Ayame Crocodile for Prime Minister

Day 1,748, 05:01 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ayame Crocodile

Hello fellow eUk’ers and friends,
Many of you will know me already but for those who don’t my name is Ayame Crocodile, I’ve been a citizen of our fine nation since the day i was born and a proud member of the PCP since able to join a party and have always favoured cooperation and friendly competition over bitter party politics. Much of my time has been spent in the background, helping in my party, giving info to new players and contributing where i can to the community both on the forums and irc.

I may not have the experience of other candidates, yet I have drive and ambition, a sense of diplomacy and most importantly the best for our nation at heart. It’s for this reason that I was decided as the best candidate for a Coalition to challenge in this months President Election, not out of partisanship but because the political scene has become stagnant without real policies and ideas coming forward to challenge.

If things are to ever change, if those outside of the already established cliques are to make headway in opening doors, Then a unified coalition is required to put it’s shoe in the door and ensure that the Government is transparent, fair and that all positions are open to enthusiastic and involved members of our community.

It’s my belief that time after time several parties have held the presidency and had a majority in parliament, and that each time a great opportunity to impact the whole structure and essence of the eUK for the better has been squandered. Presidents have come and gone and little to nothing has ever changed, we as a nation have been trudging through the same motions month after month.

Every time Small groups of well informed individuals have kept hold of the routes of knowledge, using that monopoly and control of information to justify their decision making process. Whether it is through arrogance, elitism or just fear, these circles of power have shown a lack of trust in the people of the eUnited Kingdom.

There's a common feeling that we have been kept in the dark, perhaps for fear that even if we were to have the same knowledge, information and facts that the public would not draw the same conclusions as the ruling powers. This is just wrong. Not only would openness with the people allow better understanding as to how decisions had been reached but would in my eyes make people more interested in joining the process, in having a real say and getting involved.

It's through openness that trust is earned, unity is formed and common goals created and met. We have been a nation of self interested groups sailing in differing directions, whilst the government and president just try to keep air in the sails without any real leadership or direction.

We need to view every member of our nation as equally vested in the eUK's fortunes. We need to stop thinking short term individual goals and to stop viewing those goals as the ultimate win.

It’s because of not just my belief but the beliefs of others like me that we are able to form a coalition, that we can show a unified front in order to break the hegemony of the eUK political scene.

And why despite my lack of experience, I believe i can deliver for the country.

The job of Prime Minister is not about running the show, it’s about bringing together the community, creating a strong team to run the government with the best candidates for each role, ensuring communication and ministries run smoothly and finally giving everyone the chance to get involved. To have access to information and for the government to keep everyone informed of the decision making process.

The main and overarching aim of having a term in office will be to ensure regular government reporting with an eye to showing the situation as best as possible without endangering the nation, so that healthy debate can exist.

That whilst the government may have less funds it performs its task far better than it has in recent months, Activity and Drive cost nothing. That we open channels of information from the government to the people and vice versa. Where public opinion polls will be conducted and the results used in the decision making process when able.

It’s for this reason that I pledge between myself and my much trusted vCP, Richard Feist, that there will be regular updates from the Government every other day at least. Not to mention that each ministry will be instructed to publish reports ingame as well as on the forum on a regular basis.

Our community has become unbalanced, and whilst this isn’t the fault of any one person and it is in all honesty to be blamed on the failure of people to stand up and get involved when they were most needed, It is no reason for our State apparatus to be controlled from permanent seats of power by a few dedicated players.

I mean no disrespect to those who have long taken this burden on themselves, but it isn’t healthy for our nation to have a few overworked citizens working all the state organs. Nor is it healthy to restrict those positions from the democratic process, of course the same individuals would be more than welcome and in fact encouraged to run, but continuing these positions as they are is unjustifiable.

And so I pledge to do my utmost in restructuring the eUK Community and State apparatus to remove where possible ‘Permanent’ seats of power and replace them with democratic committees, delegated best candidates for the job and elected officials.

Key to all of this of course is having a cross party cabinet formed of both the best candidates and the most enthusiastic members. My intent is to be more of a figure head to hold this coalition together and provide an environment where ministries can run as smoothly as possible. As such i have already selected some incredibly experienced and excited cabinet hopefuls for most roles, though have yet to resolutely finalise the list.

The notion that we should axe the MoHA or turn it into Congress' play thing horrifies me if i’m honest. It’s a vital element of our government and needs to be expanded, with improved activity and involvement, run by a trusted and capable member of our community. Not turned into a Congress controlled and underused ministry.

Rather than replace the Ministry of Home Affairs with Congress the Ministry will provide greater information on Congress decisions. Be more regular with Information (sadly my time was interrupted with a rather unhappy personal issue in my real life) and generally keep everyone up to date.

And be the first port of call for information and enquires for both new and old players alike. Providing more social events and opening up the Government by providing reports on recent and upcoming decisions and issues.

Helping to provide a clearer more transparent government.

I have a great candidate in mind for this, though it’s my belief that for a stable coalition you must leave somewhere open to ensure that other parties get a chance at a cabinet seat should someone worthy come forward rather than assigning them all straight away. However i do have a backup who has accepted if no one of equally or better ability comes forward.

Tasked with looking after the countries finances these two ministerial positions are extremely important, with the MoF dealing with the day-today running of the country's finances and the MoT auditing and coming up with new innovative ways of gaining extra wealth for the country.

My intention will be to have a public review of our expenses, finances and income. Assigning the MoT to audit the state of our counties finances so we can move forward with a clear up-to-date picture of exactly where we stand. Dependent on the outcome the audit we will look to re-introducing Bank of England loans with the intended outcome being to raise production within the entire country.

In my eye’s we’ve been too short term in our monetary policies, buying goods from the market rather than slowly but surely improving our own manufacturing strength. Of course we can’t move straight to investing heavily and we won’t be stopping market purchases anytime too soon but we will start looking into better utilising Tax revenue for the long term. This means we will be directing funds, when able, towards investments in production most especially Raw Weapons Material to improve supply and production for everyone and in turn improve the UK’s Military Capability as a whole, rather than just the BEF itself.

It's been mentioned that we can use manipulation of the MM as an additional revenue stream using gov Orgs. This has been used for many many months within the PCP to gain extra revenue and it's surprising to hear this being used as a potential way of getting extra wealth, as the Government should already be doing this. It's a simple thing that every citizen of the UK should be doing to exploit the MM. We need to start thinking more long term, reducing costs can only be achieved over time and with investment in future production. Rather than having to buy what is needed every day

As an incredibly vital ministry which takes time to build up, I wish to see continuity here, to keep those who have built great relationships outside of the UK involved. We have some excellent and loyal allies, and the ministry has consistently worked hard to improve those links and to provide updates from around the world.

We have many burgeoning relationships and some incredibly important old ones which i will seek to maintain and improve with the help of an experienced hand in MoFA taking the reigns.

We believe that consistent progression is the key to the MoD, so it is our belief that we need to have the best candidate possible take on this role, regardless of their political affiliation. We’ll aim to continue the updating of MoD orders with a strong emphasis remaining on the defence of the UK and in support of our allies.

And to coordinate more strikes, however not just amongst BEF members but to bring involvement from other groups in as well.

Apart from that at the same time concentrate our forces both BEF and private to be ready to direct damage in vital battles. This may involve if possible greater supplies and supplying. But this will still be reliant on the results of the MoF and MoT Reports.

I hope this has given you some idea of where we as a coalition see the UK heading, what can be improved and most importantly why we would like to ask you to both vote for us and also to bring it up within your own parties. We welcome those looking to get involved no matter what their party affiliation and want to create as large a consensus across the country as possible.

I’m excited to see hopefully a true and reasoned campaign fought with words and ideas rather than just party affiliations, to see if we can as a nation head towards a vision and improve.

I would also like to take this time to urge everyone to avoid negative campaigning, whether it be accusations over real life nationality or of some supposed xenophobia. Let’s keep this about policies, proposals and people’s abilities to achieve them. I welcome a well reasoned campaign and debate, As such i’ve opened a thread on the eUK Forum to discuss my proposals and ask questions.

I wish all the other candidates good luck and will publish my Cabinet choices on the 3rd of September.

Thank you,
