Basic knowledge - Strength and Ranks

Day 686, 02:49 Published in Malaysia Cyprus by OmniCorp Holding
I. The most valued stat for soldiers – strength

Strength is the most important stat for a soldier. Train every single day – that is the only way to increase it. Why is strength so important? Because all other damage increasing stuff has a limit (eg: you can not have more than 100 wellness, can not reach higher rank than field marshal, can not strike with better weapon than Q5) but strength is unlimited – so it is imperative to raise it as high as possible. It also means that an account registered later in the game will not have a chance to become as powerful singularity as an earlier account. But fear not my brethren there is safety (and victory) in numbers.

II Rank – sweet and delicious but do not take too much too fast

Briefly the rank is determined by how many damage a character caused with all his fights. The more damage the higher rank, and of course higher rank gives us even better damage. Unlike strength the rank of a character can be affected. And this is where the problems begin.

There are many articles around the eWorld trying to summarize the best way to get that Field Marshall rank. Some are stupid some are not but mostly they all share a common point: encouraging people to hit hard with weapons to raise the amount of their damage faster. Spend shitloads of money to do so is not uncommon amongst citizen of the eWorld.

But is that worth it? - We have to calculate it!

First we need a fight calculator. Fortunately there are some in the internet. I do not want to propagate one or another just try typing into Google “eRepublik fight calculator” and voila. Now, we can make some testings how our damage rate seems if we are colonels or generals or whatever. (Using a fight calculator is essential to judge a certain type of weapon / method worth the effort or not.) I do not want to lost in statistics and numbers, everyone can make those if has got the time for it. Just go to the summary:

Rankings is less and less important as you advance into higher ranks. The turning point is somewhere between colonel and general. What that it means? When you reach the rank colonel, you should stop a while and think: it is worth to make 10% more damage for a good amount of money spent to weapons or use only as many weapons as you can purchase form your salary? And, when you reach the rank general the question sounds like this: Is it worth to spent shitloads of money to weapons just to hasten the opportunity to make 8% more damage each fight?

So here is our ultimate advice on gaining rank at the cheapest mode:

1.)
At start you should fight with barehanded until reach the first supersoldier medal (strength level 5)

2.)
From now you may have enough money to make the necessary investments to get your wellness auto-balanced (see previous article) and got enough strength to begin advancing ranks easier. (Important note: to reach a rank you should achieve a given damage number. When your strength is higher each of your blow causes more damage. So if you use weapons when you got higher strength, you reach next rank with fewer fights - and spending less money on weapons.)

3.)
So, you have got strength level 5 and all the necessary stuff to get high wellness each day. Now it is time to use Q1 weapons, as many as you can afford to buy. (You should always keep 5 gold or 10 gold for unforeseen situations at reserve, but all other gold can be used to buy weapons – you need to change it to MYR on the monetary market first, of course)

4.)
When you achieve the colonel rank you should consider whether continuing sending money on weapons or turn some other aspects of the game (company running for example) If you decide to go forward, you should use the old good Q1 weapons - 5 pieces per fight if you can fund it, or if you become rich underway 6 pieces and 10 gift, too.

5.)
And finally you reach general rank. Now, take a breath and buy 18 high quality weapons (see next article but here is some clue: Q4) to your organization (You have one, haven’t you? See next article, anyway) and transfer 100-150 MYR to the org too. It enable you to fight 3 whole day with high weapons each day 6 times with gifting - just donate 6 weapons to your characters and buy gifts with the org and offer it to the character after the first fight. This should be your personal reserve for emergency fights.

6.)
At last use all your free money (not using in banking, monetary, companies, reserves etc.) to continue buying Q1 weapons for fights not too important. Remember: when there is a serious fight you have the right type of reserve at your disposal in your organization. And sooner or later you occasionally reach FM.
