Day 950, 14:53 Published in Canada Canada by jbdivinus

eCanada,

There are some ugly truths that for months have been ignored by those who seek power in our government. People who put their own power above that of everyone else, who take credit but no action. People who don't give a damn about quality.

CitizenB is a character who embodies all of these traits, and worse. He is almost personally responsible for the huge size of the DAL...which has been at over 600 members. That looks very nice for a party....but when 320 DALers don't vote in elections, you can see the cracks underneath the glorious surface. 320 citizens who did not vote, that is more citizens than the membership of any other party in eCanada! The DAL does not take care of its members. It seems to recruit them for votes, and throws them away afterwards. If you still aren't convinced, look at membership numbers.. the DAL has had a drop of over 50 members in the past week or so, and thats not just people leaving because they hate the party. Look at the end of their membership list, its a list of dying citizens, who will receive no help unless you go out and give it to them. No one in the DAL has stepped up so far to do it.

I challenge them to do so.

And then there is the Ministry of B. The Canadian Ministry of Industries, run by Citizen B has in the past received a monthly budget of 50000 CAD. Thats over twice the value of what 1ronman stole from the CAF. The Ministry of B is the largest recipient of taxpayer dollars outside of the army.

Do you know how much accountability has been given from Citizen B in this ministry?

None

We don't know where our tax dollars are going, except for cryptic responses from Citizen B telling congress it is urgent he gets funding. CitizenB started a discussion on the eCanadian forums in congress about transparency. When his ministry was brought up, by several congressmen, all he had to say was "stay on topic" and proceeded to ignore all those comments.

Not anymore

I will be proposing legislation in congress that instead of a monthly budget of 50,000 CAD, (or whatever astronomical amount CitizenB will ask for), funding be granted periodically based on data provided by the Ministry of B. This data must include the names and salaries of all government employees. Congress has a right to know to whom our money goes, and how much we are paying them. This data must also include any other expenses the ministry incurs, such as the purchasing of raw materials, how many must be bought, how many have been bought, and from whom.

It is our duty as Canadians to hold our government to a higher standard than it is being held to today. I not be neglecting that duty.

Support accountability in the government, support knowing where your tax dollars are going. Bware of those who would 'request' our tax dollars without explanation. Ironman, another longtime DALer, has shown us how dangerous trusting one person with so much can be.

Say no to B

PS: I hope Citizen B follows this up with a complete report to congress of the spendings of the MoI. He can't use "I'm too busy" or "its too much work" as an excuse (one he has regularly used in the past), notice the length of his comments in recent articles, he has the time. If he does report to congress, I will print a retraction and thank him for doing his duty to the people.
