outside the military?

I’m serving on the Cabinet this term as Security Liaison due to the whole INCI thing. I am also the head of the Strategic Air Command, the anti-Take Over operations of the CIA. In addition, I am serving as the director of the Arm America program for new citizens. In the past I’ve worked extensively with SAC, first under the USAF and then under the CIA. I’ve also volunteered in several government programs of different capacities, including OMB, CARE and the ambassador program.

Wow. So what do you do with your free time?

I’m an avid golfer. I also enjoy restoring classic motorcycles. My dad has a 1973 Harley Davidson Shortster 90cc that I helped him retool. Did most of the chrome work myself.

Zyria’s favorite tattoo (on other people)

So from where do you save the eUSA on a daily basis?

I live in South Carolina, where my favorite thing to do would have to be going to the hole-in-the-wall places for metal/grunge concerts. Here we have guns. I even have some guns myself.

Ah, so you’re a headbanger. Rock on.

\m/

Okay, so how'd you first get involved with the eUS military?

A long time ago, when i was just a newb, I saw an article from the MI Battle Cry, the fourth article published from that particular paper. I pretty much immediately fell in love with the ideas, and decided to work my way up to 4 strength so I could join. Colonel Dania’s writing got me in the military, and really into the game itself. by that point I had been away from the game for about 5 months.

So the Battle Cry saved your eLife?

Yep. I'll freely admit that i wouldn't have been on the game today if it weren't for MI.

/me shells out 5 gold for that response.

What was your favorite V1 moment?

When I got my first company. It was a gift company, but I could ever get it to work, but I was damned proud of myself for saving all that gold.

How about v2?

I'd have to say the one Nunavut battle that went into serious overtime... either that or getting into Beta and having a ton of money. Or possibly the entire V2 Beta testing phase in general.

Okay, who was your favorite officer or superior, military or non-military?

Favorite MI officer was EnochRoot. He was my first PCO, way back when. Taught me a lot about the Monetary Market and the game in general.
Now, it's a tie between Heather Fuchs and AutumnsDawn. Both have helped me through some tough times IRL and both are very awesome people.

Almost done, hang in there. Cake or pie?
Seriously?
Yes. It’s required.
Alright alright, but I must answer with a picture.

No words required.

Now I have officially seen everything, except for a three-headed monkey.
Okay, last question. Who (person or country) is your favorite eRep opponent, and why?

I have two answers for you. First answer: the admins. They make this game so hard to enjoy, but somehow we find ways to do it anyway.
Second answer: Russia. They along with Hungary had us beaten back to Florida at one point in WW3, but somehow we fought all the way back and even took most of their regions too. It was fun seeing how far we could go, and even more fun renaming FER to Western Alaska 😉

Awesome interview. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. Any last words?

Thanks for (finally) having me. Also, i feel old... 😶

If you are at least 5 days old, your strength is at least 500 and your battlefield rank is Lieutenant or higher (or you can do at least 85 influence per fight barehanded) and you like pie as much as we do, you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then get your military career started in the Training Corps!
